    Finally Got Approved

I am very happy for you.. You have made a great decision and thank God you did not give up. I will see you on the loser's bench soon, you have a spot saved for you.
  4. i had surgery in june.. pre and post surgery weight lost total is 78 lbs (i was 248 to 250 lbs before surgery, 228 day of surgery and now I am 170). I went from a size 20W to 12 on my bottom. I am 5'6 and my weight goal is 155 or size 10 bottom.. It has been a slow and steady process, I am very happy with my weight so far. My parents don't know about the surgery and I went home for thanksgiving and I kinda played it off so they did not suspect. They are very adamant though that I shouldn't lose anymore weight, lol, oh well they'll get over it. the pics are obviously before (at my highest weight) and after (last month, november)
  5. thanks everyone for your comments! It is great to look at the before pictures because it takes your mind time to adjust to the new you. i still have more to lose and will keep you guys posted.
  6. @ debbiec.. lol my parents, especially my father was not happy with my weight loss.. can you believe they feel like I'm too skinny? in what world am I skinny in those pictures?

    Skinny girl issues...WTH!!!!!

i work at a hospital and is very cordial to everyone.. now i'm getting comments from people i don't even know their names. people are telling me i'm going to blow away if i continue, i'm too skinny, i don't need to lose anymore weight, etc. it does get irritating after a while (if i asked your opinion on should i lose more weight then you can give me your opinion). I am loving my body and now am ready to seriously exercise to tone up and get leaner (i guess i will be hearing more comments ). i'm giving all the ones with a negative comment a mental middle finger, lol.
  8. Since this weight loss journey, I've had to deal with a lot of comments, mostly good. I am a pear shape and tend to lose weight first on top so I prepared myself to hear some negative comments (i heard those when i had lost weight before). I'm hearing things like: I need to eat something before i blow away, I don't need to lose anymore weight, i'm getting too skinny, I'm going to look like a bubblehead if i lose any more, etc. now mind you these are not from people that are significant to me. I'm 5'6 and started out at almost 250 and wear a size 20.. now I'm 182 and wear a size 14 on my bottom and 12 on top.. i'm trying to drop down to a size 10 bottom but would evaluate myself once i'm a size 12 on bottom.. so in what world is that too skinny or that i can't afford to lose more weight. I find myself getting defensive and that frustrate me. People are making it seem I'm being ridiculous and unreasonable. I guess i'm tired of hearing it because i'm going home to see my family on thanksgiving (they don't know about my surgery just that i've been losing weight) and I expect more comments along the same line. I just wanted to vent a little
  9. so I had surgery june 11th and have a lost 46 lbs since the surgery.. I am very happy with my weight loss. I eat basically anything I want but try my best not to eat horribly. I am exercising. Lately I haven't liked my eating habits (eating chips, ice cream, etc) and I haven't lost in a couple of weeks.. so I decided to go back on the liquid diet phase. Initially, i was just going to do 3 days but decided to extend it. I just finish the 4th day (i do crystal light, tea w/ a little honey, water, protein shakes, soup broth, ) and so far I'VE LOST ZERO POUNDS. so should i continue with the liquid diet or increase my caloric intake?

    Fashion Sense

for the brief period in my life when i lost a lot of weight, I absolutely enjoyed fashion.. then I regained the weight and avoided shopping as much as possible, i usually stay with simple clothes, no flower prints, clean lines but i didn't keep up with trends. now that i'm losing weight i find myself look at "stylish" clothes, i can't stand having clothes big on me. i like it tailored.
  11. The fact that I looked forward to vacation was amazing and to go to the beach was unbelievable. First of all I fit into the airline seats! I wore bikini tops with shorts and did not feel self concious (before I wanted to be covered from my neck to my knees, lol). I had a good time taking pictures, I used to be unhappy anytime someone wanted to take pictures of me but this time I was asking everyone to take my picture (my friend bless her heart was very patient with me). I have lost 60 pounds and am loving it (40 since the surgery in june). YAY for the sleeve!!!

    My first NSV's!!!

those little success are going to keep coming and it's amazing how great they are. when I was able to zip up an old pair of calf boots (that i couldn't wear for 5 years but refused to throw away) i was on top of the world, lol
  13. I came a long way... I still have issues with my body but I was so happy with the progress that I have made. I went from loving to travel and take pictures to avoiding vacations, hating pictures but pretending to be happy... now I look forward to doing things and living life.
  14. i'm seriously thinking about a boob job, not trying to go bigger just a little bit perkier (i dont want my parents/family to know, so it got to look natural)
  15. alas no babies yet.. waiting to find that special man lol
  16. well done!!! It does take a while to really see the new you, pictures helps a lot.. your mind will adjust.

    Please HELP me!!!!

    1. post op pain: what medications are given? 2. how long you will be in the hospital? 3. how many sleeve surgery has he/she done? 4. what are the possible complications? what are his complication rates? 5. how long will you have to be out of work? good luck.. you are making a very good decision.. the nervousness is totally natural. I had my surgery in June and I have no regrets (I did have the WTF moment after the surgery, lol)
  18. congrats! i went from a size 20 and am now a size 14.. I know exactly how you feel. yay for the sleeve

    Time flies...

Thank you so much for sharing your story.. As you know we all fear regaining the weight (because the other weightloss options had failed us) so it is great to see with the sleeve, if we do our part we can keep the darn weight off. It's great to hear success stories and very helpful to see what habits help with the success. I can't wait to share my wonderful experience years down the line.

  21. I know! my sister (who is skinny and think herself a model) said I'm starting to steal her thunder, lol
  22. thank you guys so much for the compliments... my self esteem is slowly but surely improving (but i promise i won't get a big head, lol). I feel more confident now and willing to try new physical activities. I can't wait to hit goal.
  23. I'm a slow loser too but I am very happy with my weight loss (most of the time ).. people who don't know i had the surgery are not too suspicious. I have lost total of 60 pounds, 40 pounds since the surgery (june 11th).. day of surgery I was 228... I did a happy dance when i was below 200 pounds. I want to lose 35 more, but will reassess my body after 20 more pounds. I want to be size 10/12 on my bottom and right now i'm a size 14.
  24. you will, trust me. I didn't even care about my incision scars
  25. so I promised pictures and now I'm delivering on my promise. (this is me a couple of years ago) (this is me now 3 months after the surgery, 60 pounds lighter)i lost 20 pounds preop and 40 pounds after the surgery
