    Nervous about Mexico Surgery!!

If you are worried about the vitamins that you take try goimng to bariatricadvantage.com they have a Vitamin pack specially formulated for sleeve patients.
  2. If you feel confortable with it and you think you can get away with it I say GO FOT IT the more you loose the better you feel!!!
  3. I am kinda in the same boat as you but not really. I did not have to do a mandatory supervised diet, but the doc and nut like me to start one just to start to get used to the idea of eating smaller portions and better choices. So any way I started off a a 41 BMIand my ins does not cover you if you go below 40 I was told by my doc to actually stop loosing weight untill I am aproved just in case the ins asks what my current weight is (although with the help of the wonderfull people on here have decided not to stop loosing but to just put ankle weights on or drink alot of H2O before my next apt ) So I guess my actuall answer is dont go below the BMI that your insurance covers and call you ins company or doc and see what thay say they are looking for with the supervised weight loss. You may just have to not be so "complient" with the diet. Good luck and keep us updated .

Diet is a 4 letter word

When I take the regular vitamins they also upset my stomach you should try a chewable the bariatric advantage taste good and dont upset my stomach at all, but they are a bit on the pricy side and they are only available on line (or at some surgens offices) but if you go to walgreens there are also some chewable there that are cheaper but make sure you read what is any thing you take. Good luck as for the left overs I know how you fell Its just me in the house so I allways have left overs dont try to eat them at dinner so that you dont waste just pack it up and have it the next day for dinner so you dont have to cook or pack it up and being it for luncg the next day.
  6. my doc said that gerd would not stop you from having the sleeve done and it may resolve it self with the weight loss
  7. Congrats on getting the surgery, and good for you being your own advocate and getting the size you wanted. But I have just one question... if they took the stomach out through the mouth then why did you have any insions at all???

Diet is a 4 letter word

I know it is easier said then done but if you come home and go for the convience food then dont buy the convience food keep only healthy food in the house. Also another option is to cook your meals on your day off and freeze them so all you have to do is come home and through into the microwave or oven and then your done. Also I know this had nothing to do with food but try taking a good vitamin. I used to take centrim for woman and I was still exosted after work I would come home and just crash. Now that I have started taking the bariatric advantage multi, calcium, iron, and b12 I have so much more energy. You may also want to try to reduce your carbs and up your protien carbs really do give you a boost of enery for a min then bring you crashing down even lower.... Good luck I'm sure you will make it through these last two months and just think of how good you will feel about your self after getting through it all!

why does food taste so blah??

I don't know anything about your taste changing but the bad taste/breath is prolly from ketosis
  15. are you on an acid reducer it could be iritated because you are not giving it anything to break down and it keeps producing acid. this is just a guess though
  16. Congrats on getting sleeved! I am sorry that you had so much nausea but am glad you had top notch drs and nursed helping you through. Great job on the 12 pound loss thats awsome!!! Good luck and keep working that sleeve but take it easy. Keep us updated on your journey :001_tt2:
  17. Wow 23 pounds post op in 8 days thats amazing!!! Glad to hear you are doing well and healing, Sorry about your pain issues just try to take it easy. I have an apt on monday with the surgen and I should be sending in all my papers in then hopefully I will get approved (keeping my fingers crossed) and then it will be just waiting for my tax return to pay what is not covered by ins. at this point I REALLY hate the IRS I filled in Feb and I am about to strangle some one sinec I am sure that will be the only thing holding me back to get my date. Oh well I guess anything worth having is worth waiting for. Well any way keep us all posted and try to stay busy so you dont think about food and try to keep positive that the head hunger will soon pass! :)

    hiatal hernia

when I went to have my Uppre GI they checked for that, my dc said that was one of the main reason to have that done, the other was just to see how big my tummy was.
  22. I think I have told almost all of my employees and co workers Just cuz I am so exited I am getting this done. Some had questions which I was happy to answer but not really any negative comments, actually In talking to my coworkers about it I found one who is going to be having he band done(I did try to talk him into the sleeve but I just dont think he wants to do the research oh weel to each his own) plus I have brought one other to the seminar who had decided on the sleeve and will be bringing one more soon (his daughter had the band so he wants to see how I do on the sleeve before he makes his decision) so all in all telling every one has been a good experience!

    Goaaaaaaaalllll!!!!!!

Super Congrats!!!!!! It must feel great to be at goal after all the hard work!
  24. Iamsunshine, Yea!!! Good job we know you could find them, And I am sure there were crazier people in Walmart..... Lori, Each person is different as well as each dr is different. My Doc has me on b12, Calcium, Iron, and a multi but if you feel fine lots of energy then dont worry till you get your labs back, but of course it would not hurt you if you decided to start taking them.
