Water aerobics
I signed up for Water aerobics at the Y, starting in a few weeks. It's 3 mornings a week, 40 minutes per class. Now, hopefully this won't offend anyone, but I definitely associate water aerobics with little old ladies in flowered swim caps I'm 32, and I have osteoarthritis in both knees. I was on antiinflammatories for them before surgery, but I stopped taking it since it was an NSAID. I was hoping by now my knees would be feeling much better, but they're not. So while I've been hitting the gym 2x weekly and doing the elliptical, it's still rough on my knees. So has anyone here done water aerobics? Is it worth it or is it going to be a waste of my time? I really want the benefits of the water to help me with joint movement and resistance but I'm worried that it's not a good choice. I just don't know!

I have to make a decision..
Well... if I were you I'd do the sleeve. Yes it's very drastic but if you won't be able to get the weight off on your own, it'll surely help.

DEPRESSED
If you haven't had a bm in almost a month you NEED to call your doctor. Maybe you have a blockage. Please call them.

Going completely public about their surgery?
I'm so glad that people feel comfortable telling everyone they know. I don't- already, with only family members knowing, I often see them watching me eat and saying things like "you have to eat like this the REST of your LIFE?" or constantly checking in with me to see how much I've lost. It's exhausting

Falling off the Band Wagon :(
Oh congratulations!! I've had 2 miscarriages and both times, my next pregnancy went full term and I have two beautiful girls to show for it. This pregnancy is already out of your hands, so try not to stress (HA!!!) and just try to think positively. I wish you a boring, uneventful pregnancy!

What's the deal with drinks ?
Sometimes, but not really. It doesn't hit that "full" trigger for me. It DOES help me realize that I'm not really hungry, just thirsty.

Somewhat discouraged
LOL! I liked the drive-by compliment! I'd call your doctor and see if they can test your Iron. If you're always exhausted it might be anemia. Could also be Vitamin D deficiency...

Ahhh i'm going to my 1st fill!!!
Everyone is told something different after fills. I was told 24 hours liquids, 24 hours soft foods, then carefully on to regular solids.

Falling off the Band Wagon :(
If your biggest problem is grazing at night, are you HUNGRY then or just eating to eat? What about chewing gum in the evenings so your mouth is occupied? Or going to bed earlier...

Other ways to get Protein in....
I'd try some other protein sources. Lots of people have to g from brand to brand to get one they like. If you buy from a GNC store you can return any flavors you don't like, even if they're opened. Or you can go online and order samples of different drinks to try before you spend a ton on them. I know vitalady.com does samples- not sure what other sites do.

Had surgery on 7/22/10
I don't have any experience to lend, but I'm glad you're finally getting a fill. Maybe you can tell yourself to see this fill as starting over- like, pretend you've just had surgery and this fill marks the beginning of a big change back to the "right" way of eating. I hope it works wonders for you!

What's for dinner tonight?
My family had pulled pork sandwiches, made in the slow cooker, with coleslaw on the side. I put my pork in a low carb wrap and had a good amount of coleslaw. Yum!

sex drive after lapband
I read that when you lose fat, your fat releases estrogen, and that may affect your sex drive.

Four Golden Rules
Sugar is a carb, so if you're trying to stay in a low carb range, you might want to ask them to make your latte with Splenda, which will cut down the calories dramatically. If you try to stick to 100g of carbs a day, well, your latte is half of that. If you're trying to stick to 50g... you're in trouble One teaspoon is about 5 grams of sugar- so your drink has 8+ teaspoons of sugar!

Do you miss food/eating?
Yep I miss it. DH and I were on a cruise last week and I tried to be good, but by the end of the week I was eating foods I knew I shouldn't (like chicken fingers and fries) and drinking with my meals, and desserts after lunch and dinner. It was hard to come back home Friday and have to remember oh yeah, I'm not supposed to do xyz. I KNOW I wasn't hungry, but that didn't stop me from eating!
