Still losing very quickly - no fill?

That IS a lot, congratulations! Do you feel like you need a fill now?

Awww... thanks so much! (And I knew you meant me, even with the funky numbers in your title, no worries )

long term bandsters, question for you

I'm happy too, trust me! And I hope it stays this way and doesn't go back to "normal" once I hit 2 weeks post fill
  4. I had a fill on Thursday and suddenly, things have changed. No, this is not a "am I too tight?" post On Saturday, I had a half of a chicken salad wrap (chicken salad, lettuce on a whole grain wrap). I ate it, which was a normal meal for me. But this time a few minutes after I finished eating, I was stuffed, like, uncomfortably full. That's the FIRST time I've felt fullness since being banded. It hurt! And I didn't like it and it took 2 or 3 hours to feel "normal" again. So today, I had the other half of the wrap for lunch. But I was paying close attention to how I felt as I ate it. Half of the way through, I felt done, and like the food was backing up a bit in my stomach, so I stopped eating it. And that's well and good... but 1.5 hours later I was hungry again (not head hunger, real hunger). Now I'm just confused! So if I eat and feel full, not "satisfied" but actual full, yet it doesn't last long... ugh I'm so confused.

    How many calories

Not many, that's for sure! I did protein shakes made with water 3x a day and then just broth or sugar free jello... so probably 500 a day at the most. It's hard. You might feel really weak. Just take it easy and be kind to your body.

long term bandsters, question for you

I haven't had a repeat of that overfull episode. I'm now getting a "full" feeling when I eat, but it's not the hurt-y kind, and it always sneaks up on me before I want to stop eating. So that's great! But I'm a little freaked out that I'm not supposed to be feeling any "full" feeling and it means I'm eating too much. Is it possible it just means I'm going too fast? Ugh I feel like I need to re-learn this whole thing!

    Constant "Stuck" feeling

Do you have access to pineapple juice? If so drink a few sips, if not I'd drink a hot herbal tea, slowly, and see if it helps "wash down" whatever is still left.

    Headaches

I got headaches from my change in diet (no caffeine, greatly reduced sugar). And I had to work at burping in the beginning- really stretch out my jaw and esophagus to get the burp out.

    Listen To Your Body

I absolutely know what you're talking about. The hardest thing for me has been when I know I'm NOT hungry any more, but there's food left, and I have to fight to stop myself from eating it. This band thing is HARD. Don't let anyone tell you differently!
  10. Amazing, congratulations!!!

    breakfast at restaurants

I got overwhelmed and ended up with a bowl of oatmeal. Oh well.
  12. I only walked for exercise in the beginning. And even then-- not much. Please don't "cheat" on your eating plan. You don't want to do any damage. Yes, some people aren't hungry after surgery and some are starving- this part of the journey is the hardest!

    Feel Like (*&%@$

I'm sorry It could be a bunch of things... but if you continue to feel this way for 48-36 hours, or if you start having problems swallowing your food, please call your doctor.

    chicken broth...

You can do either but the kind in the cardboard box tastes better, in my opinion.

    BIG Gripe!

I'm not sure why that's insulting to you- but I'm sorry you're upset.

    That's awesome, congrats!!

when will I feel myself again?

Took 2 weeks to feel normal again.

    Hibatchi

Most people with a slip will either have a lot of heartburn or trouble keeping anything down (or getting stuck all the time).

    Hibatchi

Oh Yeah, it's rough! And delicious! The good news is you have so many protein options... the bad news is that rice is addictive.

    because?
  21. Don't give in to temptation anymore. You have post-op diets for a reason, you don't want to pull any stitches around your band. Chew some gum if you really want something to chew. You're almost out of this part of it!

    Cocktails???

4 weeks is plenty and yes, you'll be able to have a drink or two- just know that the alcohol might hit you a lot faster after surgery than it does now.
  23. I don't think being able to feel the food go through has anything to do with restriction- I've been able to feel it since I got banded. I feel food and drinks going down, and anything coming up. But I don't think most people feel the same way.

  25. Right now I'm what I consider to be my green zone. Yes, I feel the food pass through the band as I eat (always have though). When I'm done eating, I often feel a sensation that is similar to what "full" felt like pre-band. It's sort of a pressure... kinda hard to understand. If I over-eat, I have that same feeling but much stronger and it's really uncomfortable, so much so that I'm more careful with my portions so I don't have to deal with it. I stay full for about 5 hours. In fact, I haven't been hungry much at all since this last fill, so I do need to make sure I eat my meals. I have never been stuck or PB'd. If I stay at this level I will be very, very happy.
