  1. My plan says clear liquids for 2-3 days after surgery. Isopure clear is ok. I think you should call your doctor, not as us as you Dr. is the one who knows what you need to do so soon after surgery. Congrats on getting the sleeve by the way!
  2. You look fantastic! So cute. You were cute before too, but you are really shining now. The confidence shows!
  3. 1 cup yogurt 1 cup non fat milk 1/4 cup non fat dry milk powder sugar free flavored syrup to taste blend 27 gms protean
  4. not in order:-ultrasound of gaul bladder - Upper GI endoscopy - EKG - nuclear stress test - 2 meetings with a nutritionist - routine blood work - chest xray -2 Psychologist visits -visit with the surgeon to determine if I am a candidate -visit with my Cardiologist to get a letter of approval for surgery -attend a seminar about WLS (it was for RNY, but thats what they mostly do) -up to date Mammogram , pap , colonoscopy and physical by my General Dr. There was a loooong list of stuff to do! They got me through quickly, from start (going to visit the Bariatric Surgeon) to finish(getting a date) it was 6 weeks. I am now just waiting to get to my date, and keep my weight the same,(I am on the boarder with my BMI) January 18th!
  5. I love to see those "person fits into one pant leg" photos! Congrats and thanks for posting!
  6. Thats wonderful! I love swimming, and its so good for you!
  7. You guys are killing me! My husband doesn't shop for real food, although he certainly knows how to find a hotdog stand or a burger joint thats open. I don't eat those so that helps. He probably won't see a raw fruit or vegetable until I start shopping again!
  8. Sweet and inspirational, thanks and continued success to you.
  9. I was feeling a little "low", got my D tested and it was very low... started taking large doses (prescribed by my Dr) then regular over the counter D3. It made me feel much better. I use a lot of sun screen, this can cause low D.
  10. Here Here! I am going on vacation in New Zealand for the holidays. When I get back I have 13 days till my pre op meeting with the surgeon, then one week more till THE DAY. I have so much to do to get ready! protein samples- check cozy jammies- check ride to the hospital-check little dog to jump all over my stomach when I get back home- check... not sure how to handle that one!
  11. My guess is something else is bugging him. He was totally immature and non self realized to act out that way behind your back to your daughter... but my guess is he's afraid of your weight loss, or your sickness perhaps....afraid your going to die or be a burden or he said it: "she went behind my back"...fear of your independence....just playing phycologist here....you know him better than I do.
  12. I'm bumping this for the other January sleevers that have been posting...
  13. Hi guys, Jan 18th here. FYI there are two other January posts floating around out there with several other peeps sighed up for January dates. Cheers, Kim
  14. I didn't like it very much, but it was over super quick, and I felt just fine afterwards. I was given a drug that made me feel like I was climbing Everest. All of a sudden I had extreme shortness of breath and had to take a HUGE deep breath like I had not had oxygen for about 5 minutes. I felt like I was going to pass out... then no more than 5 minutes from start to finish, it was over and I was just fine. The technicians said some people do not get any effect at all. This could be you. I was sure that with my crazy response, I must have clogged arteries to the max... but my test came back better than normal so go figure. I was also given two shots of a radioactive isotope with a half life of about 2 seconds, I couldn't feel that at all. They were all very nice, and they just told me to close my eyes, and the machine didn't bother me. Some places use the old treadmill way to get up your heart rate, but because we are overweight, they don't want any bad side effects from lots of exercise. There ya go... my critique.
  15. The Chike bannana is delish! I bought a bunch of samples... I bought the Chike samples, some samples from a local health food store, samples from Vitamin center, and Necta sample pack... plus a giant sample pack from True Protein. There aught to be something in there I like! (and probably quite a few I don't as well) I also found slimfast low carb ready to drink cans at the 99cent store...
  16. Sounds like you are marring into the right family! So awesome, congrats.
  17. Enjoy! Congratulations!
  18. Congrats on going for the date! How exciting. I don't think anyone that has never had a problem with yoyoing will ever get it. Just like I will never get it about being naturally thin without surgery! I look at naturally thin women and I think "Alien"! I hope to pass for one soon.
  19. yea... kind of eery... hope all is well with her and her husband....
  20. I'm glad! I thought I got a little personal with you, but I just felt it. Hang in there! I am getting surgery in January and I'm sure I will need the pep talk then myself.
  21. Miss Leslieh, Seriously now, how many people that have gotten the sleeve felt the same rotten way they did just after surgery for the rest of their lives!? None of them girl! You won't either. You just had some major surgery to your tummy, and it needs you to be very nice to it. That means not getting all upset and projecting the most horrid things into your future forever. Relax as much as you can. Don't forget to enjoy something once in a while... maybe the nice nurse, or getting in a little more Water than the last time you drank, or the new jammies some one got you for your surgery... before you know it you will be feeling much better and happy about making such a great big and healthy change for your future. I know things must feel just horrible right now... but don't be your own worst enemy sweetie. I would bet that about 99% of the folks on this site that have had the surgery would "do it again in a heartbeat". Im sure you will be saying the same thing soon too.
  22. I wondered what fail means too... Rachel looks like she has had some work done on her face/mouth.
  23. My gosh Kathy, read on! This forum has tons of examples of people who have revised from band... and had very good success. The side effects from the band can be far worse then the vertical sleeve. Put "Band revision" in the search and read away.
