    My Sleeve experience so far

I know what you are talking about the gas pain. I had it when I had my gallbladder removed. It didn't start immediately. I was home already and same thing I had no idea what was wrong. I couldn't get my surgeon on the phone so I called the pharmacy to see if I needed to call 911 and they told me it was gas. Nothing much you can do but it will be gone within 24 hrs and it was. But it did hurt. My surgery was scheduled for 3/11/2011 but I moved it up today to 2/19/2011. I am ready to start this journey. I started the pre-op diet 4 days ago anticipating moving my surgery up and have already lost 8lbs. YEY

    Just because

O My Gosh, I am so sorry to hear about your loss. The fact that you are still trying to get your shakes in is amazing. I just said a prayer for you. Please keep us updated on how you are doing. It is extremely hard not to just let yourself go in times of sorrow. I pray for peace and comfort for you at this time that you will not feel the need to eat to fill you pain. Once again please let us know how your doing.

Inexpensive self pay in the USA

Cheapest I've seen is around 10,000 in USA. That's why a lot of us are going to Mexico. You can go to BeLiteWeight.com. They mostly do Mexico but they have one in Detroit for the price above. Also, I'm in Alabama and they are wanting about 30,000.
  4. fitnessroad.com. They are the company that beliteweight that I scheduled my surgery with referred me to. They have a liquid protein that 2 spoonfuls fulfill your daily protein need. They strongly advised me to use that right after surgery to avoid hair issues. I have not been sleeved yet but that is who I ordered my pre-op stuff from. I don't have their number handy but I'm sure it's on their website and they are very familiar with the surgery and what all you need. Hope that helps.

Bad case of the what ifs

I'm the same way but only about the Mexico thing. I am certain of the surgery. I have researched it as much as possible. However, I just don't want to tell anyone I am going to Mexico to have it done. I just worry about that but a lot of people have went and had no problems. I have just left it up to God. My prayer is if this is not supposed to happen then don't let it. So, If everything continues working out then it's meant to be. I am a single mom so I definately have those fears but I want to live to see my grandkids and if I don't get some weight off the odds are not in my favor. Good luck with you decision.

4 days to go and I'm dehydrated..

I'm on day 3 and I feel great. Better than I have in a long time. Lots of energy and my knees are not hurting. So I'm really excited about how much weight I will lose before the surgery. Sorry your having problems. I know I'm probably not what you wanted to hear but I was shocked how much I have gotten accomplished today instead of napping.

    I smell funny.

I haven't been sleeved yet. Mine is scheduled for March 11. However, I was just diagnosed with a severe Vitamin D definciency and right before that I was noticing a smell. Are you taking your vitamins because that can cause smell as well. It wasn't just my urine it was all the time. I asked other people if they could smell it and they said no but I was embarrased to go anywhere. Always putting lotions and perfumes on.

    Should I tell my dad??

I'm just going to tell you that I'm 40 yrs old and live a few miles from my parents and work at a family run company with my dad and I'm not telling them. I am going to Mexico on 3/11 a friend is going with me and I have no intention of ever telling my parents. They will be so negative about going to Mexico. They would treat me like I was having a back alley abortion and I just don't want to listen to it. So I have started my pre-op diet early and I'm just going to drink Protein shakes around them and Protein Bars and let them think I finally learned how to stick to a diet. Tell him you've been doing Atkins or Weight Watchers and your just fully committed now that your in college. He doesn't need to know if you don't want to listen to it and it appears you know what his reaction will be. Good Luck and glad to hear about your weight loss.
