  1. Hello all! I'm new to this but here I go... I've been overweight all my life, but after my first pregnancy it went down hill....:cry I tried EVERYTHING from weight watchers to gyms, to meds:( ..I did loose 40 pounds but that was during my last pregnancy through which I was a gestational diabetic. ( I was very controled them because my child's life was on the line.) Once my son was born (VERY HEALTHY) I held the weight off for almost a year and then my thyroid and PCOD ended that... My Lap-Band experience began in September of 2006 and my surgery is scheduled for January 26th (16 days away:rockon: )...What can I say...I've lost 20 pounds in the interim (following the diet the nutritionist and I worked on):clap2: I'm excited, happy but also nervous...If you have any advice, words of wisdom or encouragement.....I could really use it. My husband supports me 200% but there are always other people who need to add their 2 cents and sometimes that's all their words mean... I hope to hear from you soon!!!!!!!!!!!!:hippie:

    January Bandsters???

It's interesting how I keep hearing about pre-op diets and liquid diets before surgery..I was put on a diet for 1 month by my nutritionist and psychologist, to see if I could handle it, I lost 20 pounds when I went to see the nutritionist and she said that was great..but I wasn't told to do a liquid diet before surgery, i wasn't told that the diet had to be followed throughout my process..now my surgery date is 1/26 and reading all these posts, i'm a little worried..i guess i'll just have to ask all my questions reguarding these things on tuesday when I go to see the surgeon for the last time before surgery..I'm so glad i read through all these...any more ideas on what questions I should be asking???? HHEELLPP!!!:help:
  4. Thanks ReneBean...

    January 11th...

Second day of being on this site and feeling good about becoming part of this communtiy. What better day to start a journal than today? I have a massive headache but besides that I'm doing ok.I guess my addiction to the internet (no freaky stuff!!) keeps me from goin to bed. Nervous and a little scared would describe my thoughts regarding surgery...I have my last pre-op appointment with my surgeon on 1/16 and have a few questions to ask...On 1/23 I have my pre-op testing (blood work, xray and ekg) I'm a little upset because my husband (MY ROCK) won't be able to come to these appointments with me due to travel with work...:cry but, the bright side..he'll be home the day before my surgery and will be here to pamper me for the whole week afterwards. I guess that's a plus...Well, I've taken my motrin and am off to :scared: , have some fat free:popcorn:and watch my shows...Ugly Betty is AWESOME!!!!! :clap2:

Keep me in your prayers as i will keep you all in mine!!! God Bless:pray2:
