Halloween (Oct. 31) - What will you Weigh?

Cludgie.........235............165............163.........2 Been stalling like mad, then down 1lb today, so hope I can make halloween goal, but I am really not sure if I will!
  3. Well, its been a tough time again recently (sorry I know I am usually either boasting or moaning on here!), and I've been pretty tough on myself over a lot of things, so I was in much need of a bit of cheering up. Today I have been overwelmed by compliments, and people seeking my advice on weight loss because of my "success" (I am very aware of the last 12lb, and my many flaws, but other people aren't seeing that). Firstly I was shopping, and an old friend saw me from a distance, but wasnt close enough to say hi, but she took the time to e-mail me, to say how well I looked, within 10 minutes another old friend e-mailed to say she'd seen my facebook picture, and needed my advice on weight loss because I was obviously doing well, and then when I got to work THREE seperate colleagues commented on my weight loss, and basically asked when I was going to stop, one even said that every monday morning she waits to see how much further I have wasted away!! I of course just mumbled and blushed a bit, but Gosh it felt good!!! Its funny because I don't recognise myself at all any more, I've just reviewed my day 0, 2 month, 3 month, 6 month and 9 month progress pics, and I don't recognise me in any of them, I look bigger than I ever felt in the first 3 pics, and thinner than I feel in the second 2 - this is a very strange journey, but I quite like it!
  4. I love that "All of a sudden one day you won't recognize yourself in the mirror and you'll realize you saved your life!!!" perfectly put! Total inspiration - thank you!

    Amazing! Well done!
  7. Hey Raine, your post is spookily well timed for me. I recently dropped a dress size, but have dropped little weight ( I am 5ft 8, and 166lb), I am still 12lb from my original "dream" goal, although I am certain that it wont be quite enough when I get there (I am 15lb from a 6 stone loss, which sounds better to me). Today I bought my new winter coat which is a uk 10, or a US 6, which is snug, but fastens and looks good. Nine months ago, pre-op my deam size was Uk 14, I am now 2 sizes smaller than that, but see so much further to go, however I just do not know what is realistic, or sensible! I mean seriously I am in us size 6/7 and all I see is how fat I still am, and how far I have to go still. I am grateful, but do wonder if I will ever feel that enough is enough!?!? I guess I am also seeking answers on a postcard please!!

    emotional/stress eating

I completely agree! I only ever feel hungry post sleeve if I am stressed or depressed. Well done for resisting temptation, and fingers x'd your son will be ok.
  9. Wow, well done, fantastic transformation! It is also really encouraging to see people who had doubts get to goal and beyond, I am stalling 12lb from my overall goal, and am feeling like I'll never get there. You are a true inspiration!
  10. Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes YES!!!! As others have said, I am happier, healthier, and would have NEVER done this without help. I have been massively Pi@@ed off all week because I am stalling - AGAIN, and I am generally a slower loser, but today I had to have a new ID photo for work, and when I saw it I was SHOCKED! The picture isnt how I see me, the woman in the picture looks both healthy, and very happy, and for the only time in my entire life I looked at it, and thought "thin". I am just 1lb away from my ideal weight range, and I weigh less than I did at 11 years old, when i put away my laundry I am constantly amazed at the size of my new clothes (I swear my jeans are really a tardis - they have to be bigger on the inside than they look outside!!), and when I go shopping I no longer have to dive to the back of the rack to find my size, it is normally second, or third in! I could go on, and on, even on a bad day I can find a thousand good things about my sleeve!

    9 Months out 5 Stone

    From the album: Cludgie's Journey

  13. Ok, so like many people, I have a birthmark. Mine is a mole tucked so far up my thigh I have literally only seen it when contorted, and it has never seen the sunshine. So today I am wearing some silly underwear which fasten at the crotch, and after I pee I am hopping around trying to re-fasten things, when I see myself in the mirror (dont allow them at home), and notice a new mole on my leg. I'm at an age where these things happen so wasn't thrown, until it occurred to me that it was a familliar size & shape! So I check it out, and as the lbs have shifted so has my birthmark!! What was once very hidden is now sat at the top of my leg clearly visible, even in granny knickers! A very odd, and unexpected NSV!

  15. I get extremely emotional when I think about how wonderful this surgery has been for me, I can't explain it wothout crying, and every time I hit a mini milestone I'll have a sob beside the scales! The main difference i found was an inability to deal with stress, as soon as I couldn't silence things by smothering them with food I realised I had no coping mechanism, its been getting better, although my co-workers notice my stress levels more now, so they may not think its a good change!

    The Tortoise and the Hare

Well done on the weight loss, I'd agree with Diva, you have done BRILLIANTLY considering you were sleeved May, I have a 4 month head start on you and am still chipping away at it, with a stone still to go! We will get there though! I'd like to add one more thought (stolen from Baz Lurman's Sunscreen) "The race is long, and in the end it is only with ourselves" - So weather slow and steady wins the race, or just ultimately gets us to the finishing line, I'll gladly take it! Good luck with the final stretch.
  21. I agree that the blood thinners used post op probably have an effect on your period, although not connected to my surgery I have issues with regularity of my hormonal cycle too, and once (due to stress) experienced a period which went on at full pelt for 6 weeks until I finally got medication for it, although your is longer than you are used to, I believe it isn't unusual to occasionally have one which goes on a while, especially if you are goung through a lot of physical/emotional stress. Fingers x'd for you.
  22. Too cute! I was always so sad that havng my kids when I was bigger meant I had no discernible bump, infact when I had my eldest I was delivered at 35 weeks so had to finish work early, so I had to call a client to explain why I wouldn't be able to make our appointment, to which he responded with "oh, yes well I did wonder but I didn't want to ask, just incase you werent actually pregnant!" - I WAS ABOUT TO GIVE BIRTH, AND STILL HE WASN'T SURE IF IT WAS FAT OR NOT! You have no such worries!
  23. I watched every documentory on weight loss and weight loss surgery that I could find (sent my poor husband insane for months with them), but didn't think to look on youtube until I was post op, was not phased by it either before or after surgery. I also had my gallbladder out a few years ago, and I mad a much quicker recovery after my sleeve surgery, so if you've had that done there really is nothing to be worried about, this is certainly no worse in my opinion.

Do u drink pepsi and coke??

Well I am probably going to get shot down for saying this, but I have a galss of pepsi max a day, however I drink it as flat as possible, and if I get a very fizzy drink I will shake it or stir it to get rid of some gas, and from the moment I could eat again I have had a drink at meal times. I find that I feel choked, and get a lot of discomfort if I don't have even just a couple of sips of liquid when I eat, I am still satisified after the equivalent of a chicken breast, so I don't think I am stretching things, or over eating, its just one change too far for me I'm afraid.
