  1. yummmmm dreamfields... I made a zucchini/mushroom/dreamfields pasta bake a couple of days ago... so good! Sort of like lasagna. I have to eat what I like, and most of the time that is perfectly health stuff... once in a while, not so much... but I really depend on restriction too. Sometime I add in more veggies if I feel like I need to eat more and don't have the calories to spare. Im sure many "normal" people do the same. Its all about having the right stuff ready to eat in the house ready to grab. When I go out I rely on restriction only, and its working!
  2. This is a great time to make life style changes. A little change can make a big difference in the long run. Coming here has really helped me in so many ways too. Its a remarkable place filled with remarkable people! Someone should make a movie...Oprah where are you!

Gonna Get To Goal. Wanna Join Me?

Coops, My weight is stuck, but I have lost a little in the measurement department. The body IS a funny thing! I sure as heck cant figure mine out! I just found some Ralph Lauren summer pants at the thrift store in a size 12 that fit (almost too tight... which looks pretty good if I do say so myself!) I think the fat is shifting around or something. I remember Tiffikins saying something about that a while ago... same weight, different shape.
  4. I lost 89% in the first year. And I ate carbs and vegetarian. It's a miracle!

Gonna Get To Goal. Wanna Join Me?

174 this morning. My low which I only achieved on 3 days over about 3 months...was 170.4. I slowed almost to a stop for the last 3 months. I had gained 3 pounds over holidays, then lost it, then sort of bounced around the 3+ pounds molstly at the high end. sad face. I do pretty much eat what I want...not always good... but I do write everything down and keep the cals between 1200- 1400 most days. I walk 2+ days a week for about 45mins-hour , take bellydance dance classes twice a week at 1+ hours each. At work I sit a lot and walk around and do stuff some times too. I have a walking class, and that is when i get my walk in most of the time. I think I might be at my low weight....but I guess I could still lose a pound or so. I am still 7-9 pounds from my modest goal of 165, 5' 81/2" tall. My measurements did go down in the last month though, a little. NOT from my boobs! So that is fab! I guess time will tell... what our actions result in. I hope I can lose a few, and not end up weighing more than I do now. I like myself... flabby and all....I look pretty sleek in clothing, so that has been fun. My husband does not want me to lose more. He is trying to eat better, and that is a good thing that had rubbed off on him. I guess over the next months and years we will see! Stay in touch everyone, its nice to talk with others in the same "boat".

    Where are the 50s ???

Best of luck to all you gals! It is a transformational experience. I get to see my demons close up, I get to experience quick change, I get to be seen in a different way, to do a positive make over. Get into fighting weight so I can go have more adventures and be up for it physically and mentally. Getting geared up to meet some goals. To set some goals that reflect my higher self. To practice some grace and loving kindness. This weight loss thing has been something I have felt a failure at....so now I just might be able to say I am not a failure at this any more....and set that down too. More power to you all for going this way and having these new opportunities opening up in your life.

  14. Best thing to do is call your doc and ask him. If it gets worse, go to ER.

    Where are the 50s ???

My skinny Dentist called me "String Bean" yesterday! Hilarious! I'm far from a string bean at 172 pounds, but I guess the contrast from where I came from and now makes me look like a string bean. I loved hearing it!
  17. sounds good! Dreamfields pasta http://www.dreamfiel...-nutrition.html 1/2 serving is a TON. Tastes like any good pasta. Not TOO expensive. At many regular grocery stores in the pasta isle. Lacto/ovo vegetarian. Still love my greek yogurt and a good soft boiled omega 3 egg now and then.
  21. Sally... So glad you found someone here to connect with. The sleeve will work, but if you read a lot of the subjects here, you know it just takes time and nothing you can do will rush it. You are still early out and your body still does not know what you have done to it! You much love your body.... it is keeping you alive, and healing right now... and needs your tenderness. Be kind to yourself, and eat right and drink your water, and get some exercise... the weight will come off. Also... many many people here get a stall in their weight loss at around 2 1/2- 3 weeks. and it can last for WEEKS! this is normal and you are not doing anything wrong. Relax and take care of yourself.
  22. My B12 was low even before the surgery, I take one tab under the tongue 4 times a week to keep my labs looking good. I eat about 6 meals a day... or small meals and snacks. I keep up on my protein... +65 gms a day most of the time... sometimes more. My energy is pretty good... I do need my sleep... and don't get enough. I take a dance class twice a week, and keep up well among the "young'uns" I teach and have to run around after people at times without problems. Have your blood work done to see where you are... you need to take calcium too... and Iron if you are pre-menopausal. Try using Fitday.com or Myfitnesspal.com to track your calories and protein.... after doing this for a while... a week or so, check back and I or someone else would be happy to take a look at what your eating and comment on it.
  23. Its nice to be close to your Dr if problems arise and for follow up....if money is no object that is.....Your insurance does not cover the sleeve?

    California Sleevers.....

Sacramento here, I went to Dr Alli at UC Davis Med center. They do follow ups to keep records, and address my skills to support success (Nut visits, psych visit at 2 weeks, 3 months, 6 months one year two year), but my regular GP could to this too... she does blood tests for me and is generally supportive. I think the blood tests are the most important. If you have an emergency, theres always the emergency room. Does your med plan have an advice nurse you can call with questions?
