  1. Indio- I think this is a great idea. I started out the same way you did, 250 and only 5'4". I've lost 21 pounds (well actually 19 because I gained two back this past week). I am scheduled for my 2nd fill next week. I have no restriction right now and am in bandster hell I guess. I'm trying to "white knuckle" it until next week, but it's hard. After the holiday weekend I returned to some old bad habits, mostly carbs. Any help or suggestions you could offer would be appreciated. Thanks!

hi my name is Lorie. I have had the band since March 9th 2009. I just got a fill today. this is the 3rd one since March. I put all but 24 pounds back on so I am trying to start over. He said that I lost 5 pounds so that's a good thing. It's just so depressing. It is a fight even with the Lap band. I really need a buddy. I will also try to help and encourage others. I am hoping to be back down to the weight I was last summer. at leat buy the end of this summer.

  2. I was banded Nov 23rd and in the first week I lost 10 lbs, but that it and worse I've regained it all and haven't lost anything. I'm so frustrated, I read all these post about not being hungry and wish I felt the same. I have had a fill every month since Dec, sometimes twice in the same month, and it feels like I can feel restriction sometimes and other times nothing. I have no problem eating anything I want and as much as I want.

I am going again to get a fill on Monday but just feel it's still not going to work.

I have also started weight watchers and working out 5-6 days a week.

I just needed to vent and see if anyone else is having the same problem I thought for sure I would be down 30 lbs by now and feel like such a failure.

    Thanks for reading/listening :)

I just want to replay on this. It's happening to me too. I feel so frustrated and I understand what you are going through. I could not have said better myself.. You are not alone with this.:(

  3. How much weight do you need to lose? My Husband was 379 before he had the Lap Band. He lost 150. but then needed to have the band removed due to a slip. Maybe your Doc knows something about this other doc that you don't ? Please be careful. Take you time and find out everything that you can before you make the commitment. Also I do have the band. I lost about 65 but now it's all back.. ? so there again it would be wise to research this new doc that your doc suggested that you try.. I'm just sayin.. L

I am so conflicted and disappointed right now. I went to see my primary care doc today to discuss lap band. Things were going to great until he wanted to refer me to a surgeon. I had already picked out a surgeon based on 2 friends that have already been banded by this surgeon. They absolutely love him. So I tell my do who it is that I am planning to see. The conversation went completely down hill from there. He does not recommend my surgeon at all, he was very adamant about it, he said that he would feel very uncomfortable with me seeing this surgeon, he said he could not go into details but he has heard many horror stories about this surgeon.:( WTF? This surgeon is well known and is a contributor to Fox5 News, Atlanta's HOUSECALL.

I don't believe my doc would steer me wrong, but damn. I really wanted to see this guy. Do you know where I would go to get information on the surgeon? I have googled and only found 1 bad complaint. Not very much information out there.

  4. Hello to you all,

I was banded on 8/26/10, and have currently lost 72 pounds, however, since today is my weigh in, I went to weigh myself and gained 1 1/2 pounds. I am very disappointed and cannot understand where I went wrong. Do any of you that have been on this journey longer than me, have been through this. Thank you.

I have gain weight too. Well you have not gain weight. It's most likely Water weight. I have gain all but 24 pounds back. I had the Lap Band done in 2009
