  1. I personaly cant stomach another Protein shake if I dont have to so I try to get all of my protien from food plus I am still in my loosing phase and have chose to be super strict with my eating but will deffinatly be expanding my choices when I reach maintnance. I do sometimes wish I could sit down with a huge bow of Pasta and gorge my self but then I think of the consequences and where doing that got me and I get over it pretty quickly plus I take small bites of my small meals so they last just as long as a "normal" meal and it fills me up and I feel satisfied. I am one month and 5 days out from surgery and I have lost 21 pounds since then so no I do not regret haveing surgery I actually completely LOVE my sleeve it really does work wonders as long as you work with it.

my typicall meal for a day is

oh and I am still on the puree stage.

B: 1/2 cup low fat cottage cheese ot 1/2 cup fat free greek yogurt

L: 1/2 C purees chicken, turkey with 1 oz sauce or 1/4 c taco seasoned turkey or chicken with 1 T fat free cheddar 3 T refried Beans and some taco sauce

D:1/2c +2T Beef with 2T greek yogurt made into creamy horseradish sauce.

I am not suposed to have Snacks on my dr's plan which is no problem with me as I am not usually hungry between means but If I am short on protien I will have a laughing cow light cheese wedge or 4-8 oz of a 100 cal nesquick chocolate milk.

  2. I usually burn 500-600 cals at the gym but am only eating between 300 -400 in a day with no more then 30 carbs . I spoke to my surgen about this and he said that it was fine as long as I have energy and keep doing what I am doing. As for the gain you could be retaining Water or building mussle. Pull the tape measure out and I am sure you will see a drop in numbers there even if you dont see one on the scale.< /p>

  3. i was just informed 2 days ago that my surgery will be on dec 6-i cant believe that as long as i have been waiting now i am a little shocked and scared that it will be in one week-so i havent been told about any liquid diet-but if it helps the pre op process-please someone let me know what i should eat!

Not all dr's require a pro op diet and there is debate weather or not it helps I personaly believe that it helps you get used to the way you will be eating after surgery and it gets you through the sugar withdrawels with out the added strain of recovery. For my pre op I was on a 1200 cal low carb high protien diet up till 10 days before surgery then it was 4 shakes and on lettuce salad with lemon juice and then all clears the day before surgey. There really are alot of different pre op diets, if you search pre op diet you can research them on here and then modify one for your self if you feel it would help you. Good Luck and let us know how your surgery goes.

  4. Sounds like you are going through carb and caffeine withdrawels, this will get better after a few days usually no m ore then a week depending on your previous diet. My best advise is to pre warn peopple you will be around that your mood may not be all that great and you may have a short fuse take some advil and just know that it will get better with time and you will be sleeved before you know it. Good Luck and let us know how everything goes

  5. Tomorrow I am two weeks out. My surgeon requires a two day pre op diet of liquids only but I also had to loose ten % of excess weight before they would make a date. I have lost that and trying to lose a little more. Curious what was your two week diet? I am kind of doing a low carb/sugar, low fat, high Protein diet. Some days I have just done protien shakes for morning or lunch and just a regular dinner.

Congrats on your success! Your doing Great!

I was on a 1200 calorie high protien low carb diet from the time I went to the NUT and that was in June then 10 days beofre my date I was on 4 protien shakes and a lettuce salad with lettuce per day. then the day before surgery was all Clear Liquids. Hope this helps.

  6. if you dont want all the sweet you could also mix into your greek yogurt some of the ranch mix powder or the spincah dip or some taco seasoning. Also for puree/mushie food you can take any meat and use a stick blender to puree it up I currenly am eating pureed ground turkey, pureed chicken breast strips(the frozen ones) re freid bans, pureed imitation crab meat, pureed hormel turkey chili with out Beans, pureed canned roast beef, you can also puree benas Soups but they tend tohave fewer protien grams and more carbs. also when you are pureeing the meat if itis to dry you can mix in gravy or stock to make it go doen easier.

often for lunch or dinner I will mix some turkey or chicken with taco seasoning layer that with taco sauce fat free cheese and refried beans, or I will have the beef with some greek yogurt mixed with horse radish, tapatillo, and wochesterchire sauce so its kinda like eating a steak with creamy horse radish sauce. Or I will take some chicken mmix the greek yogurt with the ranch powder and some buffalo sauce and imagine it is buffalo wild wings :) Good luck with your mushies your best bet would be to just walk the isles of the grocery store and experiment.

  7. I am one month out today it really amazes me how fast time flys by, I am only 4 pounds away from my half way goal which I am sure I will make by next week. I truly contribute being this far to my nut's pre op diet on which I lost 30 pounds. I really do recomend putting your self on a pre op diet even if your surgen and Nut do not require one, it really does help with getting your self ready for the change in diet post op and it puts you that much closer to goal for after surgey. Good luck to all who are considering VSG and to all who have all redady joined the loosers bench! You have all been such wonderfull inspiration to me :)

  8. I have three questions for you...

Have you have your thyroid checked because if it is slow it will make it really hard to loose no matter what you do?

Have you been checked for PCOS once again can make it hard to loose weight?

and have you brought your journal to your NUT to see if there are any changes that you could make?

if you have done all of these things then I guess my only suggestions would be to work harder on not drinking when you are eating make sure you have no beverages near you when you eat. Also make sure you are getting in atleast 64 oz of Water in a day inbetween meals. Also since it is no longer swimming season you should find another way to do excercises there are deffinatly options out there, if you are not abel to stand for a long time then do chair excercises with resistance bands and small dumbells, for example you could hold the dumbells with your arms straight out and lift at your sholders or hold the dumbells with your hands at sholder level and push up, with the resistance band you could sit with your legs up hook the band on your toes hold the ends with your hand and either pull with your arms or do calf extensions by holding the band tight and pushing with your toes. I am sure there are many others if you just look them up online. I am confident that you can make it to goal you may just have to put some work into it. Good Luck!!

  9. Sorry that you had more pain then you had expected, But I do promise you that it gets better each and every day ! If the loritab is bothering your stomach and your doc wont give you anti nausia meds you could try childrens tylenol it may not take as much of the pain away but it should not bother your new tummy. Congrats on loosing the weights and having your surgery and good luck with your recovery
