Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I do have another question. I noticed that you were sleeved in July of this year. You have in your siggy that you've losed over 100lbs so far. How is that possible? That is just alost of weight. We are in Sept now, which would mean it took you 2 months to loose all that weight? I am confused. Is it the cardio workouts? How is the integrity of your skin?Regarding your diet, were you told to stay away from carbs? I am on stage 4 and I can't have rice, Pasta, or bread yet. I don't have to focus on carbs either. I am pretty much drinking a glass of milk or a Protein shake in the morning, anything with Protein (4 ounces) for lunch, and then another Protein Shake or whatever protein again for dinner. I am not even counting calories or excerising. I will start hand weights tomorrow. Am I missing something?
I started my journey on June 2, 2010. I began a liquid protien diet a month before my surgery. I went from 408 to 364 the day of my surgery July 2, 2010. I am currenly 296 and dropping. I should reach my goal of 200 pounds by January 1, 2011. I never really had a problem losing weight I just had a problem keeping it off. I have always been athletic up until 3 years ago but I am getting back in shape. I am almost in the best condition of my life. I believe it is the cardio that has helped me to lose as fast as I have. Believe me one hour of cardio does wonders for the body. I know you are going to do well in your training. Kepp me posted on how you are progressing.

Wow, congrats! Lol! Thanks for sharing your success story. I was sleeved on 8/16/10 and have lost a total of 28lbs so far. I am very eager to continue loosing. What do you contribute your rapid weight loss too? Just eating less or have you actually worked out to help accelerate the loss? What is your basic eating plan like per day? Like your ideal Breakfast, lunch, dinner? I am sorry for all the questions but I am so new that I get confused. I haven't worked out yet because I am not 6 weeks yet, but I want to if it will make me loose quicker.Hello Bdoreus,
Thank you for the compliment and it is very encouraging to get responses from so many people on this site. My diet consist of lean Protein and green vegetables. I also perform one hour of cardio exercise 6 days a week, strength training three days a week. chicken is my favorite so pretty much have it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I am always trying to get at least 80 grams of protien in a day. I am not so much concerned about the calories. I stay away bread, rice, Pasta, and most fruits, except grapes, and grapefruit.

I have just crossed over to 299 pounds. I have not been this weight since 2002. I am now 99 pounds away from my goal. I am so excited.

It has been an amazing journey since I embarked on weight loss surgery. I started my journey June 2, 2010 on the pre-op diet that was prescribed to me by Dr. Garth Davis. I had gastric sleeve sugery on July 2, 2010. As of today I have lost a total of 105 pounds and I have 103 pounds left to reach my goal. I no longer take cholestrol medicine, sleep with a breathing machine, blood pressure medicine has been reduced to half, and I am able to do cardio for up to two hours a day. I cut up my Casual Male card and I now shop at Marshalls, Ross, and TJ Max. Although when I look in the mirror I am unable to see the change but my clothes and pictures tell a different story. I will post new pictures when I reach 299 pounds. That should be no later than next Monday.

You look great DeeDee. You are an inspiration for many including myself.

On Friday I went shopping at my usual clothing store Casual Male. I noticed that everything I tried on was too big, then I realized that I cannot shop at this store anymore. I went to SteinMart and purchased an outfit for church at the same price that I would have paid for a pair of pants at Casual Male.

I will be four weeks out on Friday and I have dropped 30lbs so it appears that we are losing weight about the same rate.
-
You look great, keep up the good work.

That's wonderful!Did you lose that much since your surgery or was some of that from a pre-op diet?
I lost 44lbs on my pre-opt and the rest after surgery.
-
I have lost a total of 59 pounds as of oday. My surgery was on July 2, 2010. I am now under 350 lbs and only 149lbs to go. I feel so much better and I am planning to run a marathon and I will also become a personal trainer at 24 hour fitness. Glory to God I can now run without the pain.

Dr. Garth is a wonderful doctor. What you see on TV is exactly how he is in real life. I am glad that he performed the surgery on me. It took less than an hour and he was done. His father Dr. Robert Garth met with me on yesterday just to see how I was doing and to release me from the hospital. They are both great doctors.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers. I am home now and it has been an experience. I going to take it easy and get some rest for now.

Today is my day to have surgery. I am excited and I would like to say thanks to everyone on this forum that gave me advice in helping me make this decision. My prayers are with those that are in recovery and have upcoming surgeries.

Is anyone haing surgery on July 2, 2010? I am looking forward to the surgery however I am feeling a little anxiety. I know that the doctor should have no probem performing the surgery since I have dropped 44lbs since I have been on my pre-op diet. I am feeling so much better and I have been excercising 6 days a week for one hour.
-
Julie, I will be praying for you that your surgery will go well and I know God will see you through. Let me know how you are doing once you return.

What was your pre-op diet like? It certainly looks like it worked! I'm just starting my 2-week pre-op diet (2 shakes and an Atkins-type dinner). I hope I can lose as much as you--our BMIs are pretty close.Donna
I am with the Davis Clinic and they have their own version of the Protein Shake. It works very well and it has all the Vitamins and minerals that I need.

DANG. Go ahead with your baaad self. Seriously excellent job. Question. Are you saying you will have been on your preop diet for a month when you have your surgery? If so that is awesome!!!! Best of wishes for a smooth operation and a speedy recovery. I see you're very dedicated to this new lifestyle and I feel you will do great. Keep us updated.Deb
I was given the Protein Shakes on June 2, 2010. I started using the shakes the next day just so I could get in a routine. I did not use the shakes constantly until two weeks before my surgery. I am glad I started early because my BMI was very high.

I have 5 days left before I get my sleeve. I have been doing well on my pre-op diet and it has not been as difficult as thought. I have lost 39lbs since June 2, 2010 and I am know that my doctor will be very suprised when I weigh in on July 2, 2010.
