  1. Congrats! I am one month out also. I was 164.5 after 16 months with a band and weighed in at 148.5 at my one month post op this morning. I havn't had many problems with food. I just stick with moist softer foods and chew really well. I love Greek Yogurt and it is only 80 calories with 14 grams of protein. Have you tried it?

    curious how people are eating...

I had my revision in one surgery on May 6th. My Dr. said the longer you have the band in the more damage it can do to your stomach thus two surgeries for some. My band was only in for 16 months so I was good to go. I had no preop diet except for the day before. I just went for my post op one month today and I went from 164.5 to 148.5 in four weeks. I am eating regular food now because my Dr. doesn't have as strict diet guidelines as some others and have had minimal problems. I can eat chicken, chili, potatoes, veggies, and even tried a quesadia and a wake up egg white wrap from Dunkin donuts. I feel so much better. No pain when I eat. The only thing hard to get used to is with the band if your bite of food isn't going down you know immediately. With the sleeve I have eaten things and been fine and then get a big stomach ache and diahrea about 20-30 minutes after eating if it doesn't agree with me. It happened with cream soup about 2.5 weeks out. Best of luck, you will do great!
  3. Same here. Revision on May 6th. No sign for feeling full. I can also eat what your eating no problem. I had pain and discomfort with every bite I took with the band so I am enjoying eating pain free. I do get a stomach ache if something doesn't agree with me which happens about 20 minutes after eating not like the band instantly. Takes some getting used to.
  4. I went 12 days with no BM and had to finally take a laxative. Now that I am 4 weeks post op and eating real food I have been going fairly regularly.
  5. I was sleeved May 6th and seem to be the same way. All my fellow sleevers said I would get a sign when I am full. So far no sign. I can eat a whole scrambled egg and about 1/2 cup to 3/4 cup of food. I get a full feeling but no hiccup, runny nose, etc... I am still eating much less than with the band so I am happy and nothing seems to hurt like with the band.

    Post-op activity

I agree every Dr. has different guidelines but walking also helps with the gas pains and bloatiness. I was up and walking and doing to much at 5 days post op and over did it a bit, I had an awesome recovery so far which is 4 weeks Monday. However, if you over do it you will feel it. I actually fell asleep walking a few times and I still get exhausted every afternoon from so much activity.

Just got sleeved on tuesday the 28th

I didn't pass gas for a week or two. I was so bloated but didn't have much pains at times I wish I could have passed some lol. I didn't have a BM for 12 days either. Everybody is different don't fret. Your body is getting a big shock right now with all the changes it will take some time to level out. Best of luck!

    Food post op

I am almost four weeks out and my doctor is a bit lenient on the diet saying soft to regular as tolerated after 3 weeks. I have had chicken, chili, veggies, a few fishies, and tuna and chicken salad. I had trouble with deli turkey and some dairy products but for the most part I just eat a little bit and seem fine.

    Cream soup... help?

I am about 3 weeks out and can not eat cream soup. I think its the heavy cream in it. I got the same way except it came out the other end plus a horrid stomach ache. I lived on greek yogurt, the 80 calorie light and fit. My Dr. did not have a problem with the fruit in it so it worked for me.
  11. I was allowed to start gummy vitafusion one week post op as well as the chocolate calcium chews which I got on Amazon called Calcet. Everyone's Dr. is different you may want to check.

    Constipation

I had my revision on May 6th. I didn't have a BM for 12 days even after taking miralax for days. I finally broke down and took a laxative. That worked and than same story. Now at 3 weeks I am eating regular soft foods and have been going almost daily. I think it is such a shock to your system in the beginning. Don't fret it will all work its way out lol!

    I know

I am 3 weeks out today and have lost about 13 pounds. I was on clear liquids for 5 days, whole liquids for 7 days and pureed/soft since 12 days. I eat Greek Yogurt, egg white omelette with Spinach and lowfat chedder cheese, tuna or chicken salad, weight control oatmeal, and have been trying regular food in very small amounts if it is soft. Have had no problems thus far.

    Milk

I am 20 days out and have no problem with milk. My Dr. did not say to stay away from it.

    Pain pain go away

I was great until about 10 days than woke up with a stabbing pain under my left breast in my ribs when I breath. Called the Dr. and they said its probably nothing just par to the course. That pain went away but moved to my back. Now 20 days out and the pain is finally subsiding. If it gets worse call your Dr.

    I don't hate my band, but ...

Had my revision on May 6th and very happy about it. I lost 45 pounds in 16 months with the band and my diabetes went into remission but my quality of life had greatly suffered. It hurt to eat anything, was constantly throwing up and had heart burn and reflux. My doctor said the longer the band is in the more it damages the stomach thank god my wasnt in to long and my stomach was ok. My body is happier without the foreign material in it and I feel like a new person. I did not eat much with the band so I think the post op diet has been quite easy for me. I am now on soft foods because my doctor is more lenient with his post op diet than some others and I can eat soft as tolerated after 15 days. I have had no problems and can't feel every bite like i did with the band. I think I will actually eat better with the sleeve because my options will be much more available once I am healed. Best of luck!
  20. I had my revision on May 6th. I feel wonderful however when I had something that did not agree with me I got the sweats a horrible stomach ache and the runs. Someone said this was dumping but I thought that was throwing up? With the band I got sick immediately if food didnt go down, this was a delayed reaction. I was find while eating and got sick about 15 minutes after I was done. Can someone tell me what this dumping really is? Thanks.

    Dumping...

Thanks for your answer. It was something sweet that got me sick and once a cream soup. I am only 3 weeks out so I am figuring it is trial and error.
  22. Had my revision on May 6th and still having trouble getting my liquids/protein in. I can't do protein shakes either but I ordered these very expensive protein shots that are only 2.9 oz and have 25 grams of protein. I use them on days I really need the protein to give me strength. Now that I am on soft foods protein has become easier. I eat 2 80 Cal Greek Yogurts and 2 egg whites each day but I am finding it hard to get my liquids in between trying to remind myself to eat every 3 or 4 hours. Hang in there it will get easier.
  23. Had mine on May 6th in one procedure. Although my band was only in for 16 months and my Dr. said my stomach looked good. I feel wonderful.
