  1. you could also try unsweetened almond milk it had less caloirues then skim and it adds a bit of flavor to the skake
  2. You should check with your dr or nut to see what they recomend but on my plan if you cant see through it then you cant drink it on clears so no I cant have protien shakes. but there are web sites that sell protien chicken broth if you feel you cant get your protien in or you could try Isopure. my nut says I have to drink one of the large bottles of that at least every day inorder to get some protien in during that week.

    feelin real good.

I dont know for sure but from my expeience, most guys that go on any type of "diet" lose quicker the women because of the fact that they have more muscle mass and more muscle means more calories burned.(HOW UN FAIR TO US LADIES):confused1:
  4. I know you will be able to get it to where they want you should also try adding some bananas to your protien shake that way your not really going of you r pre op diet. Good Luck!!

    Hi to all!

I see no problem with starting a pre op diet. It helps you get ready for the changes in the way you will be eating after the surgery and the healthier you are the easier the surgery will go. I still have another 3 weeks of Eap sessons before my paper work can even be turned in and I started my diet about a week ago. The only concern that my Doc and his assistant had was since I was so close to a 40 bmi that if I loose any wait I will be below a 40 (which I am now because of the diet) and my insurance requires a 40 or above to cover. but shhhh I am going to follow the advice of a fellow person on this site and drink a bunch of Water before mt next apt and put some heavy stuff in my pockets or some ankle weights. Well good luck :thumbup1:
  11. yeah Deffinatly call your dr and let us know what he says I am kinda curious about that

    Hiccups when full

OH NO this is the first I have heard of hiccups as a post surgery full sign, I am in so much trouble I get hiccups quite often now and i am not sleeved yet (nothing to do with being full) I cant immagin getting them when ever I eat cuz when I get them they are rough ones and they last for EVER and if I get them one time in a day I will get them 10 more times.....
  14. Wow you lost half of your self thats awsome!!!! Congrats
  15. I'm not going to tell you that the next few months are not going to be trying but... this is the way I look at it, find out exactly what your insurance requires when you go to you drs apt and if you feel you fit the critera to get covered then just jump through the hoops to get them to pay. Because think of all the things you are not doing since you are overweight......now think of all the things you could do with the money you save by having them pay (which you are really paying by paying all those damn premiums) and really you have waited as long as you have so what is three more months? well good luck in your choice and your journe!

    Hello, my name is possumtrot

About the big mug thing not made in china, try looking only line for a nalgene, they are made in usa and you can get BPA free. A good place to look for them cheap is ebay, you can get them in many sizes but I find that the 32oz wide mouthis the best, so that if you drink 2 a day you will get you 64 oz in a day, plus the wide mouth makes it easer to clean so you can even out your protien shakes in them. Also I would recoment getting a splash guard for it they really are awsome. oh and nalgenes are actually made for rock climbing or hicking so thay are virtually indistructable and come in alot of different colors. and as far as I know you can put hot or cold in them I usually keep one half full in the freezer so i can pull it out fill it up and go and i will have cold water for all my running around for the day. I do not really drink hot liquids but like I said you should be able to put them in there allthough it is not insulated so it may not stay hot for long. well any way good luck getting in all your water and protien. and great job so far! keep us posted

On Soft Foods so ... Tomatos?

I'm with the above mentioned my Dr/Nut said no raw veggies or fruit for like 3 or 4 months but I am a total tomato freak also, I know that its not an heirloom tomato but try some tomato soup, or if you are really ambitious try making some tomato soup from that heirloom tomato (oooo yummy now you got me thinking I may just have to do that tonight)

    Carbonation

I feel the same as you I swollow less air when drinking with a straw, but some people tend to swallow more air with a straw. I personaly think it is more when people get to the bottom of the cup full of ice are are sucking up those last few drops that they get a lot of air, which I guess could cause discomfort

    Lotion on incision sites?

I dont really have an answer to how long the scars take to become less visble but if you are that worried about it you could try looking for a surgen that does the SILS (single insision laproscopic surgery). I know that is what my surgen does and I am very happy about it. Oh and the scare is in the belly button. SILS? Overview What the SILS? Procedure Means for You As surgery, in general, is a significant step toward helping restore a patient to health, researchers and physicians continually seek out ways to innovate new techniques that yield positive treatment outcomes and advance the surgical experience for patients. How could the SILS? procedure make a difference for you? It?s a good question, deserving of even better answers. The single incision SILS? approach, combined with the SILS? Port that makes this procedure possible, translates into some compelling benefits worth consideration. Potential for No Visible Scar. We all have them, but do we really want them? After all, scars change our bodies and represent the large and small battles that we?ve all faced. With the SILS? procedure, patients can look forward to the possibility of no visible scars as the incision is hidden inside the belly button. Possible Reduction in Pain. Pain. It?s a universal experience we would all rather avoid. And for too long, it?s been a part of the surgical experience. However, the pain and discomfort often associated with surgery isn?t always caused by the procedure itself, but rather from the trauma resulting from gaining access to the problem area. Laparoscopic surgeries (generally requiring three to four small incisions) often result in less post-surgical pain compared to open surgery (which requires one large incision) by minimizing injury to the body. By utilizing only one incision, the SILS? procedure may further eliminate the wound pain that results from multiple points of entry required by standard laparoscopic procedures. Clinical trials are under development to study these benefits in depth. Potential for Faster Recovery Time. Many patients consider a quick recovery time to be one of the most important factors to consider when deciding upon surgical options. The SILS? single incision approach through the belly button means that surgeons can avoid cutting through layers of muscle to reach the problem area, which may reduce overall recovery time and get patients back to normal life sooner.
