  1. Hi Everyone,

You guys really inspire with your brave step to being thinner-you are all heroes in my eyes who have taken control of the beast! I am not scheduled for the LApband until the end of JUne (hopefully sooner if all goes well). My question to you is how much has the band improved your sex life? When I first met my husband it was great (7 years ago) then we both put of a lot of weight-I put on more than him but easch of us have 40+ since we met. Needless to say our sex life took a nosedrive. I am hoping I'll feel more sexy- or thinking maybe studd just slows down when you get older? We both are in our late forties. Thanks for any insights!

  2. I think you are all right about telling. And the truth is we do eat out a lot and he would see a big difference inmy eating habits. It's just a scary step-really it is! You all are so brave to have taken the step to a better lifestyle! Thank you for all your suggestions! Did you tell your children too? I have a 19 yr. old and a 24 yr. old.

  3. My husband is a really great guy-so that's not the problem really. I guess I am a very private person and part of me feels like I've reached a point that I need lapband and it's embarassing for me. When we first married I was about 65 pounds thinner-not skinny but I looked pretty good. Now 8 yrs later I am at a point that I need a lapband. I think he would be supportive-but I feel like I want to do it on my own. I am not sure though. Like I said I am a very private person and independent too...this seems like such a personal thing to me.

  4. Okay, I think I am ready for this procedure...but I really don't wantto tell anyone-not even my husband. My friend at work knows but I am thinking of doing this on my own. I am afraid my husband will tell people and truthfully it's embarassingthat I got to this weight. After the surgery I was just going to stay at a nearby hotel for the first night. I might tell my best friend, but that's it. Has anyone not told their children or their husband? Thanks!

  5. I had my first meeting with the doctor today! I am nervous and excited at the same time. He wants me to see a gastroenterologist for a GI consulation and clearance. What happens at the office? I thought the nurse said that I may not be able to drive home? I should have asked more questions! Can anyone shed light on this? Thanks!
