    Will it work?

I too had metabolism problems... and was very scared this wouldnt work.... but its a tool and its up to us to use it well. I am not too successful right now...but I need to workout more and take more Water.. In the first month we loose a lot of weight...but later we have to make effort and see that we are doing every thing right. more water, more Proteins, more exercise, no stress and so on..all the best ....for me this was the only option as I didnt loose much with the band.....

hello..I am a band to sleeve patient...they put me on liquids for 3 weeks...they said stomach takes long to heal as its a double operation. chicken so early...I have not yet tried chicken I am 6 weeks out...only soft foods for 3 months for me...I have 2 pieces of fish...cant eat more...U r lucky you don't have restriction...its a horrible feeling when the food we eat doesn't agree with us. I get a bitter taste for hours... do take it easy and have more Soups,liquids..I was told to have 1/3rd of the Protein shake at one time....it was frustrating...

    late night food

i was having a milk shake at 10 pm and slept soon after that. maybe thats wrong...it must be getting converted to fat . should I have it early and then walk a bit? any suggestions? my weight loss has stalled.
  11. we get pain only if we have strained the sleeve...did you sleeve in a wrong position or did you lift anything or did you exercise? it takes almost 3 months to heal completely. Better to get it checked properly. Have they given you any pain killers? try complete rest,,,but pain while urinating is because of dehydration. drink more Water.

    Disappointing show, everyone still fat!

weight loss depends on exercise and diet....so maybe they dont have the given diet...or exercise...I hope I dont fall in this group... EveN I noticed many fat people at our follow up meetings..and many were asking me..why I did this surgery when I am not so fat......sleeve is a tool to be used wisely.

    Disappointing show, everyone still fat!

very true..its a commitment to sensible eating..the day I dont have enough Protein I am sure to put on weight..and then it takes quite a few days for those few gms to come down..so every day is important. we have to make life time habits ....of eating proper food at proper times.
  17. Harringm should be banned...how dare she give us tension when we have already had our surgery...making statements to scare people.. cancer is all around us....we really dont know the reasons...there are so many types of cancers.. such people should be stopped for God's sake...
  18. thanks haringm ....but most of us are very happy with our sleeve..and w all have to die sometime...many get cancer without the sleeve.... so lets be optimistic and take care...never ignore any strange symptoms...follow doctor's orders and so on. Quality of life definitely improves...I am just 6 weeks out,but feel like a new person..i am slimmer,my arthritis is less,BP gone I am a happier person.
  19. hello..we all have cravings,,and body is going thru hormonal changes...so we may like something and dislike another. i am 6 weeks out and thinking about food all the time...nothing appeals to me.. follow your doctors orders when you start loosing weight you will be happy and will forget all minor problems.

THIS is how the first 4 weeks go...

superb post..most of us have gone through all this...even i am so happy I can sleep comfortably now. But I keep wondering..oh...will it hurt if I sleep on one side...but now things are fine..weakness ,pain,is gone...sometimes I have been scared when my pain increased due to traveling.. This journey is surely an amazing one.

who cares if it is the easy way out?

i agree...its a tool we have..and with major health issues we have gone for this surgery accepting its risks.dieting and exercise never worked for me.I love my sleeve.I am just 6 weeks out. I can eat only little and try for maximum Protein though i don't have much non veg...only fish which has Omega 3 and is good for my knees. wish you luck all my friends here.

    Any1 scared it wouldnt "work?"

even I am scared...I notice the day I eat less Proteins the scale moves up....so we have to watch your food Water and exercise..its a life time effort...isnt 1200 cal too much???I think 700 to 900 cals is ideal. we will do it. be fit and healthy...all the best to you all.
