  1. I was banded on May 9th and I am down a little over 50 pounds, I got my second fill on 7/21 and doing good so far... Good luck to everyone !
  2. the longer i stay off the better i feel about my decision to do this. There is a lot of whinning which is fine as this is a board , the issue i have with the whinning is that most of it's over nonsense and people not being patient. A lot of these people use this forum for attention as well. So my adivce to you is to not loose sight of why you are doing all this and keep the negative energy out of your head when reading the nonsense on here. Good Luck, only you can do this for yourself ! Chuck
  3. HI Frank, My story is identical to yours ! My partner and I have been together for over 20 years and we both love to cook, entertain and most of all EAT ! I had my lap band surgery on May 9th and have lost over 40 pounds and get my first fill this coming Monday. All your concerns are in fact legitimate ones..... I do not regret having the surgery because I know that I would be even heavier than what I was before I started this and nothing tastes as good as being able to live my life without serious medical problems or even DEATH ! I love myself and my life with my partner MORE ! We still cook and entertain and that will never change. The only change is that I will eat less and I guarantee you what you do eat will not only fill you up but will also satisfy you and the hunger. I know it's not for everyone and believe me I had my doubts but I am so HAPPY I did this. Hope this helps and good luck to you ! Chuck
  4. I am shocked your Dr didn't prescribe you a delayed release Nexium RX to help keep not only the reflux down but the swelling as well. I would call them and ask for something Hope you feel better !
  5. Thank you guys, good luck to you all on your journey
  6. I am getting my first fill on monday and have no idea what to expect..... My Dr told me that I will need to be on liquids and mushies for the first couple of days after the adjustment.... did anyone else do this and was it helpful each time you had a fill ? thanks for the input. Chuck
  7. So I am 4 weeks post op and will start solids on monday evening after my 4 week post-op appointment with my surgeon. any suggestions on what to eat ?? I am not sure when my first fill will be, can anyone tell me when they got their first fill or how long after surgery did you have to wait for a fill ? I am nervous about gaining weight while waiting for a fill...... Any info is appreciated ! Thanks and good luck to everyone !
