1. Thinoneday,

I hope you are able to sleep well tonight, and I pray your tummy gives enough peace to rest. I am hangin' on to the faith that this too shall pass, but man o man it is a rough row to hoe. I have had a really hard time getting my fluids in, so I am off to sip, sip ,sip...

2. barbannn

I made it.

I am having such a hard time geting the liquids in.So weird for me to say this. So far today I have had about 12 oz. I totally get why people like the bullet protein so that you do not have to swallow as much volume. My left shoulder - actually the whole left side of my head - feels like it has been knifed. I will nap for a while and then it will get better. I am just believing that by Sunday, I will feel so much better. .... Talk to ya'll soon.
3. Yep,

feel like total crap. I am weak, very sick to my stomach, and my left shoulder is on fire. Really feel like crud and oh, so miss my morphine drip. Gentle cyber huugs sent yourway.

4. Tomorrow is our day! Best wishes headed to you! We are such twinkies - I am 47 too. When is your bday, mine is 10/23?

5. Linda,

Thank you so much for your kindness. I feel like you were my first support and it truly means so much to me! I am having a hard time going to sleep tonight. Hungry, nervous, mind a racing, but I am ready for Tues. Went to GNC and am ready for my return to begin the New Year. Thanks so much for having me in your thoughts and prayers!

6. Well, my day is almost here! Tomorrow I am traveling about 3 or so hours to my Dallas for my surgery on Tues., 12/29. Just wondering, besides the "usual," was there anything you wished you would have packed for post-op? I have my hubbie and lip balm packed - these seemed like the essentials but thought there might be some other goodies I should take? All of my p.j's have elastic waists, is that going to work? Thanks for your help. I am nervous as a cat, but have gotten so much encouragement from all of you. THANKS SO MUCH for sharing your stories.
7. WingRider,

Good luck. I think we are sleeve Twinkies. I am going to be sleeved on 12/29 as well. Live in the Austin area, but traveling to Dallas for my procedure. Who's doing your surgery? Someone local?

Surgeons Dallas area

I am having my procedure with Dr. Nicholson Tues, so I will share my experience with you over the next few weeks. So far I have been really pleased with his expertise and his staff.
9. I am going to head up either Mon. or Tues. - sort of depends on what time my surgery is on Tues. They are supposed to call tomorrow with a firm time. I am currently scheduled for 8:00, hope it stays that way, but another friend of mine had this and was moved to 2:00 the day before her procedure. I am at Forest North Medical Center. I think it is good you are at the hospital, in the unlikely event there is a complication. I will say a prayer for you tonight for a speedy recovery and good pharmaceuticals. Post as soon as you feel able. Best Wishes. Hook 'Me!

10. Theresa,

How you doing? Just wanted to check-in. You are almost 2 weeks out! Whew!

11. BTW, do you think we can find some burnt orange protein for the Rose Bowl?

12. Is your three day diet, only liquids? I was just curious?

It's Done!

Anna, Hope you are resting after yesterday's travels. But, look at you - traveling only a few days after the procedure. So glad you are home and healin'. Are you able to take anything for the allergies to help? I take allergy shots, and before the shots, I will take an Alavert - they dissolve (taste like baby aspirin) and are basically Claritin. My allergies are nuts right now too, Cedar is doing its thing. Hope to see you on the 29th.
14. Theresa, You crack me up. Merry Christmas, I know next Christmas, your skinny-behind will be laughin' as your recall this holiday, and as you enjoy the tamales with your family. You have showed so much determination by beginning your journey before the holiday. I am ready for my day next week. Enjoy the smells and the strengh your body is showing to heal this season. I am sooo proud of you! (Keep the knives hidden for another week or so.)
15. Wow. That is exactly the kind of story that I needed. Congratulations on your success. I am going to be sleeved on 12/29 and stories like yours are such an encouragement. Thanks for sharing and inspiring!
16. I am with Dr. Nick too, I have mine on 12/29. Went and picked up the "patch" today. How are you doing? I only have 7 days off, and after reading TwoBlueCats, I am wondering if it is going to be long enough. Are you up and about yet?

Tomorrow's the Day!

Anna, You are all resting and healing and your journey has begun. I am thinking of you. Soft hugs sent your way!
18. I think we may be sleeve "Twinkies?" My surgery date is 12/29? Is that your date? Are you with Dr. Nicholson too? I am. I am nervous, nervous, ner - vous.... and a little excited too, but did I mention I am scared (aka: nervous!). : )

19. I have not had my big day yet. My day is next Tues., 12/29. I have not done really well on the pre-op. Has your pain been pretty manageable? You were with Dr. Kim, right? I am getting just ready to be on the sleeved side!

20. Linda,

My surgery is 12/29. It is getting so close! I have not done particularly well on the pre-op diet. I am excited. Thanks for asking. Hope you and your family is enjoying the season!

21. Theresa, My loving hubbie has given me a cold from hell, so I am hoping that all the ickiness subsides by next week. I went to the store and found some cold medicine without all the "things" we aren't allowed to take, like asperin.... My hubbie is not the best nurse, so I am glad to have my daughter. She is a "get things done" kind of kid, so I know she will be measuring and monitoring me to death. I am getting more excited and less scared - sure my story will change, but I am ready. I will probably travel to Dallas on 28th and plan to return to Austin on the 31st - early. Want to beat the NYEve crazies.
22. Theresa, Hang in there. I know I would be the exact same way. I am thinking about having my daughter, she is going to take care of me the first few days, put the scale away for right after surgery. I kinda feel like that in this pre-op time. I have lost maybe 2 pounds. I have not been perfect, but my tummy is growling right now. I guess the Tiffkins is right, it is a long race, and you are just at the onset. I know you will get those pounds off. Hang in there, bud! Inch by inch, pound by pound we will get there!
23. The pain meds are soooo constipating for me, and the bad thing is that I will have the crampy urge to go, but just cannot. Probably more than you wanted to know... I am glad you are feeling well enough to be up and emailing. Good news. How is your hunger - when you swallow do you feel that "tight" feeling like when you take to big of a bite? Have you weighed yet? I know I would have, oh, a dozen times! Can't wait to talk to you soon!

24. Bea called and said that they had reviewed my EKG, and it was good to go. I asked if they felt that there was any need for additional tests, and they said no. So I guess that is good. Glad to hear you are keeping something down. How's your energy - are you still feeling puny? I would think with so little in your system, it would be hard to not just be exhausted. The drain does sound icky - do you have it for a week? Not looking forward to that. Is it in all the incisions or just the "big" one? How do you think the scarring will be. I have a zillion scars, but none on my tummy... well not for another week or so :).

25. Theresa, YOU NOW HAVE LESS THAN 100 pounds to reaching your goal!:tongue_smilie:
