Poll: Do you eat your exercise calories?
feedyoureye replied to SeattleSue's topic in Fitness & Exercise
If you still have body fat, your body will burn that when it runs out of calories from food intake... thats the point of this plan, yes? After we lose all the fat we need to, then moderating calorie intake and exercise might have to happen. -

goal at one year (85%EW lost) 165- 183 WOW! If I include the 10 pounds I lost before surgery, I am at the top of my 85% goal right now…. at 8 months. The bottom of that range is actually my final goal… 165. I have not lost any weight in 4 weeks, and hope I can shake off this stall soon and finish losing my EW.

Flunked Cardiac Stress Test
feedyoureye replied to azsenior's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Honestly, its great that they found whatever is the problem... you don't want an undiagnosed heart problem... but that PCP needs a knock in the head! My cardiologist was happy I was getting the sleeve, hope yours will too! I had to get a letter of approval from him.... -
TO THE SLEEVERS WHO ACHIEVED THEIR GOALS
feedyoureye replied to brazcan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am less than 20 pounds form goal, and have stayed about the same weight for a month now. That is while eating 1100-1200 a day and exercising 5 days a week... I'm not sure if I will even reach my modest goal at this amount. I guess time will tell. -

What did you do girlfriend!? Drink a gallon of salt water!? Perhaps you forgot to take off the new cowboy boots? -
I took this test before surgery and 8 months after surgery... http://www.realage.com/ Before surgery my real age was 60.... after surgery it was 55.... I am 58 years old. This surgery and my lifestyle changes have gained me 5 years from what it was before surgery! I less than a year. Not bad. If I do a few more simple things, it can go down even more. This website gives you a list of things you can do to get even better results the next time you update your test.

I am about 8 months out, and at my last checkup (about two weeks ago) I asked if it was OK for me to get off the PPI acid reducer. I have had pretty good luck with not having acid problems using the Omeprazole, except maybe 1 week of some breakthrough acid. Before surgery if I ate well, not too much junk or chocolate, I was fine. Acid problems were directly related to what I ate. Well about 10 days ago I quit the Omeprazole cold turkey. So far so good! I do watch the chili, which I used to love but bothers my stomach a little now... I eat some chocolate every day, but just a table spoon or so....and so far, no acid problems. Have any of you never taken PPIs (My doc insisted I go on them for one mont before and 6 months after surgery) or stopped after surgery? I am worried about the calcium absorption on PPIs....that is the main reason I went off.

getting off of the PPIs
feedyoureye replied to feedyoureye's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I saw a research paper lately that showed a graph of the correlation of acid and weight gain... it showed higher acid after surgery, lowering during the middle phase (till about 2 years I think it was) then it raised right along with weight gain... so it looks kind of like if you slip back to earlier eating patterns the acid increases with the regain....if I find the study I will post... it is on this site somewhere else... maybe research?.. -
getting off of the PPIs
feedyoureye replied to feedyoureye's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Some say that the acid mimics hunger... I know that my stomach used to make the most crazy noises... I'm sure it must have been acid doing its thing....even with the PPI, I don't think I am feeling more hunger now, after stoping, but we will see! I am one of those people that always had some hunger... it never totally went away. I have had no reflux and only a little bit of acid stomach feeling for about a week while I was still taking the PPI.
