Are these things Normal??
feedyoureye replied to Just Sleeved's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That hunger may well be stomach acid. Are you taking a PPI? Read up here, there are lots of posts on it. -
Nervous about taking an NSAID for the first time since surgery!
feedyoureye replied to Strwberriekissesrbetter's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I take one adult size aspirin every morning after eating per my cardiologists orders. Thats why (one of the reasons) I got the sleeve. So far so good. I do make sure I have something in my tummy at the same time though... I re-started this at 6 weeks. -
To Go or Not to Go Back to the ER

Wow! I have a good feeling about this... I think as your stomach naturally continues to heal, you will just feel better and better. -
I gained a pound
feedyoureye replied to samantha209's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Girlfriend! Back off the ledge! One pound gained does not a stall make! Let your body do its thing, it is often mysterious. You are doing everything right and sometimes the body just does not want to lose for a day or two... this is NORMAL. If you look at my weight loss patterns.. it is UP-DOWN-STAY the same, UP-DOWN-STAY the same, UP-DOWN-STAY the same... and on and on. Trust your sleeve, follow your plan, and the weight will keep heading down in the right direction however fast it deems fit. A true stall lasts about 3 weeks....this might happen too even if you are following the rules, pull out your ZEN and make something nice for dinner (on the plan of course). (and the exercise suggestions are great too) -

One tablespoon of Metamucil in my protein drink in the am, and all is well. I tried Benifiber, and it didn't work. -

Sorry your feeling so poorly, You will feel better in no time. Yes, take it from those that have been through it, the gurgling hunger is stomach acid. Get your Doc to recommend a PPI. It will make you feel lots better. Also, the hunger hormone is still in your system, even if you are one of us that feels some hunger, when the hormone is lower, you wont feel as much hunger as you used to. Take care. -
SO much fluid retention after surgery!
feedyoureye replied to shannoninathens's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
How scary and frustrating for you! I had not complications, but did gain 10 pounds from the IV. I remember reading on here someone who had gained over 20 from the IV. It will come off, just drink as much as you can, and keep to the plan. It will get better. -
You are doing fantastic! I am hovering at 800, but seem to want to move towards 900 the last week or so... I am losing a little faster eating a little bit more...

hahahahaha! -
There is some studies that imply that ghrelin has something to do with the bodies thermostat...many posts on here about feeling cold. I still once in a while get cold feet... they are not always cold to the touch, just feel cold to me. Also, I was all through with hot flashes before the surgery, and bam! Hot flashes all over again now... the body releases hormones stored in the fat as we burn it off.. .perhaps this has something to do with it....

Nectar Whey Protein Isolate
feedyoureye replied to Shanny's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I prefer 4-ever-fit, from Vitamin world or Vitamin Shoppe. I have tried the mango, the black raspberry and the strawberry/kiwi.... the strawberry/kiwi is way more natural tasting than the nectar brand of the same flavor. In fact I just bought two big jugs of the stuff today. I got a 30% off coupon in the mail from Vitamin world. I also like to mix the flavors and make a punch flavor... I also ad my Fiber powder to it, and its quite nice. They even make Protein powders with all natural fruit flavors.(a little less protein and a little more calories, but I bet they are good) http://www.vitaminworld.com/protein-products-622/fruit-blast-isolate-protein-tropical-mango-077987 -
has losing weight made you look older?
feedyoureye replied to juzmejnee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not yet... I do see some more wrinkles... on my lower arms! If i put them over my head and look up, my arms are all wrinkie....I have a little bit of turkey neck, but all in all, I look better than before, I still have 40 pounds to lose, so I will just have to wait and see.... -
Top of the Seventh: It's just a stomach.
feedyoureye replied to crosswind's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I follow the protein first rule, so when i eat the treats, I focus on high protein, such as the low carb/high protein baking mix. Just mixing it up with the sources. I do have chocolate or something now and then, but its all in the plan and written down....and very small amounts for sure. I don't think I ever got as much protein as I do now... this may have been part of my prob in the past... -
