    No appetite at all.....

Although I am pretty new post-op, my experience has been similar to other people .. no appetite. My nutritionist said that I have to treat my eating like a prescription now which makes sense to me. I am not worried .. I have been given this tool to change my life and I will adapt and work with it any way that I can. I am conscientious about what I am eating and mixing it up a bit each day so my body can get nutrients from different foods. I am not thrilled with the protein shakes as much but I am moving onto to the soft food stage and grilled chicken is a couple of weeks away. Stay the course .. you will be fine.

    Booze

I had the same advice as above .. abstaining is better because of the sugars in most alcoholic drinks. Sugar is not friendly with your new tummy. However, apparently most people can tolerate a little bit but going forward, the advice I was given was to really take it easy and you will have to - you will not be able to consume the same amount as before.

    Ugh...

When I met with Dr. Landerholm earlier this week for my post-op, he said I was right on par with how tired I looked (gee, thanks *lol*) but it gets way better very soon. I liked him and appreciated his honesty. No regrets with PSSC. I start my puree (hell) tomorrow .. this will be a rough week (puree meat?) *ick* .. ahhh .. I will make this work somehow

    Dr. Landerholm (Edmonds, WA)?

I had done my homework with the Puget Sound Surgical Center as well and found quite a bit of positive feedback about Billing/Landerholm and found NO negative feedback about them or their surgical centre. I questioned the same stats re: numbers, mortality, etc., too. You have had your surgery now and I am one week ahead of you. Billing did the surgery and Landerholm did the follow-up .. they are both exactly as they are .. straight-up and competent, IMO. I had only but one complaint that had nothing to do with these guys and it was attended to ASAP. They treated us very well and my own GP here in Vancouver is very impressed with the follow-up support. I would definitely recommend this clinic to anyone. Hope this helps (now) ...

    pureed/mushey food options

Rough phase for me, too .. the idea of pulverizing everything is not appealing to me at all. I can handle the fruits, dairy and veggies but meat? I will probably stick with my protein shakes and adding unflavoured protein powder to my soups, etc. Thanks for the info.

    Ugh...

Hi there. I had my procedure done by Dr. Billing a week prior to you and I am feeling great now but the first few days were rough just because of the surgery in general but get those fluids in .. you will feel so much better.
