  1. My question is about the body's anatomy(sp). I quess the one thing keeping me on the concerned side is I'm not sure about how having such a small stomach is good for anyone. I know that the sleeve works and I see wonderful results, however, I ask myself "Am I going to regret doing this when I'm 65, 75 years old?" Like, am i going to have problems down the road with having a small stomach? Will it ever go back to feeling normal? Will I always be reminded that I had surgery when I was 35. Does your body feel the same ever again???? I know, what about the issues that can come from being over weight and all that needs to be thought about. I'm just thinking and typing and would like to know about these things. Haaaaaa!!!!

  2. I'm getting sleeved with Dr Avara June 14th! I actually went to a support group put on by SMSurgeons tonight! Crazy!! I agree! The staff there is so sweet and caring. I think that I made a good choice by going with them. I know you will do great! I can't wait to here from you and how you are doing! Are you from the coast area? I'm from Hattiesburg. Well, good luck and please, please let me know how you are doing!

  3. I start getting freaked out wondering if I'm going to die from this!!!!!!!!!!! I know that's crazy...But All my little worries and question all lead up to the big QUESTION! Will I make it thru and be back to normal??? If I can get a FIRM yes, then ill be fine!! Haaaaaa!!!! BTW: Typing after drinking 3 glasses of wine.... Just sayn... Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  4. Ok, I have let a new worry enter my every thought! Ha! BLOOD CLOTS. My question is this, When is a person "out of the woods" with them? I know that's why they want you to get up and start moving as soon a possible but at what point is it not a concern anymore? One week later? As long as a month later? Also, is there anyway to know if you may have one or is it one minute your fine and then..... Well, please let me know what you know? Haaaa! Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!! XOXO

  5. ntvtxn,

That's a great way to look at it! I'm in the south Mississippi area. Yes I have found a surgen. He is out of Ocean Springs, Ms and practices at a Center of Excellence. I actually had another surgery set for April 13 (yesterday) with a different surgen but backed out because I didnt have a good feeling. I'm just having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact that I've come to a point where I'm literally cutting out 3/4 of my stomach! :o I'm also scared of the recovery. I'm not looking forward to mopeing around the house for 2 weeks. I have kids and I want to keep everything funtioning as close to normal as I can. I've also heard a lot about people getting depressed after this, did you?

Bottom line is this.... I'm affaid that I'm going to be laying in bed one night, feeling queezy and in pain, saying ..... WHAT THE HELL HAVE I DONE TO MYSELF??????? I mean, it's not like I can get my stomach back! Haaaaa!!! Last question, did you ever consider a lap band?

  6. Hi! I'm new the forum. I am in the process of possibly have the gastric sleeve done. I'm 5'6" and my BMI is 33. I weigh 213 (at doctor I was 210). My question is, is VSG to drastic for me? I know I need to do something. I've tried every diet, pill selfhelp book... Nothing. Just gain for the past 5 years. I'd be paying out of pocket and Dr approved surgery... Just wondering if anyone else was close to my same situation....

    thanks
