Gastric Sleeve Bougie Size?
feedyoureye replied to Felicia's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
...just a technicality.... but we don't have a pouch, that is a term used for a RNY stomach... we have a sleeve. They are built differently. I have a 36... but surgeons make them loose, tight, oversewn, glued, larger at the pylorus end...and with no bougie at all as mentioned above... the bougie number only tells part of the story. I agree too small can cause problems, but if you have a good and experienced surgeon, the size will be fine Im sure. -

Good luck dear. I hear you about the relief... that tells a powerful story.

I dance twice a week, with squats as part of the warmup... and walk twice a week for about 45-60 minutes... But i need more... When I was fat, the class really made the butt look "proud", but with the melting of the fat... proud no more. :^( On the up side the legs look pretty good... wearing short skirts for a change!

Let me be frank... first you are looking fantastic and the new pants are cute. Second, I am SO jealous! You still have an a$$! Mine is more like two pancakes sliding down the wall. I would give back 5 pounds for a little more a$$. Your body looks great in those pants. Do you think the boxing helps the backsides? Cheers.

SEX...TMI??? I Know But I Gotta "ASK"!!!
feedyoureye replied to EnjoyingWhoIAmBecoming's topic in The Gals' Room
OUCH! Thats the kind of talk that leaves my husband with NO sex. Who wants to make love to that! So sorry you have to listen to that. You have done the right thing, and your health must be much improved... perhaps couples counseling? Best of luck.... -
Loose skin rebound
feedyoureye replied to sleeve 4 me's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am not at goal yet, but at almost 10 months some of my lose skin seems to be shrinking. I have high hopes this will continue! My legs/inside thighs already look "good enough", the arms are better then expected, the stomach is ok. The butt is still saggy and the back (above bra on sides) is the worst. When leaning over and looking in the mirror, all bets are off! Gravity is not my friend. Luckily, I do not plan on using the jungle gym anytime soon! I am 58 so there is hope for you! -

Im guessing that most of the people here are also going from large to small and might not have size 8th if they need size 14s and such... Perhaps a weight GAIN forum? -
Most department stores carry them, target, walmart, and higher end like Macys... if you need a bigger size to get you though, Lane Bryant. I can even still wear some of my bigger ones... they are so stretchy... but probably need to get new ones soon to really get the job done right! You can get them on line too. I have even found them at Ross and thrift stores.

You take care dear, best of luck with this final surgery! Running like the wind is a GREAT goal! -
I had to come to the sad conclusion that just loving someone may not mean we are meant to be together forever. This may not be the case for you and him.. but then again.... I have had to "cut him loose", and it was hard, but I have to say, that after the event, I felt much better... Best of luck in your relationship.

Baby spoon????
feedyoureye replied to sweetness2005's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
early on i did, and sometimes now.. but I still prefer my sterling spoons and small desert forks. They make me feel special, and I like the way silver tastes over plastic or other metals. I do have a huge stack of small dinner ware... I love my little bowls. TIP: check out the asian markets, they have some beautiful small bowls and plates for a good price too. The small bento boxes are great for taking lunch to work too, in style. -
I eat crap more often than I should for sure, and it slides on down pretty easy. What I do to keep things in control is write everything down. I do count calories. The other thing that works is eat protein first... I promise my "fat me" that she can have the cookie after the protein. The the cookie turns out to be just one and not a stack. Just no room for a stack after protein. I also buy high protein snacks on line... chips, and cereal and protein bars... when I want something crunchy or sweet or snacky, I reach for those most of the time. It gets me through the rough patches... and yes, I do work on my self too... and try to stay conscious while all this is going on... not unconscious... which leads to eating piles of crap and getting too full without really enjoying the food in the first place! This is a huge chance to grow and become the new you!

Severe pain under rib cage, is this gas pain?
feedyoureye replied to sirensiren's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
For a while, it will be hard to tell what the heck all the feelings and non feelings are! If you do have severe pain, check with your doc ASAP. Many of them are normal, but not all of them are. The gas they use to pump up the abdominal cavity is mostly sucked out when they complete the surgery, but sometimes there is some left there... thats why the pains are ofter in the shoulder or up higher... the gas migrates up. It will be absorbed into the body sooner or later, and walking keeps it moving and absorbing I guess! The shoulder pain lasted for a couple of weeks for me, and got less and less as I kept walking.
