  1. Also when I do weights I do it more of a circut style. Low weight high rep. I have a workout round timer on my phone that plays with my music. I do 18 sets/50 secs each with a 15 sec rest to get to the next machine :) it's more of a cardio style of weight training bc it keeps ur heart rate up. Love it :)

  2. If anything, weight training will help you lose weight even faster. Muscle burns more calories than fat. The more lean muscle you have, the more calories you burn just sitting still. Plus, women have to work incredibly hard to bulk up, muscle-wise.

Hit those weights, woman! Just make sure you give your muscles time to heal between workouts. Try alternating upper body and lower body workouts.

Exactly what I was going to say. The more muscle u have the more calories ur body will burn every day!

  3. So I recently bought myself a professional grade spin bike. Put it in my living room so I can't ignore it ;)

    Questions :

How long do ur work outs last?

    Do you recommend ne videos?

Or do u just go on ur own?

Do u think I should go to a class for hints olr just web search?

The gym I belong to doesn't have spin bikes, only recumbent ones, & doesn't have classes. This is why I purchased my own. I belong to anytime fitness. The local YMCA does have spin classes & I've thought about going to one if I can get in, members get priority.

I'm looking forward to this new form of exercise ;) I'm currently unable to do much right now bc I habe 11 sutures in my armpit. I had complications following brachioplasty. But they will be removed in a week & the following day I get a fill. I was unfilled for surgery.

    Appreciate the feed back!

  4. I can now add loosing friendship's to the list of complications ... I recently after months of them distancimg themselves had to let go of 2 friends. Their jealousy had turned them into very nasty ppl & shitty friends. As my therapist put it "the ome thing u all had im common, the thread that held u together is no more. U r not fat ne more"

  5. So 3 and a half wks ago I was loosened prior to brachioplasty. Following my ps I gained 30 lbs!!!! Holy crap right?! It was av lot of Fluid but def some chub to. Not being able to exercise & being able to eat me took its toll.

Well last week I decided to gain some contol back. Started thinking while I'm eating and consciously questioning each bite & my fullness. Now down 16 of the 30 lb gain! I had complications with surgery & am still unable to exercise though.

@ my unfill my doc actually discouraged me from coming back to b tightened back up. He said I had lost more weight than the vast majority of his pts ever do & in a short time. I'm 5'7" & have gone from 284 to 164 (@my lowest )

My concern is my wt gain & feeling of being so close to goal prior to it. My goal is 150. I scheduled a fill for June 5th & am hoping he will give it to me. I don't want to be super tight again the way I put it is.... I want to b 1 taco tight not 2-3 taco tight. Lol

    Thoughts...

  6. So happy for u! The last time I went to WOF I remember I had to change seats on the big shot bc they couldn't buckle it. I was mortified :( I wouldn't even ride the patriot bc i was scared they'd say I wouldnt fit. Now 120 lbs lighter I'm confident I would fit on every ride! Makes me want to go agAin!

  7. Live life everyone! It's sad to me that ppl avoid going to lunch with friends bc of the band. I've had some recent trouble with some good friends not ever calling me to go out toy lunch ne more. When I asked them what was up they told me "well u don't eat. So we figured u don't want to come " This infuriated me! Just bc I don't scarf dwn a 1100 cal meal with u?!

Needless to say I find enjoyment out of the satisfaction of knowing I cam control my eating.

  8. Congratulations on your surgery and the removal of soooo much skin! That's great :) The road ahead of you is going to be rough.... I'm 3 weeks out from brachioplasty and still struggling due to complications. Take everything one day at a time. The biggest thing I can tell you is get on some major stool softeners or mirilax now! I've had a huge problem with Constipation b/c of being on pain medications for so long. I've never had to stay on pain medications longer than 4 days and here I am 3 weeks out still on them :(

Things are going to be rough... look at the long term results! Keep up the great work!

  9. I'm currently recovering from brachioplasty and have had some complications. I'm almost 3 weeks out and actually am going to have to take 2 more weeks off b/c I had to get 18 stitches today. I can't lift anything... pretty much need to baby my left arm. Since I'm a nurse I can't work without a left arm! All that said... don't be scared I don't regret a thing.

I say wait absolutly! The reason... you never know if you will have complications. If you do have complications you don't want to rush back to work b/c you won't heal. The weight gain is also a factor! I gained 30 lbs at one point down 10 of that now but still have 20 lbs to work off. You don't want to have to do that twice! Plastic surgery is no joke. I found my brachioplasty to be the toughest surgery I've undergone. I've had my gallbladder out, pilinidal cyst removed, and the lap band.

  10. So went to the doctor today... He decided it looked like it was healed enough to be sutured. He told me the reason why it gapped in 2 places was because it's a "running stitch" and once it pops in one place the integrety of the entire arm is compramised :(

Well 18 stitches later and an area that had a collection of Fluid under the skin drained... Needless to say I'm one hurting unit! The 11 stitches in my left armpit are super sore

So attached are some pics... they are a lil graphic (you've been warned).

  11. Massages are so therapeutic! I get one at least monthly. I usually do Thai which is more stretching with some massage. I hope u enjoyed it & it made u feel better. Sometimes u feel like crap after them bc it releases a lot of toxins & flushes them out of ur system. That's y they want u to drink lots of Water after.

  12. It's all about the FOOD! If u ask me ne ways. When I'm @ restriction I don't count calories. Also u will plateau. Everyone does. I personally loose for 2 wks then hold steady for 2 wks. I'm down 120 lbs in 13 months.

I've had a lil set back due to be unfilled & unable to exercise bc of plastic surgery. So currently I am counting cals to help get the last 13 lbs of my 30 lb weight gain off! Surgery was 3 wks ago... I had a ton of swelling. But right b4 surgery I hit 120 lbs lost & was 14 lbs from my 150 lb goal weight :)

  13. Unfortunatly complications can happen ne where. I would be super nervous though if I had my surgery in Mexico & had to go to a doctor in tthe states who didn't put my device in. That's a can of worms not many doctors r willing to take on! When it comes to ur life & health bargaining is NOT WORTH IT!!!

  14. I have never regretted my choice to do the band. I like a lot of people do not want my organs chopped or rerouted. Also if something were to go wrong the band is reversible!!! That was huge for me! I like the adjustability and flexibility of the band. I am able to control how tight I am and how much I can eat... The sleeve and bypass are far to permenant for me.
