Lifting restrictions?

I'm 10 days post op and I feel great. My packet from the hospital says that I can't lift more than 10-15 pounds for a month post op. It's driving me nuts....I can't do yard work, projects around the house, etc.

What kind of restrictions did everybody else have?

I had the same, and stuck to it. The stomach muscle wall needs time to heal or a hernia is a real possibility.

I stuck to it as well. At 6 weeks, I tried a class at the gym. Cardio, weight training. I had that shooting pain from the first week return.

Don't push, you'll heal up soon enough

Cool, thanks for the replies. At least I know it's normal.

Normal and one of those things you kinda want to stick to :)

I want to say I was told I could get a hernia if I wasn't careful??

Oops just saw that John already said it :P
