The first two days were rough for me, but Im at day 4 now and feeling much better ,still a litlle sore but things are definately looking up..Happy to be home from the hospital..Hang in there and let us know how it went.

One more night, its finally here! The long awaited journey will have a new begining starting tomorrow. We are all truly blessed to have this opportunity, I will be thinking of all of you once my head clears of the pain killers...lol Thanks all for the continued support ...this forum has been a huge help and comfort for me and has put me at ease by preparing me for the things to come..the internet is a wonderful thing isnt it? and so is this site..thank you all!! see you on the loosers side!!

Great to hear from you, I was thinking about your cold and wondering if they went ahead with the surgery...congrats!!

Well I usually don't post on the weekends and come Monday I'll be gettin' my sleeve. So I guess this is my last topic to post on the pre-op forum. Hopefully all will go well for those of us who are April 11th-ers, I think there are a few of us.

We will be rockin' our sleeves come next week! C'mon weightloss, I'm ready!!!

Well I got bumped to 11:15 from 12:15 which leaves me fighting the worst of L.A. traffic to get there oh well my sis is driving maybe I'll take a cat nap on the way... YA Right!!! Who am I kidding.

Since I last posted in this topic my surgery was moved to 4/11. Been doing the pre-op diet since 3/28

I've read several people on here talk about the Gas-x strips but when I asked if I was allowed to take them the nurse said that they wouldn't do any good. Since the gas is from when they "inflate" your stomach she said the only thing that would help is just walking as much as possible.

It cant hurt !!

I really wanted to be first for a variety of reasons. one of them being I am doing my surgery at my job and didnt want to risk running into anyone I knew. Now I am coming in at 12pm which is prime time. Ughhhhhhhhh.}

Mine was scheduled for 11:00 as well, they just called me and bumped me to 12:45 ugh...at least it will still be done that day..

Monday is the BIG Day... 2 more days of liquid diet and my surgery is on Monday...Cant wait to be on the loosers side!!

yay so happy for you, I remember that feeling when I got mine...soo cool!!!

I asked my nurse practitioner if I could take gas ex while in the hospital, she told me if the gas pain is that bad to let her know and she will give me Simithacone, I explained to her that I had my Gallbladder taken out years ago and the pain was so bad when I got home so I took a gas ex and witin minuts it was gone! She also gave me the ok to take gas ex when I got home if it was bad. But she explained that walking is very important part of getting rid of gas and preventing blood clots more importantly. So check with your Doc..see what they say

I was thinking the same thing today, Im on all liguids with only 20 grams of protien a day..I thought I would be ready to pass out but I actually feel a little better hmmmmm. less tired just hungry. 3 more days to go and then the BIG DAY....looking forward to getting more Protein in after surgery..

Hey guys...just wanted to update here since a few of you have upcoming surgeries. I will say that Thursday (day 3 post op) was by far my hardest. I was still on Clear Liquids and was having a hard time with drinking anything b/c everything sounded horrible, taste horrible, made me gag, etc. I never did actually throw up, but boy I could have. I took my phenegran and pain meds and slept the rest of that day off and prayed Friday would be better After that things really started looking up. I only tell you guys this to say that you need to prepare for a rough day....whether it's day 3 or 4, etc. Just know ahead of time that once you get to full liquids it gets SO much better. I'm already able to drink so much easier without every drink causing gas pressure and can finally get in some Protein. Just remember what everyone says about walking. Get up as soon as they will let you and increase the time every chance you get. Let us know how things go on the 8th and the 11th!!

ONe week to go for me (11th) started the preop liquid diet today...getting close...

I was told during the first night of my study that if they saw sinificant Apnea they would wake me up and put the mask on me...turns out they didnt wake me up that night, but when I went for my second study with the mask, they said I had significant Apnea...
