  1. Christal,

Well at least you are losing weight! I haven't lost ANYTHING since we got back from Mexico. Nothing. I lost 15 lbs while we were in Mexico but that is all. On the flip side, Coy has lost 65 pounds. I'm proud of him. His whole body is reshaping and he's starting to look different. Congrats on the weight loss girl, so sorry to hear about you guys losing your jobs. Hopefully you can file for unemployment to keep you going until work starts back up.

    Caley

  2. So I was 13 days post-op on Easter. Since I knew that I would be starting my mushy diet the next day, I decided to fix myself a plate and eat dinner with the rest of my family. I had a teaspoon of mashed potatoes, a teaspoon of potato casserole, a few pieces of fried okra (I know not a mushy, but I chewed it very well), and a nibble of a deviled egg. Since all that went down good, I decided to try a very small small nibble of ham. I chewed that until there was nothing left. I did feel myself get full. I know it was alot of carbs, but dang it, it was a holiday! At least that's what I keep telling myself. Anyways, fast forward to yesterday, Monday. I had horrible diarrhea. I mean it was one of those DO NOT TRUST YOUR FARTS kind of day. I didn't cramp and it didn't hurt. But I would hear very strange noises and then feel the rumble and the pressure, and I just knew I had to run to the bathroom. Sometimes it wasn't diarrhea, just very explosive gas, other times it was pure Water. Could this have been due to my carb binge?

  3. Yeah I am definitely hairier too. I am not sure about the follicle theory. I know for sure that my testosterone level shot up more than twice what it was and 7X as much as before I started replacement therapy. The doc said that I now have less body mass to dilute the hormone through and therefore my level rises - which makes me hairier and my facial hair more heavy too.

Yeah since his face is smaller, it looks like he has much more beard. Of course, he likes to wear a full beard all the time so he likes his werewolf locks. :)

  4. My husband is very hairy. Yes, they shaved him. They shaved a large circle out of his chest/belly area. The weird thing is that as he loses weight (he's down nearly 50 lbs) he looks hairier! Maybe because as he shrinks the hair folicles are closer together? I dunno!

And they shave women too! I didn't think my stomach was hairy, but I know it was shaved because I had razor burn all over my stomach after surgery!

  5. I guess I'm a freak of nature. I woke up sleeping on my stomach on day 4 post surgery. No pain. The Hubby and I got down to business on day 7.

I realize I'm not "normal"....but then I don't know what normal is!!! Lol!

I wish you the very best and a speedy recovery!!

    Christal

Haha Christal! Nice. Well me and my hubby rocked it on my day 8, his day 6. I guess men are ready sooner! LOL As for sleeping positions, I slept on my left side the night of my surgery. It was the only thing that helped the gas pains. But I'm a weirdo too! One of my favorite sleeping positions is to lay on my back with my legs sitting "indian style". LOL

  6. I'm having surgery next Monday (4/11) with Dr. Almanza. I know that if my lap-band is eroded that he won't do the sleeve. So what are the symptoms of an eroded band? I am super nervous because I will be driving all the way from Arkansas to San Diego to do the surgery. I don't want to get down there and be super disappointed because I can't have the sleeve done...

I have had weight regain in the past few months. I have regained about 35 lbs in 3 months! It started when I went in for a fill and the doctor dug around and dug around before taking me to x-ray to see why he couldn't access my port. He informed me it was turned around backwards and he sent me home. That was on a Friday. By Sunday I realized I could eat absolutely anything and everything in huge amounts. I've also had minor port pain ever since this happened. So can anyone tell me what might have happened? Could this weight gain be erosion or did my dr do something?

  7. Im starting to get nervous. I will be sleeved (along with all you other April 11th sleevers) in 15 days. What I'm most scared of is the fact that I won't be able to eat. food is my drug of choice. I believe I will have withdrawls and go through DTs!!! I'm a bonafide FOOD ADDICT!

  8. Lily Thanks so much!! ur reply is so much appreciated and others replied to a thread too I posted! u are all so awesome and helpful here.

I just cant get the part about the bougie? what exactly is that?

The way it was explained to me is that a bougie is the sort of "cookie cutter" tool they use to outline the stomach so that its cut precisely. I will be sleeved on April 11 and the size the doctor is using is 32.

  9. We are from albuquerque NM. We'll be flying in on the 10th. The Hubby wants some time after my sx to see some sights. We fly back out on Friday.

Since my husband is having surgery on the 13th, we probably won't leave until Saturday. We are staying at the recovery house the whole time. Are you staying there the whole time too?

  10. Caley, I look forward to meeting you! Your Hubby is having the surgery on the 13th right? My Hubby will be there too but for moral support. We can all groan together and make my Hubby walk with us! Lol

I look forward to meeting you too! I wonder how many of us will be sleeved that day? Or how many will be in the recovery house with us? Where are you from? We are from NW Arkansas. We will be driving to San Diego because my hubby is afraid to fly. We will be arriving on the 10th.

  11. @Got2loveDisney I love love love this~

Seeing the "parts" I'm shaving...not having to ask to be shaved for that matter!!

This made me laugh sooo hard because it's SO true! It's really hard to "guess" what I'm shaving down there. It's so hard to hold up the apron with one hand (while also trying to feel where you've been) and shave with the other hand! By the time I get done, it looks like a war zone down there! My husband always asks me if I got into a fight with my razor, lol! I try not to ask my husband to help me. He's way too rough. I try to tell him that area is much more delicate than his face whiskers!

That's another thing I'm looking forward to seeing be gone...that fat, squishy hump right above my "girl parts". Am I being inappropriate? Surely you guys want this large "mound'" gone too?
