I am eating way less. I am just focusing on eating good foods, and small amounts, but I have not been restricting carbs. Today I had some thinned grits for bkfst, a protein shake at 10ish, some butternut squash (V8, so yum!) soup for lunch, some drinkable yogurt w/ cottage cheese and 2 spoons of humus for dinner, and a protein shake about 8:00. I just had two spoons of sugar free jello and made me a cup of Sleepytime tea. I know that is not many calories, I think w/ the 43g of protein in the shakes + the cottage cheese/yogurt/hummus, I am OK on protein. But, all my other food was carbs. How does that look to you? The carbs help me feel "normal" energy, but I do not want to "stall." Hope this finds you well! Barb

Howdy, just wanted to say hi! No real happenings to report, just wanted you to know I was thinking of you. I feel like you and Anna are my Sleeve sisters, and Linda is my sleeve Momma. I feel really good, not quite "normal. " Eating some mushies, like hummus, and drinkable yogurt with cottage cheese, this morning I had thinned grits for the first time. I have to use MOM to move things along, but I think that will improve. I have two protein shakes a day, so my protein is good too. I hope this finds you well. You look like you are doing great!

Anna,
No real happenings with me. Just wanted you to know I am thinking about you. I feel pretty good - I cannot say "normal" but really good. I have not lost in a day or so, but I am trying to not be TOTALLY scale obsessed. I am eating some mushies now - drinkable yogurt with a bit of cottage cheese, humus, cream soups. I do seem like I can eat a lot, which has me a smidge worried. I hope this finds you well. Thinking of you and hope you are staying warm!

You know I am still a little iffy about the mushies. I had some thinned grits this morning - do ya'll do those in the MW? - and they went down with no problem. In fact, I haven't had any trouble getting anything to go down at this point. I hope as I move to the more solid foods I get a more "full" signal. So far today I had some hot tea, grits, protein shake, bowl of soup, and a glass of water (I put about an 1" of apple juice in my water, it makes it sooo much easier for me to drink). I read about all the carb restriction, and I sort of feel like all I eat are carbs? I guess, I will have to figure it out. But, I am with you beans and cheese, are you sure you aren't from TX, that is soul food in TEXAS!

I am still on full liquids - though some of the stuff my doc will allow on full liquids, I would consider mushies. Today I had a protein shake for bkfst, 1/2 of serving of applesauce, lunch was tomato soup and the other 1/2 of applesauce, 3ish a protein shake, tonight I had hummus and some drinkable yogurt with about a tablespoon of cottage cheese in it. I also had a protein shake at about 8:30. I feel like it is a lot. I guess because it is all really watery, I do not have any trouble getting it in or keeping it down. Next Tues. I move to mushies. So glad you are feeling better. Brrr. Keep warm.

MidwestGirl,
I know I am too late for you to get this before your procedure, but know I am saying a little prayer for you and I hope your surgeon's skill help you to have a successful and problem-free sleeve. I look forward to hearing from you as soon as you are able. Cyber hugs!

Linda,
Thanks so much for checking in on me. YES, Tues, I get drinkable yogurt & jello! Yesterday I was having a bit of a pity party. Just feeling like I would never feel “normal” again. I know it’s been less than a week. But today I feel better. I cannot wait to get my drain out - I think it is on Wed.! Happy New Year to you and your family!

Yesterday I was having a bit of a pity party. Just feeling like I would never feel “normal” again. I know it’s been less than a week. I felt like I was just swallowing one pill or protein.... Today I feel better, both physically and my spirits. Actually your email where you said you almost felt normal gave me a lot of encouragement. Iam going in to work tomorrow, but it is just a workday - no students. I have already set up a sub or Tues, Wed., 1/2Thurs.
I am doing the FP plan. I am pretty excited about drinkable yogurt & cannot wait to get to the mushies - just sick of the fake sugar taste
I "hope" Wed. to get the drain out? Figure I will call tomorrow. Thanks so much for checking in on me!
How are you doing?

Thinoneday,
I hope you are able to sleep well tonight, and I pray your tummy gives enough peace to rest. I am hangin' on to the faith that this too shall pass, but man o man it is a rough row to hoe. I have had a really hard time getting my fluids in, so I am off to sip, sip ,sip...

Tomorrow is our day! Best wishes headed to you! We are such twinkies - I am 47 too. When is your bday, mine is 10/23?

Linda,
Thank you so much for your kindness. I feel like you were my first support and it truly means so much to me! I am having a hard time going to sleep tonight. Hungry, nervous, mind a racing, but I am ready for Tues. Went to GNC and am ready for my return to begin the New Year. Thanks so much for having me in your thoughts and prayers!

I am going to head up either Mon. or Tues. - sort of depends on what time my surgery is on Tues. They are supposed to call tomorrow with a firm time. I am currently scheduled for 8:00, hope it stays that way, but another friend of mine had this and was moved to 2:00 the day before her procedure. I am at Forest North Medical Center. I think it is good you are at the hospital, in the unlikely event there is a complication. I will say a prayer for you tonight for a speedy recovery and good pharmaceuticals. Post as soon as you feel able. Best Wishes. Hook 'Me!
