  1. @browneyedgirl89- my employer did not elect to include WLS in their coverage. Luckily my husbands does!!
  2. Im being banded by dr. reily at true results in houston too!! Im using insurance so im currently half way through the process ....only 3 months to go woohoo!! Please tell us your experience and good lyck to you all!
  3. Im in the same process and it has to be 6 consecutive months
  4. I in my 6 mo (4 more to go!) Process and I'm using true results in houston and they have me with dr. reily. October can't seem to get here fast enough!!! I am anticipating problems with my insurance since I plan on using my secondary, bcbs il, since my primary, aetna, won't cover it. But I'm gonna get this fine and get banded!!!
  5. My primary insurance carrier does not cover the lap band, but my secondary does, which is what I planned on using. I plan on dropping my primary at open enrollment since I only kept it bc the last few times I tried to get on my hubbys ins, the hr dept kept 'losing' my dependency papers and I didn't want to be left with no ins. Will I be able to use my secondary ins for the surgery, I know they convert it and imcurrently onmy 3rd month med. Supervised diet. Has anyone used their secondary ins? Its bcbs il.
  6. Awesome!! I wish I would have made my consultation a long time ago. Best of luck to ya!!
  7. I just started my 6mo supervised diet. I have a bmi right at 40, no co morbities, and bcbs il. They advised me asl I need is bmi 40, 6mo supervised diet, and medical clearance and I should be.approved. What has been your experience with Bcbs IL? I am also going through True Results in Houston, Tx. Thanks!
  8. Hello! Im in the same boat as you. I really thought I was going to walk out of my consultation really bummed. I have a bmi right at 40 but I'm pretty healthy. I, too, just started my 6 mo plan so I can be approved for insurance and that with my ekgs, psych evals, etc is all I need! I still don't know 100% if I'll be approved but I was real motivated to get everything I ned come october so I can be approved. Good luck to you!
  9. Im about the same size as you and im going to wait until after I get surgery to make my decision about a reduction. Like someone said earlier, you don't want to be left with nothing!! In addition, cups sizes, even at the same letter, arent the same size, it scales with the size around your chest. So a 40dd and 38dd are not the same cup size.
  10. I want to be able to shoot hoops with my 8yr old son. I just started my 6 month med supervised plan and plan on having lapband surgery october if this year. I've been thinking about it for several years and have finally made out to a consultation. I don't know why I didn't make it to all the others. I guess I was scared. Now I know 100% that this is something I want to do. I just told my mom and she asked me why I want to do this. I just tried to shoot hoops with my son and I lasted about 5 minutes. Im no basketball player, but still. And he's my step son so I haven't even raised a baby yet. But I want to be able to play basketball with my 8 yr old son; I want to be able to keep up with my babies. Just felt like sharing..... Ashley
  11. I have bcbs il and they have me on a 6 mo plan?? im documenting everything I put in my mouth!!
  12. I agree with whoever above suggested to make a call. You never know. I put off attending my seminar for 6 mo s because I didn't think I'd get approved. Now I'm on my 6 mo diet and well on my way to getting approved. If you are in the houston area, I'd suggest checking out true results.
  13. I just started my 6 mo supervised plan with True Result, Houston, so they can submit me for insurance. They told me that's all I need to be approved. WooHoo!! I thought it wouldn't have been alot more difficult but they are making it seem all so easy!!! Glad to hear everyone has had a good experience. Ashley
  14. I have the same questions. I've been thinking about this surgery for many years but my insurance wouldn't carry it. Now I habe my DH, bcbs il, and they do. I go for my consult on april 15 and I am so excited, but extremely nervous that I won't get approved. Im 5'3ish 220+ so my bmi is 37-39. I don't know exacts...sorry. I have acid relux, back and shoulder pain (40 E), and possibly sleep abnea, but I haven't done a test yet. Good luck to you. Let me know how it turns out!
