  1. You will NOT lose weight every day or even every week... later on maybe not even every month! Just stay on track, and your body will lose weight in its own time.

I'm Sleeved And I Have Some Questions

Are you taking a PPI? I had chewable one prescribed for me. My doc had me on them for 6 months. Also... is the vitamin water a little sour? I would stick with plane water, warm peppermint or camomile tea....early out... good luck with that...

Hahaha! I also have to practice artful letter replacement Wh0re! Lets see if that gets though... Almost all of my closet has been changed over... except a few WAY oversized sweaters, socks, a jacket or two that were tight before... the rest is gone. I gave a bunch to my co workers and students, then the rest went to Goodwill. I still get that feeling from time to time..."what if I gain some of the weight back and have to buy all new clothing AGAIN?" Scary. I am even giving my in between sizes away.. Im in a 13-14 pant, and have given away most of my 16s... Im showing faith! I do have a couple of 22s for the "big old clothing try to fit in one leg of your fat pants photo" I still dont know if I will be able to do that, but I would love it if I could!
  4. I only gained .2 pounds over Thanksgiving! I love my sleeve!

    I'm Bulimic And Getting Vsg

I see people every day on this site post that they are going CRAZY because they are not losing weight "fast enough" or are on a stall... What am I doing wrong? What can I do to start losing weight again? What can I do to lose faster? ...and generally feeling out of control of their bodies and life experience. The sleeve does help us to lose weight and if we follow the rules, and have faith in the process, and develop patients and a long view, it works. If you have a chronic go-to like purging or starving or overexercising or using sugars as a sedation drug... the temptation to practice them will still be intense! This is not to keep you away from researching the sleeve, but to really understand that it is not a quick fix! It is not brain surgery. Best of luck to you, and surgery may be great for you to lose weight... just make sure you have the other stuff in hand first.
  6. At a year you are still losing 5 pounds a month, that is great! That will take the weight where you want it to be. I am losing between 2-3 pounds a month at 10 months...(January 18th will be my one year ...I have lost 83 pounds so far) I will get there too. You have done great, and will be there sometime this next year. In the meantime, enjoy your new life. You are so close!

    Lost 201 Pounds

    Fantastic! Enjoy!
  8. This experience can really be a roller coaster ride! It is hard not to be pushed around by the number on the scales. Do measure other ways, tape, how the clothing fits and how you feel. All these added together make for a more accurate measure of where your at. I decided to weigh and log it everyday, and really work on not letting it make me sad or high. After almost a year, I can do this pretty well. It is just a tool as well... not who we truly are...or a measure of our true worth.

    Gastric Sleeve Bougie Size?

Some people have shorter or longer stomachs too... so the sleeve can hold more or less....
  10. Feels good huh? Happy Thanksgiving to you too.
  11. slow and steady wins the race!
  12. :^) keep up the good work! Awesome!
  13. Stop worrying ladies! All is fine. Drink your water... get in as much protein as you can. RESTRICTION does not happen for real until weeks later... everyone stomach had different swelling and such, so you just cant tell how things will go until they actually go for a while. Enjoy your Thanksgiving. When I eat out now, its all about the company, not the food. I am thankful for that!

I'm Sleeved And I Have Some Questions

Love your icon! It sound normal to me... just take it slow, sip sip sip. I kept baby sippy cups full of water...with 48oz measured out so I could tell when I had had the bare minimum.Warm peppermint or camomile tea were nice. Your insides were cut and stitched... and don't know what to think of you right now! The good news is it gets better every day. The chest pains could be gas... they fill you up when doing the surgery to keep everything open and not all squished up inside... the gas pains have the tendency to be felt in the chest or shoulder. Walk asap.... even a little every hour or so. My doc said walk to the mail box. Things will get better soon... welcome to the losers bench!

    What kind of Protein drinks?

I think the powders are better than the premade for the most part. You can use water, milk or soy milk to help change the flavor or up the protein with the powder. You can also mix flavors or add extracts or PB2 to mask the whey flavor, which can be strong sometimes. I started out with milky flavors, but now use only fruity non milky... just like them better. I use 4-ever-fit and really like it. Not tooo strong. low cal, low carb.

    Skinny girl issues...WTH!!!!!

You do not need to buy into her sickness. She is good at pushing your buttons, unless you just don't let her. "I'm not interested in playing your competitive games" Who knows what she is actually doing to get her weight off.... ... I don't wish ill will on anyone but you know, she probably will not keep it off for long.
  19. What the heck? 5'10" and 125 lbs?!! I'm 5'9" and Im shooting for 165... 125 would be underweight according to the charts... 145 sounds PERFECT!

    New Chick On The Block!

When you have the time, search the forums, and use the search function... there is advice and info on everything under the sun here! Welsome!
  21. So sorry to hear you are having these problems. This may be a red herring, but sometimes when someone has a stricture, they can't eat without vomiting. I think it is good advice to talk to a nutritionist or perhaps a physical therapist about learning how to eat again. Best of luck, K
  22. rick has said it all. I prefer more small meals...you may want to try less and see how you feel.

    Going Back To Square One!

It would be very helpful to let us know what you are eating? If it is just two salads, with no dressing, I would say Eat up girl! How many calories? How much Protein? exercise? Carbs? Water? I would have bust a gut staying the same so long! Get thee to a nutritionist! how much do you weigh? Want to lose?
  24. You are doing fine. Some folks gain weight from the IV in surgery. I gained 10 pounds during the first two days. It will come off. There is also a three week stall that is soooo disappointing... get ready for that too... and you do not feel real restriction until you get to dense protein at 4-6 weeks, so do not freak out. Just hang in there, the body is just trying to figure out what the heck you have done to it... You will start losing soon. Just make sure you drink your water, stay away from a lot of salt and walk walk walk. Good luck!
