day 7, still on clear fluids

Discouraged that Im still on clear fluids...want to move past this........help /suggestions........heartburn keeps me from eating anything but clear fluids.....

I am shocked your Dr didn't prescribe you a delayed release Nexium RX to help keep not only the reflux down but the swelling as well. I would call them and ask for something

I agree, I think that there would be some sort of medication that you could be given for the heart burn. Sorry to hear that you're still on clears :(

You don't need a prescription for Nexium, just go to the drugstore and get Prilosec OTC - it's a standard suggestion from most surgeons to take it for 6 months after surgery. It helps retrain your stomach to create less acid. You'll feel relief within 24 hours. In the meantime suck on a couple of tums to help.
