Soooo cute! If I were wearing a bathing suit, you could see for yourself, you will have to take my word for it! I am trying to just lose fat right now... Thanks though! I do feel 100% better and can rock some cloths like I haven't been able to for a loooong time! Here is a dress I wore to a party this weekend... the thing about the black is all the details just drop out in photos... you get the idea though....
  6. I have a friend who was in a major car accident over 20 years ago... she ended up having a large part of her stomach removed, and lost a bunch of weight. She kept it off until she became more sedentary from illness (she is in a wheelchair from the accident) and married a gourmet chef! She was never coached on how to manage her new sleeve, in fact they never told her anything about what was done until years later....When she eats protein first, she can still lose weight.....when she eats lots of cookies and such, it comes right back on.
  7. 30 days, 3 pounds. At least its in the right direction! Part of that time I gained 2 pounds..... The body does what it wants... just keep on with the good habits as much as you can.

I don't think thats silly at all! I bought a couple, and waited to get into them...Like the the one I am wearing in the photo. I am losing very slowly now, but hope to get down a size or two more... I have a small stack of "a little too small" cloths I have bought for the future. I didn't pay too much for them, and will give them to someone else if I don't get there... but I think I will get there! Gotta love the sleeve!

Thanks everyone.... feeling much more like "myself" Thanks Girlie! Thats whats nice about a little black dress! It is very slimming! I look pretty good in cloths, but underneath......... God bless 3/4 sleeves! I had my body fat tested a couple of weeks ago, and I def have 20 more pounds to go....gotta keep the muscle though... That will put me 4 pounds below the very top of the Normal BMI range. I'm thinking about that three year "bounce". I wouldn't mind too much if I bounce to where I am right now. Thanks!

    losing too much too fast…

Water is the most important thing, but protein and even carbs will make you feel so much better. You might have had a bunch of water weight, which comes off fast, but you don't want to lose a bunch of muscle, so work on the protein even if you don't like how it tastes, its you medicine right now. Things will get easier as time goes on.

Here goes girl! I have a closet of little black dresses that are too big now! I found a duplicate of my favorite one in a thrift store in a M... I usually fit a L but this one fits just fine.

    Bike-riding

I have a 3 speed Electra fat tire town bike that is a lot of fun. I live across a river from town, and occasionally ride through the nature bike trail over the river to town to get coffee and enjoy the city life (about 6 miles round trip). I am using it a little more after losing some weight, but enjoyed it when heavier too.
  16. ...and you look so much younger too! Congrats1

    Am I pigging out alone???

I would take this opportunity to log all that you eat "normally" on fitday.com or something like that. Fitday also has a function where you can see the progression of your weight loss on a graph, and starting it now gives you the whole picture from before surgery on...Perhaps every other day add a good habit that you will need to follow...stop drinking with meals is a really good one to get used to...Cold turkey after surgery is being pretty cruel to yourself... Face it, we are not eating "normally" before surgery, or we wouldn't be extra fat! Also, if you lose a little before surgery, you don't have to lose it after.... and getting in your exercise now helps with your health in surgery, and you will have to start walking right after surgery and it might make that a little easier at a time when you are feeling more or less like cr@p. Congrats on your date. Plan on eating some things you like now for sure, just don't "Pig out" you are only hurting yourself.

    Longterm Weight Loss Stories???

I don't think that there is anyone on here with 5 years of sleevetime. If there is, speak up! If you search medical journals you can find some new 5 year studies with stats. Some of them mention that weight gain is more common around 3 years. I did not look like many people gained all their weight back though....Google has a "more" category at the top of the search options, then Scholar where you can search med papers for your information. There have been some of them posted here too, in the last month, but I don't remember where... look under research for a start.
  20. Yikes! That hurts! It looks like DH had a combo of facing "the mom" and being at a loss for words, (OK, not nice, but it wasn't his surgery and he is probably not practiced in talking or even thinking about it) and the friend....holy cow. Sounds like jealousy. I hope she thinks better of it and apologizes soon!
  21. 7 1/2 months, down 62 pounds (75%ewl) 20 to go...
