  1. When I went in for my second fill, the Dr told me they encourage and hope for atleast a 4lb loss after the first fill. Don't be discouraged. I had my surgery on May 5th and have lost 41lbs including loss from my 2 week pre op diet. I've had times that I am juggling 2-3 lbs and it DOES suck, I'm sure I'll have issues again. This is a battle we are fighting every day, and this is a battle I have to win for my kids. So, I can't let those times bring me down. Just press on, you'll get through it. When I have times I don't have a lot of restriction, if I start counting calories it makes it a little easier on me.

  2. I had the same problem after surgery. I was depressed because I was so hungry and couldn't eat anything. It's just going to take time to retrain your body and mind that this is the way it's going to be now. Try chewing gum or find something to take your mind off of it until the craving passes. I had surgery in May, I still have problems occasionally, but it's getting a lot easier. The more fills you get, the less hungry you'll be. It'll get better.

  3. I just got my 3rd fill last Wednesday. I've been having trouble eating everything except mashed potatoes, popcicles and crackers since then. I keep thinking I need to wait it out to make sure it's not just inflammation or stress, before I go in to have Fluid taken out. Last time I had trouble eating for about 3 days or so, then I was fine. Does anyone else have this problem after fills? How long does it last with you? The good thing out of this is that I've lost 7lbs just since Wednesday.

  4. It took me a couple weeks for the shoulder pain to go away. I actually went to the Dr for my follow up and they took Fluid out and gave me a steroid shot to help with the pain. A few days later my pain finally stopped. It was awful, I couldn't sleep, do laundry or clean my house. I feel your pain. Just be patient, it'll pass. :)

  5. I try to stay around 1200, and I do Zumba 3-4 times a week and Cardio Kickboxing once a week. I seem to be losing pretty steadily.. I think it all depends on you, everyone is different. Find something that works and stick with it. Also, if you have an iPhone, there's an app called My Fitness Pal that is awesome. You can track your weightloss and calories. I love it! Good luck, hope everything works out!

  6. I'm feeling your pain too! I've lost a total of 28lbs and my surgery was May 5th. Before my first fill I was grazing a lot and not losing anything. It does get discouraging at times. Even now, I got my first fill and am taking Zumba classes 4 times a week and counting calories but the scale still seems to stay around the same number. We just need to remember to be patient and stay off the stupid scale! :) also, have you taken measurements? Do you think it's possible you may be losing inches?

  7. I was banded May 5th, and I too gave been frustrated. I thought I wouldn't be as hungry after my first fill, but I am still very hungry and grazing.. :( I just keep trying to remain patient. I've only lost 11lbs since I got my band, 25lbs total including the pre-op weight loss. Only down 2lbs since my fill last week, and I've been counting calories and doing Zumba atleast 4 times a week. So my point is, don't expect so much from your first fill either. They say it take 3 or more fills to start feeling not as hungry. Be patient, and don't get discouraged.

  8. Did yours flip? I had never heard of this problem until Friday I went in for my first fill and they couldn't do it because it had turned. I go back this week so my doctor can do it(hopefully without problems). The nurse told me that scar tissue develops around the port and will help hold into place, since I only had my surgery on May 5th my body hasn't built up enough scar tissue yet. Kind of discouraging.. There were 4 people ahead of me at my appointment, and they got their first fills no problem.

  9. My surgery was May 5th, I started Zumba last week. I don't think there's anything wrong with it, you can feel if your doing too much. On the video my doctor made me watch, it showed that they attach the port to the muscle wall so it shouldn't be just floating around. BUT I will tell you this, I went for my first fill on Friday and the nurse couldn't get the needle into the port because it had turned. It was awful, she stuck me twice and was digging around trying to make contact. I was rescheduled for this week so the doctor can do it. The nurse told me they won't have to go back in and correct it. She said scar tissue develops around the port and holds it in place, but I don't have enough scar tissue yet. So it's possible yours may have moved a little, but I wouldn't stress about. You should still call your doctor and make sure it's okay first chance you get.

  10. Hello Every1...

I really dny knw where 2 start...ok my surgey was Wednesday May 4th... and according to the nurses and doctors I was up and moving fairly quickly. I did everything needed to be able to leave the hospital (passing gas,BM,urinate) the nxt evening. Im home and I feel sorta like crap but i push throuhg it. I walk up n dwn my block 30-45 min aday...@ first I has this feeling in my chest like a bubble so I asked a girlfriend of mine(her surgery was about 3wks ago) wat is this? Sha said gas u need to burp and it"ll stop eventually. Ok I started burping which was GREAT I felt 100 timez better! NOW...my stomach ALWAYZ feelz full n I dnt knw when to drink cuz my stomach ALWAYZ has this "TIGHT" feeling and itz driving me kinda crazy!! Like right now Im STARVING/STOMACH IS GROWLING but this "tightness" scares me...and if I drink i'll feel HORRIBLY FULL wat do I do? Wanna eat(drink really) but scared to...PLZZZZZ help!!

Oh! I can SOOOO relate! I had my surgery on the 5th. I know I'm not getting enough fluids. I'm used to drinking 4 to 5 Water bottles a day, and now it's taking me all day to finish one. I've had sharp pain starting from the top of my stomach and it goes up to the middle of my chest, usually when I stand up or am walking around, feels like a bubble trying to come out. I've also had shoulder pain since the day of my surgery, it's gotten more frequent and is worse when I take in breaths and exhail. The other day I felt nauseous and went to the bathroom because I felt like I was about to throw up, but I gagged and nothing but a HUGE burp came out. I felt so much better for the rest of the day. As for the band and everything else, it seems like it's all going well, but I am SOOOOOO ready for this gas pain to pass! I feel your pain!
