  1. I'm 10 days post op. Besides my family, I've told about 5 buddies. Some of them had genuine concerns, but all of them said that if I decided to do it, they would be supportive. And they all have been.
  2. I hear you on the shakes! They are getting old. Great job on the walking! I need to get going I guess.
  3. Thanks cynthia! I haven't been exercising, but I'll be starting more walking and some biking within a few days. I have been getting in about 70 grams of protien a day (mostly from 3 protien shakes a day) and keeping under 700 calories.
  4. Congrats! I'm just 10 days out. Pre-op: 300 DOS: 284 Today: 269
  5. Cool, thanks for the replies. At least I know it's normal.
  6. I'm 10 days post op and I feel great. My packet from the hospital says that I can't lift more than 10-15 pounds for a month post op. It's driving me nuts....I can't do yard work, projects around the house, etc. What kind of restrictions did everybody else have?
  7. I'm just a couple of weeks out, and I experienced that so much the first week. I was so disappointed becuase I wanted my hunger/cravings to go away. But, once I started on some full liquids like applesauce, and some mushy food, I haven't felt much hunger. It only takes a couple of bites of those things and I feel so full and don't want food! The first week on clear liquids, no matter how much liquid you get down there is just not enough substance to it to make you feel full, but that will change soon.
  8. You look great! Sometimes slow and steady is best for long term results. Keep it up!
  9. I agree. Having struggling with weightloss for so long, I know I wouldn't appreciate somebody lying to me about how they lost weight. I'm now 8 days post op, and I'm just telling people as I see them and it comes up. I've been really surprised at how supportive everybody has been.
  10. Good job! I am 7 days post op and just starting on full liquids and mushy stuff too. It's all been going down really well. I am with you with the protien shakes. They all give me gas! My doctor had told me to stay on Gas-X for a few weeks while I am still doing protien shakes, and it does help.
  11. I'm 5 days out too. With the gas, rumbling, my doctor told me as soon as I get out of hospital to start taking Gas-X. It really does help. I definitely have more hunger than I thought I would, but it sounds like your experience is more normal. I wish my hunger didn't come back....it was that hunger that got me to this spot in which I needed WLS to begin with.
  12. I use one called Pure Protien that I've been getting at my local store. I like the taste, and I like that it has 23g of protien, but only 2g of sugar and 110 callories.
  13. I'm doing well. I lost 16 on pre-op, and now 9 since the surgery on Friday, so down 25 total. Feeling pretty well. I feel hungrier than I thought. I am gaving no problems getting down 3 protien shakes, 2 cups of broth, jellow, and lots of flavored drinks.
  14. Thanks for the replies! I will definitely try the prilocec route!
  15. I was sleeved on the 3rd also! How are you doing?
  16. Hello! I just got my sleeve on Friday (5/3/13) so I'm only 4 days out. Overall I feel pretty well. Very little pain (I am still taking a little of my vicodin). But, my biggest surprise is how hungry I am now. I would have thought that my stomach would still be so small and swallen that I wouldn't be hungry. The last couple of days I've been having 3 protien shakes a day, Jello, chicken broth, and lots of Water. Last night in bed my stomach wouldn't stop growling. It felt like it would have felt if I was starving myself and hadn't had the surgery. I know that it is not just psychological desire for food, because like I said my stomach is actually growling. Is anybody else experience this much hunger so soon?
