  1. I was just wondering how people are managing to cook for the rest of the family when you've been sleeved? I am 3 and a half weeks out, and as a stay at home mum/wife do all the cooking. I find that when I've finished cooking I'm already full, just with trying and tasting in what i think are tiny proportions. I used to taste loads while cooking and then eat with the family, I guess that's one of the reasons I put on so much weight! Any thoughts, advice or experiences with this???
  2. Hi Christa, it sounds yummy, I'm on mushies so def gonna try it, thanks for sharing with us!
  3. Hi, I live in Engand and got the sleeve and not the band because the band is very high maintanance. I'm happy with my desicion, and even though it hasn't been a month yet I think I'm making good progress. I've been told that the initial weight loss with the sleeve is much greater than with the band, because with the sleeve the restriction starts straight away. Good luck in whatever you choose to do!
  4. I used to love mashed potatoes, now I hate the stuff!!!
  5. I have only lost about 22 lbs and have about 30 to go, and I feel like running up to fat people to tell them about this wonderful op and that they CAN loose weight, but of course I just mind my own business as people above were saying. Today was my 1st real challenge, we went to the seaside and hubby and the children had fish and chips, a MUST when we go to the beach, and I just sat there having a minestrone soup  I am proud of myself though, and I just hope I can keep up with this behaviour until i reach my target weight!
  6. I bought "powerball" last week, started doing it and seems to be working. I've had my sleeve op just 3 weeks ago so can't do much exercise yet, but noticed that my arms are starting to flab
  7. I can understand your worry about leaks cause I had the same. Here in England they do the leakage test when your still anaestetized(or at least my surgeon does), he said if there were to be a leakage(very rare) I would know straight away because I would be really unwell, in terrible pain! Hope this helps x
  8. Hi everyone, I had my surgery on the 29th july, so it's been 3 weeks and 2 days and I lost about 22 pounds since the surgery. I live in England and got it done here, had to pay for it though, if I wanted to get it done on national insurance I would have to wait for aboout a year! I'm still mostly on protein shakes as well as soft cereal with milk in the morning and soup for lunch/dinner. Should be on a mushy diet, but blended chicken with vegetables isn't very nice. Feel a bit lonely as you all liove in the States, came across a few people who live in England, here it is quite new. I can't wait to see where I am at Christmas, I'm hoping to get rid of about 30 lbs by then. Good luck to you all!

It's been 3 weeks and 2 days since my operation and I'm supposed to be on mushy food. I can manage some very soft cereal and milk in the morning and for lunch usually a fruit smootie w added protein powder stuff or some kind of soup.. In the afternoon I usually have a milky iced coffee and at night I can manage 2 or 3 tablespoons of mushed up chicken w some vegetables. Today I was starving at lunch time, and my family are having a barbeque, so I mushed up a bit of potatoes, cauliflower and chicken, but only managed 1 or 2 teaspoons of it, wasn't very nice:mad:. I think I will just continue with the shakes, even though my nutritionist would rather I had proper food, just mushed up, to get all the nutrients. I'm taking vitamins since the pre-op diet anyway, so I'm not that worried. I lost about 22 pounds since the operation plus 4 pounds with the preop diet, so I'm happy with that:thumbup1: Anybody else around who had the operation recently and what experience with are you having??
  11. As long as your husband and children support you and you've done your research, go for it! I've had mine done a week agoin the UK and I'm really happy, good luck:thumbup:
  12. Hi I've had my gastric sleeve 1 week ago in Newcastle, I don't really know where to write yet, just wanted to know if anyone out there had their sleeve done in newcastle(washington-Mr Small) I'm doing really well, no pain, no hunger pangs, can't believe it! I lost about 4 pounds in a week, which I'm happy with. The only thing nobody warned me of the constipation! I think I'm not drinking enough fluids, anybody went through the same??
