feedyoureye replied to Puja's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Yes you can. It is unsalted and un sweetened, so you can salt it and add a sweetener if you llke, with the Water... it comes out nice and creamy without the oil. This is the stuff I use. http://www6.netrition.com/protein_plus_peanut_flour.html 110 cals and 16 gms Protein a 1/4 cup! -

[quote name=Lisa ' timestamp='1329627717' post='271380] Edamame is one of my favorite Snacks and has been for years!!! It's a complete Protein packed with all the essential amino acids. Fresh edamame is the best but I will often buy the pre cooked bags in the frozen section at Trader Joe's and heat them up in the microwave. I then throw some sea salt on them...YUM!!! TJs have them in the freezer section in the pod and out. Great snack. I like playing with my food, and these fill the bill!

How Much Cheese Do You Eat In A Day?
feedyoureye replied to Puja's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Canola, walnut and flax oils are rich in omega3 seitan- 26 grams of protein per 4-ounce serving TVP- A 1/4 cup serving of Bob's Red Mill TVP contains 12 g of protein. In comparison, 1 1/2 oz. of chicken breast contains 10 g of protein So good mixed with a sugar free flavored syrup for desert. Some brands of Peanut flour has even more protein than PB2 and is good too. (PB2 contains sugar) -

good question. -
Keep in mind your stomach had the nerve ending cut. You may not be able to feel what is going on in there when you eat what you have been eating. Just because you CAN put fast food in there, does not mean no damage is being done. Get help, in a few weeks you will be able to eat more variety. After 6 weeks the stomach is mostly healed.

Liquids After Surgery-- Please Help.
feedyoureye replied to jlholmes5's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Liquids are your medicine now. You have to have them. Have you tried different temperatures? Warm camomile or mint tea were easier for me, and not sweet. Warm broth? If you can't get in enough liquids, please go and get an IV. You do not want to get dehydrated. -

Watermelons... Too Much Sugar?
feedyoureye replied to VJSlim's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Watermelon is a high glycemic index food, which means it loads sugar quickly into the blood and might get an insulin response. That being said, last summer, I ate some almost every day and lost weight, I would just watch and see if it makes you hungry, or if your labs are high. If you have it with a protein, it will help to slow the sugar response. I would eat it rather than drink it.... -

Anyone Disappointed In The Amount Of Weight Lost? Wish It Was More?
feedyoureye replied to emmas mom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Some great advice here! I am now losing as slow as a snail. I am giving myself the whole year to lose my last 7 pounds. It might even take longer than that at this speed! I am also not on a "diet" though I do write down what I eat and do exercise regularly. I know I can keep this up, and I won't jump ship because I'm tired of the way I am eating. Would I like to lose it NOW? He11 yes. Its human nature to want what you want now. -

feedyoureye replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Thanks! I have been meaning to make a vegetarians sticky post.... but had that awful flu going around... I will try to get to it this week. There are plenty of good veg sources of protein... Keep an eye out, I will do a post soon. -
I was standing with a couple of people I know, one I have known (not well) for 20+ years.....before I gained so much weight.... The other one asked me "does it feel weird to lose all that weight and look the way you do now?" and the old friend said "No! THIS is the real her... the other one was not the real her." He really got how I feel. How I now feel authentic. When I was fat, I always worked to look nice, and to look authentic, but I was always changing clothing, like I was looking for something that worked... but what I really need to do was lose 85 pounds to look like ME. He could see that. He could see I was owning my body now... and I never quiet was at 85 pounds heavier. Here is a pic of me from last night....at the art show opening I was at...

Gonna Get To Goal. Wanna Join Me?
feedyoureye replied to coops's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
How frustrating! I know what others say about calories calories out... but there IS something else going on too. Don't know what, but there is something. My "baseline" level of calories expended can not be what the charts say. Even if my resting rate is lower than normal, and my calories in are 2-300 calories more a day than I figure for some reason, I should be losing faster. I guess wah wah, crying doesn't help, and thats the way it goes, but it would be nice to be able to get control over that extra bit of the unknown. I am happy the way I am, but would like to lose to "Normal" and a little more just as insurance. I may still do it too, slowly... but the numbers just don't really work out do they? -
Ok. I am wearing a size 12-14 (mostly 14) pants, and L-XL top with a couple of M's thrown in to confuse things. I went to the Goodwill to try on some pants... and had to try on about 20 other things too of course... it was 40% off day so..... I was flipping through the jackets and saw one that was cute... tried it on and it fit.... SIZE 6. WTH? Then saw another I liked, tried it on SIZE 8. I guess this is what they are talking about (vanity sizing that is). Kind of makes it hard to figure out what is real... I guess trying them on is how to get the job done. I can say I "wore" not "wear" a size 6 now.... perhaps this is how brands get customers addicted to them.....?

The Basics Boot Camp
feedyoureye replied to LilMissDiva Irene's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
Logging everything has really helped me stay on track. Even when I eat something crapy, I write it down. It helps me stay conscious. If I don't write stuff down, the quality of my food declines as well. I probably only skip writing down what I eat a couple of times a month. I do eat less healthy foods some of the time, but I write it all down. -

Target has a house brand. Less than $4 for 5 of them...I like the double chocolate... sort of like a chocolate dipped oreo cookie. crunchie. Balance bar lemon meringue is good too.Not crunchy, but tasty.
