  1. My doctor addressed this today. I am 6 days post op. He said it can take 3 to 4 weeks to start feeling more energetic and that increasing my calories will really have no bearing on my energy level. I thought that was weird. Hope you start to feel more energetic soon! Don't over do it though. I went for a 50 minute walk yesterday and spent the rest of the day dragging around. Today I feel so lethargic and have had more pain. Stupid me. Good luck to you! Holly
  2. Congrats and Welcome! Keep us updated. Holly
  3. Yeah, it is weird how our diets vary. I go from full liquids to soft foods. No "mushies".
  4. It was the 3rd day after surgery before I could get 64 oz in. And that was drinking while I was up with my insomnia or I think it would have been longer. Hope all goes well for you! Holly
  5. You look great! I Hope that I've lost 65 lbs in 7 months! Thats slow? Really?

  7. Before you know it you will be home and think....man what a week! I'm saying a prayer for you. Holly
  8. Yeah! You made it! Welcome. Glad to hear that you are home
  9. Glad that your experience was so good; sounds like you are doing great!
  10. O Good Lord I'm dense sometimes; I blame it on the anesthesia though for now. I hope that clears quickly Lynda. I will be praying for you!
  11. I like you was really scared, even crying the day before surgery, day of surgery, and on the way to OR. But I can't tell you how elated I was when they woke me up. The first words out of my mouth was "I made it, thank you Jesus!". Every day since surgery I am grateful that I am alive and kicking; it has really been a wake up call for me. I am blessed
  12. Hoping you will have a speedy recovery! Just wanted to let you know day 2 was definitely the roughest for me. I was really worried about getting my liquids down. I fought some nausea that day also. My surgeon came by before I went home and explained that the swelling would begin to subside the next day. Just knowing that made me feel so much better. He was right. Then next day I was able to get more fluids in (though not 64 yet), but I felt it went down easier. As far as the liver cysts, try not to get too worked up over it, ok? I am a sonographer and my specialty is scanning cirrhotic livers. Of all the things I see, cysts are the least concerning. I am not a doctor obviously but just hope I can set your mind at ease a little. It's good that your doctor took care of that while he was in there, but usually they don't mess with them unless they are growing or pushing on vessels. Hang in there and keep us updated!
  13. Hello Lynda, glad you are doing alright! When do you get to go to full liquids? I love my EAS shakes and have been eating a little yogurt here and there. 10 days till soft foods, cant wait. I quit taking my pain meds the day after surgery and decided last night that enough was enough and took a dose. What a difference! I am trying to take as little as possible so that I can be totally aware of what my body is doing but my sister reminded me that your body heals faster when it is not in pain. I know what you mean about things feeling a little loose. Such a weird sensation. When I touch my belly it doesn't feel real; kind of numb. I also have a weird tugging sensation on one of my right incisions. Take care!
  14. Ok, this is kind of random but I thought I would add my 2 cents. Since my surgery, I have had dreams of sex with my husband EVERY night, no lie. My stomache is pretty sore so I don't think I am quite ready physically, but I can't wait!
  15. Glad to see you are doing alright. I got to start full liquids today so I am working on a chocolate protein drink right now...so much better than the isopure! Hang in there girl! Sounds like you on right on track.
  16. glad to see you checking in lynda!
