  1. I understand!! I am sleeply a little some through out the day and don't feel too much pain in tummy area but for me the gas pains just don't want to leave me:eek:

just an update about me. wee.

last night was the WORST. the gas pains were wicked horrible and i couldn't sleep AT ALL. :ogre my wounds almost don't hurt anymore, but i am concerned about the superglue stuff they use on them - i wanted to use mederma (spell? that stuff for scars) but obviously i can't since the superglue. i'm also concerned that dirt or bacteria can get underneath... one of them is looking kind of angry.

today i am so exhausted i can barely function. i'm also running a slight temp, but the doc said that wasn't unusual and only to worry if it gets above 100. blah. i'm starving all the time to boot, argh.

BUT i heard from my nutritionalist and she said i could start Soups early!!! :high5:

i hope it all gets better soon. :cry

  2. My throat is not sore at all. It just feels like its going to close up sometimes. I know its wierd. I will call the dr tomorrow.

I think you should go to doc and check it out since it has been going on so long and not better.

I had a problem like that after we came back from vacation last summer and was told I had some sort of reaction issue. I was given a shot and it helped and never came back? :)

  3. WOW- Lasagna (any pasta), bread and rolls and FF's ??????????????????????????????????

I was told even after band heals it is a big NO to those 3 because they could make you have slippage( not sure on spelling)LOL and they can get stuck and also cause erosion?

??? You were told those were ok???

    Freetobe

I was banded on Feb 8th and I am eating pretty much anything for the last couple of days. Here are some of the foods I have had...albeit a lot smaller portions than what I used to. I never had clear liquids after surgery. The first day after surgery I was on shakes, tomatoe Soup, creamy Soups, pudding, Jello, popsicles, etc...you can look at my previous posts.

Now here are the foods I have tried with no problems -

    Lasagna

Peice of bread, soft sweet roll

omelet w/ham (tiny), green pepper, onion, and cheese

    Onion Soup

    Baked potatoe (inside)

    Mashed potatoes

    Rice Krispies cereal

    Cheerios

Taco with soft shell, ground meat

    Home made spaghetti

    Spaghettio's

Piece of soft chicken from Thai resturaunt with peanut sauce

    Hot n Sour Soup

    Cheddar cheese, sliced very thin

    Wendy's Chili

French Fries (chew well, soft, only had about 10)

    Raviolis

    Steamed carrots (mushed in mouth)

Think that gives you an idea FreeToBe. What are you eating right now?

  4. Our Docs can be so different? EX:

My doc says: week1- thin clear Soups, diet shakes, etc.

week2 (should be weak 2) LOL can still only go to more reg. Soups but no chucks, puddings, etc. Still pretty much clear

    I don't think I get into more real foods until 4 weeks?

Other docs say clear just the 1st 3 or 4 days then pudding a another 4 or so days and then more into normal food by 2nd week?

Wonder why they can be so different?:) :faint:

  6. Well I did it today!!!!!!!!!!

Everything went well from what the doc said. But Yes I have the bad gas pains on my left shoulder. I am very tired but can't go to sleep. Have to walk about every 30 min. for me. I hope I am able to sleep good tonight.:) Its been a hard day but I think worth it in the end!!!:update: you all again later. Haven't checked the past couple of hours for temp. But last time I checked I was fine. Hope I am writing this well enough due to being off today:)

  7. Just wanted to say I am home from surgery. In a bit of pain. But I am now banded!!! I do have a slight fever. The Dr told me if it gets over 101 to call. It is just over 99. I hope everyone is doing good.

Oh and the "cocktail" that they give you before surgery was exactly what I needed. Too bad I didnt have it the day before...lol!!!

    Hey,

Hope you feel better real soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and also --!:) You did it!

  8. No, I was a thin child growing up and did some work for Ford-Modeling also. I was thin until about age 30 then gained, a lot after each child I had and it has been hard the past several years but I do want to lose the weight for my health and to be here for my children in years to come. I lost my dad early due to heart issues and so I don't want to follow in the same path so trying to do what I can now to be healthy again! And if I end up still looking good again after I lose the weight, well thats a plus. And so it just goes to show you anyone can be thin and anyone can gain alot of weight also.:)

  9. Hey,

My lap band is scheduled for this Th. 22nd. But today my Family doctor called me to say that they think my liver count is off too much and want to do further test, sonogram, etc???

I called my lap-band doctor and the office said not to worry yet that they still may end up doing the surgery and If I don't here from them to consider the surgery a go?

What do you think and has anything like this happen to you all???:faint:

  10. Hello everyone! I had my surgery this morning. I'm doing fine so far. Just feels like someone hit me hard in the stomach... Just Sore! I haven't had any gas pain yet... I hope they don't come later! Seems like I would have them by now. I had my surgery around 9:00 A.M. One advise I would give is not to wear a real nice shirt, because my incisions drained a little and got on my shirt in several places. I never really got that nervous. They kept me busy at the surgery center.... GOOD LUCK to all of you future bandsters.

    Genia

Way to go! Let us know how you are doing the next couple of days, etc. Hope all contiunes to go well for you and heal fast and safe!!:clap2:

  11. OK:cool: trying to be cool about this... Not!!!LOL:biggrin1:

I have my surgery for 2-21-07. My doc asked if I wanted it for 2-14 but I laughed and said No, My DH's Birthday is that day, so I don't think thats how he wants to not only spend his Birthday but Valentines Day. No:lol:

So it will be the 21st instead. Not too long now!!!!:clap2:

Question: My doc says I need to do the 1st part of South Beach before my surgery not the all liquid. Anyone else doing it this way?

  12. I was wondering how the 1st month weight loss goes for most so I asked on another thread. It seemed that most lost somewhere between 10-25 lbs the 1st month and then 1-3 lbs each week after.

Which seems like the best way of losing weight not to fast but yet not to slow if you stay within the rules of what you are asked to do by the doc. ( easier said the done because I haven't been LB'ed yet) LOL- but hoping to have it in Feb. if all goes well!!:)

    So Hang In There!!!

  13. Here's a vid on youtube showing the procedure...it looks like....eh...'fun'

    :) :faint: :D:faint:

WOW- :help: Those are some photos!!! The one of the LB (surgery)

was kind of hard to watch, but interesting also.

    Thank you Everyone!!

I like to here how it really is rather then just waiting to find out.

  14. :sick One of my sons and I have been both sick since last night and today from the flu. Which I know things happen, thats life. But after reading about the possible slip of the band from throwing up, etc.

    1) Does having the LB make you feel even worse when you are sick with things like the flu? I really really hate to threw up, and

    2) I am wondering how the LB effects or affects you when you are sick?
