How was your 5:2 day today?
feedyoureye replied to Oregondaisy's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Im in the danger zone, mom in law is in town. We went to San Fran to pic her up yesterday, lunch out in Berkely, but not to bad there. Snacks for dinner, nuts, cake, crackers and cheese.... did not gain, in face lost a pound and a half... after what I ate this last weekend, I guess this was a diet day! Anyway.... I am going to weight in every morning come what may, and try not to let this visit turn out like the one a couple of years ago where I gained 15!. Going out this weekend, will be hiking, kayaking and some physical stuff so hope to keep up with the foodie atmosphere. I cam cooking 2-3 of the meals for the group, so can control those anyway.... Went by a farm stand on the way home from SF, and bought local melons, a winter squash which I will cook in a pineapple salsa and serve with Ferro or something like that. Will also make a low gluten ancient grains spice cake of some kind with raisins and other dried fruit to have with coffee. Portion control is where its at this weekend. ...is it just me or is spellcheck just getting worse and worse! -

I had a fantastic weekend, the dog and I drove upstate and we went to 7 different national and state wildlife reserves to birdwatch. Heavenly.....except for the doggie who was completely mental most of the time. She would wine, pant, bark and generality beg on me for food and who knows what most of the time. Usually she runs out of steam and just wants a ride in the dog stroller or dog pappoose (sp?) but not this time, she wanted to walk all of the time... that goes for when she was in the car as well. When we got home, she crashed for 12 hours in her bed.... little ragbag almost became cougar food! It was beautiful though, lots of nature, and the fields and fields of walnut trees, alfalfa and other crops were beautiful too. BUT I ate at restaurants the whole time, with Starbucks in-between for coffee/pastery and wifi... I gained 2 pounds Fasting today.... Mom in law coming tomorrow.... wish me luck! -
It appears that Mystie posted here for 2-3 days in June 2013 and that was it. For all we know, it was a hoax.

got sleeve done 8/4/14..really stressing over this protein...ahhhhh
feedyoureye replied to APURNELL's topic in The Gals' Room
Check the label, most of those shots are heavy in low quality collagen protein (made from animal skin) . I was told not to bother with anything but whey isolate. I was tempted too, but they are not lacto/vegetarian, which I am. -
If you haven't already, do it in the morning. You are a dedicated young lady after all....

Any girl willing to send some tips for another women

1.You have to continue to watch your weight after you get to goal. 2.It is easier to get pregnant while you are losing weight. 3.Your feet will most likely get colder your first winter after surgery than before surgery. -

I usually fast on Mon and Ths, but I decided to fast today because I am on holiday for the next three days, and I knew it would be hard to keep it up tomorrow on the road. So far so good... Weds are tricky as they are staff meeting day, and there are always treats... luckily, today there were none so it was easy enough to stay on plan. I should clock in at around 540 by bedtime. How is your day gals? -

I might have mentioned this before, but i have a tendency to have some anxiety as well...it runs in the family. I suspect I have some cortisol or adrenal problems... , my dad and mom both have/had Atrial Fibrillation, as do I, and my dad had his heart stop from Takotsubo cardiomyopathy (broken-heart syndrome) a few years ago, which they think is caused by stress hormones. I steer clear of caffein or any stimulant really, which makes me feel like total shit, and when I get that "funny feeling" I take about 2T of nutritional yeast, add to a little water and glug it down. This seems to take the edge off of the anxiety within 15 minutes or so. I recommend it, its worth a try anyway! For me its not really a "thinking" problem, but a chemical one... which may be one and the same...don't know... -

A half a slice of pizza will not blow up your liver. You should not have eaten it, but really.... drink your water, do the right thing now and you will be fine. DO follow your diet after surgery. That is when the real damage can happen from bingeing, avoiding vitamins or not drinking your water. Move on with your plan and you will be fine. My liver shrink diet was only two days of liquids. -
I have to say, you are still pretty early out. I had surgery 3 1/2 years ago and I def look better now than at year one. My face looked haggard, my neck was more turkey than lady, and my thighs were creased. Now all three of these things are better, from exercise, Water and time. Give yourself a break, and worry about that later when you are really at the end of your weight loss and recovery.

People do say "I see you haven't gained the weight back" and I just say "thats right". No one has been really mean to my face, except one guy that I work with who told me he liked how I looked a lot better before I lost the weight...but who knows about behind my back?! I sure have gained lost gained lost in the past, like just about everybody else on diets. It really is normal to gain it all back. We are abnormal ladies and gents! And SOOOO happy for it!

Swiz, dump it all here! This is the right place. NO it does not end me up where you are, it is good to know others have a hard time at times too, and we CAN make our way out of it. We have done it before an we will do it again. After a few days it seems to get a little easier. I know you know all of these ideas, but I have to remind myself now and then.... ~Have the right food in the house ~Have some of it pre-prepared for easy access, portioned, frozen or not...I just bought 30 days worth of Wonderslim veg chili.... 100 calls, ready to microwave...not really cheap... but I like it, and when i need a fast day meal for small calories... I use it. ~Have easy to go to snacks that will fill you up and/occupy your hands and mouth quick. I even keep "junk" like snacks around... I order on line, high protein, crunchy, cheesy, lower calorie chips and such. ~Find a way to get the water in... I make decaf iced tea that I keep in the fridge, and love crystal light peach/mango green tea. ~When I am feeling impulsive, usually from some emotional stress, or that addictive impulse... I had better have something "go to" or I am sunk. Even this does not work all the time, but sometimes is usually enough... or better than the alternative! The junk part is for when Im really feeling rough...I like to eat pretty clean most days... but some days are just too hard to do that! We can do it! -

Sounds good! I have been trying to stay on the straight and narrow this week... I lost 2 pounds... and am now a little less than 6 pounds from goal. The 22nd is my anniversary, and we may go out to eat, but that doesn't need to stop me from fasting the rest of the day. I have GOT to make this work and not cave to excuses any longer. Cathy! An Oxford boy! you must be so proud! What are your boys studying? -
