  1. Staying on long term under 1000 cal is dangerous, nobody should be under 1200 when maintaining whatever their height. I still have weight to lose, but am on around 1500 and maintaining, I know I need to go back to around 1000 to start losing again. I am very active though, so I am hoping that when I get down to 1200 and keep as active as I am I'll lose the pounds left to goal.
  2. Congratulations, you must be so proud of yourself!!
  3. Same for me, don't need to use that much makeup and people also comment on my glowing complexion! Maybe our complexion reflects how we are feeling?
  4. I'm so sorry you're going through this but at least you have the common sense to tell everbody what might happen to them. I hope you can eventually get the sleeve, in the meantime take care!
  5. How interesting and true what you're all saying. The other thing I'd like to add that food is an addiction for most of us, but unlike other addictions (alcohol, drugs, gambling) we NEED to be in contact with our addiction in order to survive. So we can't give up completely on food, we have to live with it, prepare it, handle it, and try to avoid it at the same time! With alcohol, drugs you can stay away from it completely, and I'm not saying it's easy, but trust me to have the most difficult addiction to deal with
  6. Well now WE don't know if she is actually getting the posts cause she never answered back after loads of posts, but a lot of good advice
  7. Oh Coops I hadn't read this, but hang in there. To be honest I wouldn't mind having early menopause as I'm SICK of my periods and they already did their job in my life. I know the hormones and all that can drive you mad and it can make you very emotional. Just think that you'll be over and done with it and you'll still have your sleeve to help you in the process. If you weren't sleeved maybe you would drown your sorrows and emotions with food? Anyway goodluck and we're here for when you feel like screaming
  8. I feel the same Irene, I already booked for TT and boob job for december so I hope to get to goal soon I can't wait!! Thanks to this I'm back to basics this week, and working out loads!! I think we deserve to treat ourselves!
  9. 8 months out and I can eat about 3/4 of a sandwich, but i always eat the inside first and leave at least half of the bread. It scares me that I can eat quite a bit more now than 2 months ago, so I'm back to basics this week, chicken breast for most meals because it fills me up and I only leave some space for a few pieces of tomatoe and lettuce ,for Breakfast 1 piece of wholemeal toast with organic no added sugar Peanut Butter before I go to the gym. I am doing loads of exercise though so I hope the scale starts moving again
  10. Just had a look at your pics, you're looking FANTASTIC, congratulations!!
  11. COOPS that's great news!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I guess that just shows again that even though the numbers on the scales might not move that much the inches are coming off! Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Hi Shontel, I was looking at your pics and you look fab! Were those taken after your boobjob, because in the photos they look fantastic!
  13. very simple i meant!
  14. The surgery is technically very simpler, much simpler thaN ANY TYPE OF GASTRIC BYPASS OR OTHER GASTROintestinal surgeries, so I suposse if he's an experienced surgeon you should be fine, good luck in you choice
  15. My baby was 9 months old when I had my op, my mum came over but she can't lift heavy things either, so I still had to lift the baby once in a while, I wouldn't recommend you do the same but everything was fine. To be honest the recuperation is so fast if you don't have any complications, after 3 days postop I was feeling OK, after a week I was near normal, after 2 weeks I was 100%, my baby was baptised when I was 2 weeks out and I managed to sort things out. Good luck to you!
  16. Yep, I did the same nesting , just like when I was about to give birth! I agree with Tiff, make up, moisturiser, perfume, take things that will make you feel and smell nice! I also had a manicure and pedicure before going into hospital just like I did before giving birth, as well as waxing my waxable bits, call me weird but hey!
  17. I think I'm gonna try to go under 1000 cal again, I desperatly want to start losing again. Do you want to join me Coops?? All my knowledge of nutrition and how the human body works has proved of no use at all after I've had my surgery, but what I did learn is that we are all different and there is no 1 rule that suits everbody!
  18. At first my goal was to be a healthy BMI, about 141 lbs (I'm 5 4) I changed it to around 150 which is still in the overweight range BMI wise, so I have 9 lbs to go and will re evaluate when I get there. Our bodies change so much with the years that it's imposible to what will be right until we get there.
  19. I think we all have/had fears before our surgery. I didn't tell my inlaws-in fact i told a very small group of people, the last thing I needed was people criticising me when I'd already made the desicion and had my fears and worries about it anyway. I went to a party last night and felt fantastic, had the food that was available (and drink!) but in moderation, enjoyed it thoroughly and was able to get up and dance, take my coat off and feel good about myself! Complications happen, but aren't very common. Complications from being obese are much more common and likely to kill us. Hope this helps, and believe me , you're not a big baby, it's a big step to take (and some people would even say drastic) but it's worth it
  20. You haven't been round for a while, so THAT was the reason! Good that your doing things to looke better after all the hard work, that's what I think, as long as you don't take it toofar_I'd rather be addicted to that that than to food I booked my TT, liposection and boobs for december (in Paraguay-we're going for Christmas to see our family) and I'm so excited. I haven't reached goal yet, but I'm exercising loads and hoping to lose it all by december. Good luck with your TT revision!
  21. I understand how you feel, but believe me when the weight starts coming off and you can resume your normal activities/social life again you will so good and so liberated! Don't worry we all go through funny emotions, good luck with your sleeve, you'll love it!
  22. NO regrets, even though I haven't reached goal and put on hold buying our house to be able to afford surgery(self pay in the UK), worth every penny!!
  23. I wish this had a like button like FB, you're the best Coops and I know you're doing the best with your sleeve as well !!!
  24. First of all congratulations!!! What an achievement in such short time! You know about the photos I was/am the same, hardle any preop photos where I'm not hiding, and now even though I'm nearly 60lbs down I still hide without even realising! Good luck on the rest of your journey
