  1. thanks everyone! i know it's just something i have to go through, and the weight loss and health definitely outweigh it.
  2. so, the hair is starting to shed. it's pretty scary to see it coming out. i knew it was coming, and thought i would take it better than i am, but wow. i'm pretty bummed. my hair has always been my THING! i've taken pills, been getting in all my protein....i knew it probably wouldn't make a difference, but still. it's been going on for a few weeks...hopefully it won't last too long. blah! just needed to vent...
  3. You've already made it 2 weeks. What's one more? I was sleeved by Dr. Nick as well, and it was a tough 3 weeks, but I got through it. I would rather follow doc's orders rather than chancing a leak or other complication. He gives those orders for a reason. .....but that's just me!
  4. I'm thinking a tummy tuck and boob lift/implant for sure! Oh and the clothes!! I love clothes!
  5. I love Magic Pop! I get mine at Central Market. YUM!
  6. I have a desk job and thought 2 weeks would be plenty. Wrong! I ended up taking a total of 3 weeks off, and still had to take it slow when I went back to work.
  7. thanks for all the different responses! i am 6 weeks out, and cleared for regular food now, and the chicken was very mushy and shredded, which is why i decided to go for it. it also could have just been bad chicken salad! ...it was from the cafe at work.
  8. Does anyone else have problems eating chicken salad? I've tried it two different times, and both times it just hasn't agreed with me. It's a bummer because I really enjoy it. Even after a couple of bites, I start to feel ill. I have no problems with chicken itself, I eat that quite often with no problems. Maybe it's the mix of spices and the mayo? Blech!
  9. Do you know when he gives the go ahead for exercise? I can call, but just wanted to see if there was a general time frame he's given others. Thanks!!
  10. thanks everyone! i did go out and get one, and boy did it make me and my feet feel good!!
  11. This is so random, but i just wanted to make sure before i did it. I am 3.5 weeks out, and desperately needing a pedicure. Do you think there is any harm in getting one, since i'm not completely healed? I'm just thinking fungal infection from pedicure, coupled with a body that is still trying to get to 100% healed. The place i go is very clean, and i've never had a problem before, but with my luck you never know!
  12. the first couple of weeks i had zero hunger. in week 3 i'm starting to feel hunger, but not the ravenous hunger i experienced pre-op.
  13. Oh Tiffykins! I was so hoping you would reply to my post! Thanks for the advice and the reassurance! I guess I am still really early out, and my stomach isn't used to anything but liquids. Like you always say, it takes time!
  14. I had terrible pain where you are having it throughout the second week. My doc said it was normal, and that I just over did it. I was ordered to keep with the pain meds, heating pad, and laying flat for awhile. I did this for a few days and was feeling almost no pain about a 3-4 days later. Now it's just more discomfort not really pain. Hang in there!
  15. I'm a stomach sleeper, and can't wait to be able to do it again!! My butt hurts too from laying on my back so much, and internally I aggravate my incision when laying on my side. I'm 3 weeks out and not as in much pain, but I don't want to chance re-aggravating by trying too early. As far as sex, I was told 6 weeks, and as I felt able.
  16. Hi all. I am 3 weeks out today, and started soft solids. I was so excited, because I was so over the liquid stage. However, I'm noticing that I'm only able to eat literally a couple of bites of anything before I feel like I've over done it. Is this normal? I would like to be able to get some protein in through food, instead of having to do so many shakes, but I just can't get anything in.
  17. Does anyone know if the Crystal Light pure fitness powders are ok to use? I know we should be sugar-free, but this only has 3g of sugar per packet and taste sooo much better than regular CL.
  18. i had the same pain, but on my left side. i thought i was going to die. the doc told me it was just normal post op pain and that many people feel like they are up to moving around, about a week or so out, when really we should be resting. i had just over done it, but after a few days of complete rest, i was feeling much better! it wouldn't hurt to ask your doc though! good luck!
  19. Wow! Great info! Thanks everyone!
  20. I was just wondering how everyone takes their vitamins? This morning I sat down with mine and tried to get them in one at a time and I thought I was gonna vom! Is it ok if I space them out throughout the day? Ick!
  21. Thanks ladies! Good to know this will hopefully end soon!
  22. Skinnyagain, did the doc say what would need to be done about a pulled stitch? Does it just have to heal on its own?
  23. Thanks Can'tweight. It's good to know it will get better. I wasn't given a binder unfortunately, so I will just have to take it extra easy.
  24. Funny, I just read this whole thread because I searched "incision pain". I too have the same burning on the left incision. I'm exactly a week out today and thought I was up to getting out and walking around. I went to the grocery store and about 10 min in, I was almost doubled over in pain. My mom and I had to get back to the car and head home. I also was sleeved by Dr. Nick at Forest Park. There may be something to this??
