  1. Any one else have to take 2 bottles of Magnesium citrate the day before their surgery??? I have never taken it but I have been told by other that one bottle will seariously clean you out! So two kinda scares me! :scared0: I was suposed to pick some one up at the air port that day and I think I am kinda scared to leave the house. I mean all I will have in me is protien shakes and lettuce for 10 days prior, and I have been told that when you drink it, when you feel you have to go then there is no waiting you have to go right then and there better be a bathroom near by!!!!:bored0: If there is any one out there with experience on weather I will be able to leave the house or if I need to fine some one to pick the person up so that I can stay leashed to the toilet I would greatly apreciate the feed back so I can do the plaing ahead of time. Thanks

    Magnesium citrate may be TMI

Thanks for both your replies, I think I will arange for some one to pick her up at the airport since I just dont know what it will do to me!!!! Dansha, they want me to sip on the two bottles through out the day. so I guess this is going to be an all day proess. and as for the two bottles I guess they just want me completly empty. I have an apt with him tomorrow I will have to ask why the two bottles. I do hope that they dont expect me to have a bm before I am aloud to leave the hospital, cuz I just dont think there will be anything left at that point:wink0: One thing they did ask was to make sure we did not take the cherry flavor as the red dye would worry the nurses and dr's :thumbup1:

    YIPPEE!! my thyroid is shot

I have not been put on meds yet but I do have hashimotos which is an autoimune disease where my body is destroying my thyroid and will have to eventually be put on meds to control it. Some weeks I can tell that my levels are off becasue I am extremly tired all the time and others i am full of energy. I go every six months to have blood work done but since the tests usualy land on a day that I am feeling pretty good they come back on the low side of normal so the doc wont put me on anything. So I have allready mentaly prepared my self to be a slow looser do to the hypo weeks. Good luck with your testing, and getting the last 20 off!

    Pre-op diet, WHY?

My doc puts you on a low carb high protein 1200 cal diet when you first see the nut so mine will be about three months then 10 days before you have to do 4 low carb shakes and 1 veggie salad with lemon juice on it and nothing after midnight the day beofore you go in. let me tell you I am not looking forward to those ten days. but if i dont do it and shrink my liver he may not continue with the surgery or he may have to go open instead of lap!
  6. Congrats on getting the apeal and going into surgey tomorrow, Good luck and please keep us posted!!
  7. Thats almost a pound a day thats awsome so a big CONGRATS to you!!! I cant wait to be abel to say I have lost 41 pounds. And dont worry about a couple of nuggets, it was a way better choice then like a candy bar or a bowl of pasta right? any way yes I have called the IRS several times they just keep saying there is nothing they can do and that i just need to be patient( which is waring a bit thin about now) But goos news is that I have a surgery dat OCT 21 as long as I have my money. I did talk to the surgens office about payments but they said they do not do that because it is an elective surgery, oh well I will just keep my fingers crossed! Well good luck with everything I am sure the weight will continue to fall off of you (even with the occasional nugget here and there) Just keep up the good work.

How do I eat when I always feel full

Those guidelines are not for people with the sleeve, if you try to stuff your self with 1200 cal in the very begining you are going to hurt your self or make your self sick. most DR's and NUTS recomend 600 to 800 for new sleeve patients. Good luck and be carefull

Unjury has a protein chicken broth and tomato soup, and Isopure can also be ordered online. Calgarygirl do you have GNC's in Canada? they sell clear protien in the form of bullets and isopure. Good luck with your seraching!

How might this affect my surgery?

I don't see why they would make you fix your knee first.. The way I see it is if you loose weight it will make it easier to heal your knee, and less likely to hurt it again.
  15. I had a similar issue I called every day asking what the progress was and they kept telling me that they were missing papers so I would call the dr and they would fax it over and I would call again the next day and get the same responce for like two weeks but.....I got my call from the dr the other day and I am Approved YEA!!! Now I just have to wait for the rest of my money to get here and I will be making a date hope fully some time in Oct..
  16. Honistly this is a decision you are going to have to dig deep in side your self to make. Personaly I told any one who would listen to me. I would in a large hotel who all love to talk so if I had chosen to only tell one person it would be out all over with in a week anyway! So this way I can answer any questions thay may have before the nasty rumers start. I have found the majority of people to be supportive, I reaaly have not had any one make negative comments. Also in talking to every one I found another peson in my dept that is going in for WLS and have encouraged two more to start the process. Good luck in making you decision and what ever you decided will be the right way to go!
  17. Thats seems like a really handy test result I am going to have to ask my dr if he will let me do that.

    Approved for VSG with Cigna

The requirements some times change with the different companys that you work for. I have Cigna and I had to fill out a packet that they sent me that included a phych eval, two tobaco tests, 5 EAP sessions, could not have gained 20% of the weight in the past year, but I did not have to do a supervised diet YEA!! So I would recomend talking to your surgens staff thayhave the most experience with the insurance companys. Good Luck!
