It could be bile. I would give the doc a call because it could be a sign of Gastrointestinal bleeding. Which could be nothing as they can heal on there own but I wouldn't chance it with have a band in.
Hope you feel better soon. ( my info is from what a friend went through)

As I read your post I went back and forth in my mind. Would I or wouldn't I let my daughter take this step.
Well, I would. Bottom line is health. Sounds like your daughter has medical issues this procedure would help. My only concern is making sure she is prepared for what she is about to go through.
I personally before my surgery started to go to a local support group and that has really helped me. Nice to be able to talk with people who are going through the same thing.
This site is wonderful to. Have her get on here and read... read... read. So many people have gone through such different things with this procedure it might help her see the good and bad.
The best thing my insurance made me do was see a nutritionist. That would be a good thing for her too if she isn't already doing it.
My husband and daughter (10 years old) have been the best support for me. They have changed their eating habits to make us all healthier. The hubby has lost 20lbs and the child has toned up. We don't let her focus on weight as she is only 10. I just don't want her to end up like me.
Let your daughter know she ca ne-mail me anytime. Just click on my name and there will be a way to do so. You also if there is a question you have I will try to help. Of course this will be all from my experience and everyone is different.

Who have I told?
Hubby, child, Mom, Dad, mom in law, dad in law, brother, sister in law, Manager at work (because I had to give dr note) and best friend.
Who I wish I would have told?
Hubby, child and best friend. They are the only ones who don't constantly ask "so how much have you lost" all the freaking time. AHHHHH I know the others mean well. BUT this is a slow process and it really annoys me.
Now I just tell them "I don't know and I won't know until my next dr appointment"

Thank you all. I did call the doc, looks like an allergic reaction. Had to take something for it I just woke up. I'm not as red and not as hot to the touch. But extremely tired so back to bed for me after some more fluids and a few goes at the lung Thingy. Still no temp and bp is normal. Hopefully it will work through me fast what ever it is.
Thanks again to all.

I was banded on 5/12 and seem to be flushed in the face and chest. Even warm to the touch. No fever. Has anyone else had this before? My guess is the gas, giving it a little longer before I call the doc since no fever. Almost like a sun burn look to it and hot flash feel to it.
Thanks for your in put.

The only people I have told is Family, my best friend and my boss. The only reason I told my boss was because I didn't want to take my vacation time. We have whats called and extended illness bank but you can only use it with a doctors note stating why. She understood why I wasn't telling anyone and has been very supportive.
I don't plan on telling anyone else for the same reason as a lot of people mentioned above. I don't want to hear the only reason why I am losing weight is because of the surgery. This takes a lot of work. I think we all deserve the credit!

Don't be bummed.
I did my own work for 3 months while I was researching lap bands. I even called the insurance company to get the info. When I finally made my decision and made the arrangements to see the surgeon my insurance company changed policies and I had to got through the 6 month waiting and nutritional classes. I was pissed.
Well, my surgery is now on the 12th and I am SO GLAD I went through the 6 months. I think I was able to grasp what all the changes where going to be and I think I handled the ALL liquid diet the surgeon put me on for 2 weeks before the surgery alot better than I would have.
It's different for everyone. Just try to make the best out it and soak in all the info you can.
Good Luck on your journey.

I to am Vitamin d deficient. I found this out a couple of years ago when I was getting increasingly more tired. The doc gave me rx for 50,000iu vit d2 yet it did nothing for six months then the doc changed me to vit d3. It made a great difference.
I didn't know there was a difference but after research I learned alot. So if d2 is not working for you ask for d3.

I'm on day 6 (out of 14) of my pre op diet.
Other than a few issues yesterday (nope I didn't cheat) it has been going as well as it can.
I am on a 100% liquid diet. 90g of Protein and all the SF juices and drinks (64oz water) I can have. No soda No caffeine (I live in WA this is hard with all my usual Starbucks shops screaming at me to stop) jell-o and Popsicles are ok but they have to be SF as-well.
Good luck to us all!! Remember it should get better.
I hope you are feeling better soon.

Doing well so far. Surprised I haven't had hunger pains yet, but I have never had to pee so much in my life. Evenings are the worst for me. I seem to think about food then. I live in wa so my surgery will be at St Francis in Federal Way. It's been a long journey so far I can't wait to start the post surgery side.

I wish I would have just told my hubby, daughter and best friend but my family and managers at work know. The only people that are the problem is family especially my mother, mother in-law and sister in-law. they are always asking my questions and looking at what I am doing. I had to tell the managers because I had to give them a doc note to use my extended illness time off. No one else at work knows and if the found out someone would be in trouble because that means they looked in my medical file (I work at a dr's office).
