I go through phases where I really want sweets... and eating sweets make me want MORE sweets! Its the old sweet addiction cycle. Try stocking up on some sugar free sweets, pudding, jello, yogurts, coolwhip free, that kind of thing, and when you want something sweet, go for that. for heavens sakes girl, there are sugar free lemonades out there or you can make some from scratch and use stevia if you want a better choice. I go through this too... and perhaps you are still unsettled after moving back to the states? Sound like you are hungry for something... maybe its not really food you are looking for...can you access some counciling... just someone to talk about your future with? Just guessing here. Good luck with that, and welcome back to the board! -
Fantastic, and you look so happy too!

Confused And Depressed -- I Don't Want To Regret This!
feedyoureye replied to AliveAgain's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the noises from the tummy too... sounded like water sucking down the drain! It almost went away... just now and then a little peep. As far as the sweet thing... I hated sweet in the beginning... but the approach I took was... its medicine right now. Sometimes medicine tastes yuck. The idea early out is not to stress your tummy... not make it work too hard until it starts to heal. To avoid leaks. So keep it liquid and squishy... maybe some chicken stock with a tablespoon of instant potatoes, or I used to make chai tea lates with soy... and added some unflavored whey protein powder... not too hot or it curdles....I was lactos intolerant for the first 4 months too. I drank some drinks I wouldnt touch with a ten foot pole now! But time went by quickly, and I took my medicine and now I can eat anything I like. Hang in there, the time will fly. Get help for your depression if you need to...keep up the walking and don't forget to enjoy the ride of your life! -

I used to use Pure Protein, but figured out they are not vegetarian...switched to Balance and Targets knock off brand.

Sweet potatoes are lower glycemic index than white potatoes... but eat in moderation, still lots of carbs.

OMG those shoes belong to a greek goddess! They look GREAT. I wear a 12 too... and always nice to find a cool pair of shoes. I am wearing heels now too. I have a friend who just put out a book about the derby... went to a Bay Area Bombers game a couple of months ago to help him sell his book. Have a blast in Vegas! Take pictures! -

Cute! You look fit and darling and petite! Like others have said...."baby got back" Mine is flat as a board now. Lucky! Work it Coops! -
Everyone here has a different story, and yours will be different still... I am 58 and have had an almost perfect time during and after surgery. I did feel weak and out of sorts the first couple of weeks, but by sipping and walking it got better. My work made me take 6 weeks off...because my Doc had a rule about not lifting over 10 pounds for that time, but others here have not had that problem. I would take at least two weeks off... or more just to have the chance to adjust to the new life style, and get onto some halfway normal foods before going to work. I am over one year out and really have a new life now. There are challenges... changing habits and getting up to speed.... stalls and new wrinkles and hair loss and the skin... but all in all it has been a miracle! I am so happy I did it! Most likely you will be too.

Coops, Photos put 10 pounds on you! Also, here is something out of the blue... When I was at my one year mark, I decided to measure myself, which I did. But then I took the measuring tape and held it at the high mark on all the points I measure myself just to see how it looked... it was pretty impressive. Im thinking, if you do that too, you will be able to see in a new way how much you have really taken off of the "apple" over the past year+. -
