Good Morning
i was told no caffene after surgery for 3 months until the risk of ulcers is significantly reduced! Also for every cup of cafinated coffee you need to drink a glass of Water b/c caffene is a diruretic..I got used to the Decaf pretty quick after surgery, now Im down to only like a half cup in the morning, it has kindof lost its appeal!!

I wish some of you would join us in the chat room in the evenings. It's lots of fun!

ya I would say go for it as well!! Im going Monday and Im 2 weeks out...Im sure if you trust the place and have been going threre for a while it wont be a problem..I do see your concern though with the infection problem.

I double checked on caffeine with my NUT today and he said it was fine, within reason. He said if I choose to drink it to boost my Water intake to counter the diuretic effects, so no biggie.
sound good to me thanks!! I may partake in a little jo!! for some reason I thought they said only Decaf b/c of possible ulcers..but im sure the pepcid they percribed will defeat that ...

Does anyone know if Tomato sauce is allowed during the mushie stage, possibly with a little meatball mixed in..I am 11 days out and on mushies..thanks for your help!!
-
I hear it will all become the "new norm" and a habbit more than work as we get used to it..I also just started mushies and boy what a feeling, not the normal full feeling but more like a brick stuck in my tummy. I find I want to drink something just to get rid of that feeling, but Im holding off..3/4 of a scrambled egg this morning and Im stuffed! wow we are going to be skinny beatches in no time...
-
yumm im looking forward to that first cup of real jo..when do they allow caffene? or was it decaf...now I have a craving..lol

My drain incision was left open to heal on its own. I kept it covered for the first while with sterile gauze to collect the weeping drainage. Other than that it healed shut all on its own. Call your doc for what they want done. In the meantime you can get steri strips to butterfly it closed.
Ya mine is open too healing fine..I figure with all my stretch marks and prior gall bladder surgery what another scar
They doc told me once the ozzing stops to leave it off and let it heal..as well..
But it cant hurt to give the Doc a call..

Dont be sad Meggie, like my husband told me....dont think of it as the last day you will be able to eat , think of it as the first day of your new improved, healthier life!! The liquids can be tuff at first but you will get through it..just think of the light at the end of the tunnel. Be strong this is your time to prove all you can be!!
