  1. "A Collection of Neighborhood Recipes" from Living after Weight Loss Surgery. Another great sight for support and information. www.livingafterWLS.com
  2. I really like this product. http://www.lipoinabox.com/ Comfortable, NO ROLL.
  3. I CAN APPRECIATE WHAT YOU ARE GOING THROUGH. AND I WISH YOU WELL.I WAS SLEEVED 12-8-10. MY MOM DIED SUDDENLY ON 12-19-10. SHE WAS MY ROCK.THEN CHRISTMAS. HAD MANY CRAVINGS FOR COMFORT FOOD. GAVE IN TO A COUPLE. IMMEDIATE DUMPING AND PAIN. THE CRAVING PASSED. WITH MY SISTER'S SUPPORT. WE MADE IT THROUGH AND I WAS SOON BACK ON TRACK. AS FAR AS FOLLOW UP CHECK WITH YOUR PROGRAM. MY DOC TOLD ME I HAD ACCESS TO THE NUTRITIONIST AS LONG AS I NEEDED. AND WE HAVE A MONTHLY SUPPORT GROUP MEETING WHICH IS FREE INCLUDING PARKING. I WOULD THINK POST OP VISITS WOULD BE INCLUDED OR YOUR DOC MIGHT NOT CHARGE BASED ON YOUR SITUATION. AND THERE IS ALWAYS THIS SITE FOR SUPPORT. PERHAPS WE SHOULD START ON OFF GROUP FOR THOSE WHO LOST THEIR SUPPORT PERSON?
  4. Hi. I am a night shift peep. Have been for at least 25 years. I am an RN in an inner city ED. Happen to be on vacation and cannot fall asleep yet. So busy at work lately don't have time for online till I get home. How do you handle eating during your shift? Wake up much on your night off? Any issues with leg cramps? Still can't figure out how to post a tracker or respond on my smartphone so it doesn't post to all my friends.
  5. I'm pretty sure if it is going to happen,it will happen regardless what you do.. Mine started coming out about 4 months out. Continued till about 12 months. I tried many different vitamins and minerals and supplements and hair care products.. I wore a wig for about 6 months. When it stopped falling out I started to use Intra Force by Redkin. recommended by a stylist @ Ulta. A 3 step treatment.AMAZING RESULTS.. Major growth in the first 30 days. Took the wig off. Still using the products. Not 100% yet but close. Only thing I wish I had increased my protein from 80 to 100 gms per day. hard enough to get the 80 in .17 months post op. Good Luck, I could send you my wig. See my facebook page for a pic.
  6. I think I have found one that works. With 4 herniated discs land exercises can be painful, even yoga. But I have been working with my trainer doing my workout in the pool. I'm amazed what I can do in the water that I couldn't do on land. An hour workout - twice the resistance + 1/4 the pain = I can do that !
  7. Mine was pretty interesting. You get hooked up with many wires to your head with some really goopy stuff. My place had a shower, bring shampoo. You are also hooked up with other straps and such. Nothing painful. Then you go to sleep.I work nights so I had mine on days after my shift so I had no problem falling asleep. I slept for a time without and with a C-Pap machine. I used my machine about 1 month pre only.No need after. I use my fitbit now to monitor my sleep. Much improved.
  8. Pick a favorite and have it one last time.I used to LOVE Prime Rib. Now 1.5 years out beef other than ground does nothing for me and does not go down easy.
  9. This is totally my opinion. I love my sleeve. I had wanted a bypass but do to a Vitamin D Deficiency my doc recommended the sleeve. As an ED Nurse. I see several Lap band patients in the ED every week with issues, mostly pain and vomiting.I have not seen a 'sleever'. I know there are many factors involved. But based on what I saw it helped my decision to get the sleeve.
  10. Good Monday Morning, Just discovered this group. So nice to have local access. Both in the Chicago area and specific to sleevers. I had my surgery 12/08/2010. 80 lbs gone. about 40 more to go. Still waiting for "onederland". Seem to be stuck here@ 212. Really trying to focus on the exercise . I have some back issues that result in more pain after my workout. Waiting to see ortho next week for direction. Even water aerobics hurts. I am an ED Nurse and I work 7p-7a. so my posting my come at odd times. Looking forward to meeting 'locals'. How do I add one of those colorful tracker bars to this?
