  1. The link is right above the picture of the ice cream machine...
  2. I have found inexpensive compression long line panties and camisole type tops at Ross and Target.for between 8-35$. Some cute ones too... good luck with that...
  3. No heart attack, but atrial Fibrillation... had to get a letter from my cardiologist to get the surgery. He said it would improve the quality of my life for sure. I have to take an aspirin a day too... this is why my bariatric team recommended the sleeve.
  4. I'm not sure what Alieve is made out of, you will have to look it up... I just stopped taking my one daily aspirin today... two weeks till surgery!
  5. Mine had me stop taking aspirin two weeks before surgery.
  6. My Dr is having us give a self injection for a few weeks after surgery... I think for blood clots... Ill know more after the 12th and my surgeons meeting.
  7. My doc just says watch the caffein, and the acid early on. We are not supposed to drink any coffee or caffeinated tea a month before surgery....trying to avoid ulcers.
  8. Wow! So many January folks! It would be cool to have us all on a calendar, so we can keep track of who's getting the surgery when....Good luck everyone.
  9. Great job Steve! Your looking fantastic... and look at the beautiful background there....
  10. Ok, I did it. I bought a Cuisinart ICE-20 Automatic Ice Cream Maker - 1.5 Quart Capacity, Heavy Duty Motor, Double Insulated Freezer Bowl, Locking Lid, White, (Refurbished) with shipping $30. I looked on Consumer reports and they had quoted many ice cream maker tests, and the Cuisinart ice20 won them all in its class. You can get them new for about $50, but I didn't want to pay that much. You can find youtube videos showing what it looks like when its working and such. So I went on ebay first, and did some bidding, but with shipping, it looked like they were going for about the new price. I googled the machine, and found the one below for $30 with shipping. Ill let you know how it works. I guess it comes out kind of softish, you put it in the freezer for an hour or two and its perfectly scoopable. 3-7 days to ship. I get my surgery in 15 days...should be a good match! I just found some organic blueberry Protein mix... this might be great as an "ice cream", later, crushing in some fresh blueberries.... http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=6311169&SRCCODE=GOOGLEBASE&cm_mmc_o=VRqCjC7BBTkwCjCECjCE
  11. Ive been bidding on an icecream maker on ebay...Ill get one yet!
  12. At two and a half months, you could be experiencing an awful stall. You did lose a bunch before surgery, and some after... perhaps your body is just holding on for dear life. The two protein shakes and small meal might not be a bad idea... thats seems like about the right amount of food anyway. Use Fitday.com and figure out your carbs and calories just for info. Give this more time... 2 1/2 months is not THAT long. I would find a nutrutionist to talk to, keep logs of your intake so she/he can see for themselves what you have been doing. Write down the water and when your drinking it too...any exercise. Good luck! It will come off, just stay on plan. YOu can find examples of plans here if you don't feel like your Drs plan is clear enough.....
  13. I know people put a lot of work into setting up and maintaining this forum, I don't begrudge them making some money from ads, but this forum and its adds are just plain ugly and distracting now. Repeating the same add over and over all over the place looks trashy. I actually don't mind seeing how much Drs charge for the sleeve and other surgeries, but the plastering of adds, and the sick color combinations is too much. If there was someplace else to get the great comradeship and information as here, I would go. I'm sure I am not alone there.... The heart of this place is the people, and consideration of them will get MORE people to stick around once they get here...
  14. So the question is... if we get much of our needed water from the foods we eat, and we start eating MUCH less food, and protein at that...We would probably need to drink more water (or water containing drinks) to make up what we don't get in our food now? So how much water did we used to get from our food consumption. I know I used to make soup allot, and eats TONS of veggies that I wont be able to get in with the sleeve... so perhaps the 64os is pretty close to what I need to supplement with. I know I like water, but seldom drank 64 ozs a day unless it was damn hot and dry.
  15. Did you guys look at this vid? It discusses the "brain" in the gut....who knows, perhaps that brain has a mental illness that causes it to want to eat...and when its removed, the illness is removed too.....just saying.....
  16. Some lentils have the tough skin like the greenish ones, and some soft skins, like the tiny orange ones... I would think if they really cook down to a smooth paste, then they would be just fine. You can get skinned dried fava beans in middle eastern stores too, they cook down smooth. Garbanzo beans can be blended like in Hummus...
  17. Fantastic job girl! Happy New Year to you.
  18. Im so happy for you! Thats just great. And awesome inspiration for us all.
  19. It has to be Water weight, no one can eat only 500 cals a day and stay the same forever. You are on a classic stall. It must be so frustrating for you! Just keep up the good work, and you will see the numbers go down. You might even eat a few hundred more calories for a few days and see if that helps. Measure yourself with a tape, perhaps you are losing inches. Hang in there!
  20. 18th here too... I meet with the surgeon on the 12th... I think I will believe it a little more then! Good luck all...
  21. Steve, I found this site for NZ sleevers... http://www.gastricsleevesupport.com/sleevers-new-zealand-f33/kiwi-sleevers-t1575.htm
  22. Don't be shy about the coordination thing, improved coordination is a great thing to work on too! Wouldn't it be great to be the cousin that CAN can dance at the wedding? I have been taking dance lessons for 2 1/2 years, and my coordination is MUCH better!
  23. Usually its a BMI of 40 or between 35-40 with co morbidities like diabetes, sleep apnea, high blood pressure, high cholesterol or triglicerides... there are charts on the internet you can check what you are at...
