I stalled for over 20 days starting week two. This is pretty normal. If you are doing everything your Doc wants, than you are doing your part, and things will move when your body is ready. Hang in there Kerry!

Has anyone had their Dr's not support their WLS decision?
feedyoureye replied to ginajeans's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I was lucky that my med team were all supportive, but my best friend, who is a Doc was not. She did say she would support me in any way she could, but did not personally think it was a good idea. She has been out of town working for months, and has not seen me yet minus the 62 pounds... so I expect she might change her mind when she sees that! -

Read up on (search) the three week stall. Many get it, I did for 20 days. Your body is still healing, and your body is trying to figure out what the heck you did to it. relax, do what the Doc and Nut said to do, and the weight will come off. You must to do your part, and the sleeve will do its part. You don't have that much to lose, so hang in there, it will come off slower than some, but who cares as long as it comes off! I see you both have lost weight... so its not like you have lost nothing! Just keep on plan. You will see! I am losing about 7 pounds a month right now... it is slow, but going in the right direction. Im happy about it! The slower you lose, the more your skin has a chance to tighten up as you go. My nut said expect 10 pounds a month, and most months have been about that... but slowing down a little the last two months.

Thin women always worry about their necks! You have such a beautiful face, and your so sporty now, thats really the impression you leave, not of a strange neck. I really work my neck in my dance class hoping to get the very look you have! My tendons do show up more now... better than what was there before! Tell those kids to hop on the shut-up train!

Grrrrrrr! Girl! My hubby is 12 years younger...You sound like you are doing great!

I wear compression garments some of the time. They make you look smother while you wear them but I don't know if they work to permanently smooth the skin. Some Drs do recommend them for other surgeries... its worth a try!

Eating Protein vs Drinking Protein - please advise
feedyoureye replied to To Be Thin 2011's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The shots are made with a protein (made from animal skin) that does not have all the amino acids you need to get complete protein. Most of the isolate drinks have complete protein. If you can't do anything else, then the shots are better than nothing, but the drinks or real food is better. Protein is not absorbed in the stomach, but fullness is gotten from food that stays in the stomach for a while...dense proteins like meat, cheese, beans, tofu, gluten.... this is the benefit of eating your protein. I have read about people that get addicted to soft food, or liquid, and stop eating real food. I think this might be some of the warning to not rely on drinks for your protein. -
Will it work for me - if I can, I will cheat
feedyoureye replied to pingu's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think an important step for you would to keep track of EVERYTHING you put in your mouth. Use fitday.com or an other on line service. Those calories really add up, and mindless eating will get you in the end with or without surgery. Those little Haribo bears, are 50 calories for 15 gms. In the beginning you can only eat 300 calories a day! And most of that must be Protein. I see you don't eat much protein now... I didn't before surgery either. If you can keep your protein first, you will probably be OK. This will be a big change in eating habits. Something I do is include (2) gummy Fiber every other day or so... a couple really help the old fiber intake and are a treat. http://www.cvs.com/CVSApp/catalog/shop_product_detail.jsp?skuId=789277&productId=789277&WT.mc_id=Shopping_Feed_Products_Google_Free_Listing They do have calories, so only a couple! -
OK, so officially I have been on a plateau between 224-226 lbs for 20 days. I am almost 6 weeks out, so this is the dreaded three week stall... started at three weeks, and lasted for three weeks too! I probably weigh myself too often, but even if I weigh once a week, I would still stay the same for three weigh ins. I'm pretty sure I am doing everything I should. The body is just saying NO right now. I get to start going to the gym again in a few days... so Im hoping that will boost the loss. Wah Wah Wah! Thanks for letting me cry a little!

I know stalls are normal....but....
feedyoureye replied to feedyoureye's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
And as you can see, I am down over 27 pounds from that time. I have had several more "stalls" of 7-10 days... its just the body doing its thing. Follow the plan, step up where you need to, and keep your mind positive and on something else until the scale moves! It will work. -
What has been the most shocking comment about the sleeve at any stage (pre-op, post-op) or about your weight loss?
feedyoureye replied to Becca's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
hahahaha! Funny, and a good response too. Good thing you weren't on crack! That would not have been funny... I'm thinking that lil'crack might be a good nick name for my stomach.... -

How about adding another scoop of protein to your shake, or even a couple of teaspoons of flax oil? -

Sad story. -
I definitely see more wrinkles, that I have never seen before.... I also see muscles too... which is the up side. My arms def look older... but so far I think that being wrinkled is better than being fat, with less wrinkles... I will be 58 this wednesday.

Help! 3 weeks out and I've stopped losing weight
feedyoureye replied to TynMcsMom's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Stalls are normal. It probably will not be your last. 80 pounds is so great! I would just keep up the good work, and start doing some more activities... find something you like, like dancing, sports or joining friends for walking the dog. Its a lot easier to do those kinds of activities than something you think is a chore. -
Kinda thought things would be better by now

I've always thought if I was single I would check out meetup.com. You can participate in activities with others that like the same things. http://www.meetup.com/ -
