  1. It's been a year since I've been on this site. I wanted to say Hello and find out how everyone's doing. I'm almost two years post op. I've managed to keep my weight off, but it's been a challenge at times. Healthy choices and exercise are key!

  9. a lil disappointed...can't afford both procedures right now..so will be scheduling for panniculectomy..good thing is that he will be doing pretty much the same work as in a tummy tuck (tightening of the abdominal walls and giving me a new belly button) and will not charge me more then what the ins. co. is paying him...

  10. 2:45 appt today with plastic surgeon....hoping that he is open to doing the twins and panniculectomy at the same time...lol...we will see..

Getting sleeved was the best decision I've ever made....only regret was that I didn't do it earlier...

    The Mental Change

Hello, I know what you mean! I have the same problem! When someone refers to me as being thin, In my mind, I'm thinking (who "me"?) It does not sink in sometimes...I think that because the weight loss happens so quickly, we sometimes have a hard time grasping what has happened...I'm hoping that with time it registers. I look at old pics of me and then compare them to the new pics....this helps me a whole lot... Take Care! Merry Christmas!
  17. blue cross just approved me for panniculectomy to remove excess skin...Yay!

  18. Is it Friday yet?

  19. I was so scared around the fifth month post op that I went to natural dark color (stopped coloring blonde) and cut about 9 inches off. It has helped with the hair loss. I have to say that now 8 months post op... I'm not seeing so much shedding. I have not noticed any new hair growth though...
  20. Cold in Florida...low 40"s...let me not complain..could be a lot worse!

    Body image changes after WLS

Lol...I know exactly what you mean (the look on your face) when someone refers to you as skinny! I'm in shock...I'm thinking ME? No way!! cause I just don't see it at times...It's good to know that I'm not crazy My twin sister gets annoyed with me...she says "You have to be kiddin me, right? You just like people to tell you that you're skinny!" How can you not see it? She just doesn't understand... Are you exercising? how often? how long if you are?
  22. Question: How many of you belong to any type of support group (Over Eaters Anonymous, WLS) outside of this site? Do you find it helpful? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated...

    In Need of a Friend/Mentor

Hi Rebecca, I don't consider myself a veteran, but can tell ya that I had my surgery 4/8/10 and it was the best decision I ever made for myself. Your concerns and worries are normal. I thought of so many things that could possibly go wrong, but then I thought of all the good and positive that could come out of it. I have a new life and I'm able to do things with my kids that I couldn't do before. My outlook and attitude has changed and I'm a much happier person now that I'm healthier. Focus on positive thoughts and continue to find the support you need on this site. I will say a prayer for you...everything will we fine!
  24. Hello! This is your health and well-being. You are an adult capable of making your own decisions. I would not allow anyone (including my sister) to decide something as important as this. Your sister might not agree with your decison, but she should support you and respect you and your decisions. Maybe you can be an inspiration to her after your surgery, so that she could do something about her weight and health.. Good Luck!
