  1. I slept on my back for the first 4 nights in a recliner/hospital bed with the knees and upper body up in a recliner-like position. From my 5th night I went back to sleeping on my front, no pain at all.

I did experience that weird sideways on pain/discomfort. I've not tried for months as I didn't like the feeling.

I'm sure you'll be able to sleep on your stomach soon. Good luck! biggrin.gif

i am a tummy sleeper also.i had my plication done in January and have no problems at all sleeping in any postion now

  2. Yall will do fine.. If it was soo easy to do what everyone here has done than everyone would be lining up for a part of it.. It is extremely hard and takes a lot of self control. You just have to want it more than you are suffering right now.. Once you get past the carb withdrawls you will be at a better place to help you get through it the rest of the way..good luck ladies and keep you heads up...

i have had the plication done in January but i had to be on a low carb/high Protein preop before hand..I thought i was going to die..the carb monster was rearing its ugly head at me constantly and i constatly had to ignore it...believe it or not the longer you go with out the junky carbs the easier it gets and pretty soon you don't want any of that junk stuff.and better yet when you start losing the weight and the inches its way easy to stop eating junk and replace it with the good stuff.

  3. Hi, i am schedule to have the plication with Dr.Almanza on 03/31/11. Has anyone had this procedure done by him?

i have not had the plication done by that dr but have had the plication done by dr corvola in Mexico i do not regretmy decsion at all.I have lost close to 40 pounds since decmeber and i think am one of the lucky ones that have alot of restriction and can only eat about 4 ounces of anything and then i am full.

  4. I am the exact same way. I have a very small Breakfast and lunch along with a couple of small Snacks throughout the day and I am full after each meal. But, at dinner, I can eat much more before I feel full. I have an appointment with my surgeon tomorrow and I this is one of the things I am going to ask him about. Also there are days when I don't feel much restriction. Then there are days when I have a lot of restriction.

hey Kuzzy i had that plication the same time as you and there is no way on earth i would ever be able to eat 3 tacos.. i have alot of restirction..and dont every really feel super hungry

  5. I'm trying out the Instead cup today. Supposed to last up to 12 hours with no leaking. The reviews are pretty good. These are disposable ones. I just ordered a Lunette reusable one which seemed to have better ratings. Has anyone else ever tried these? I'm going on a vacation next week and my period is really heavy, so I'm hoping this helps!!!

i use these all the time. They are geat. There is still some leakage so i use a pad as backup

  6. I had my VSG on Friday Feb. 4. For two weeks before I was on the 800 calorie per day liquid diet. I lost about 10 lbs quickly, which triggered gouty arthritis in my left ankle. I was OK pain wise until I had to stop ibuprofen 1 week before surgery. I tried to tough it out on tylenol but I ended up going to urgent care on Monday. I got an outbrake dose of colchacine. My ankle was OK for two days but on the day of the surgery it was throbbing again. The surgeon remarked to my wife that my blood pressure dropped 50 points when they put me under. She replied "of course it was because he was in pain!". The surgeon put my on a two week course of colchacine. Today is my first day I am trying to get off of the hydrocodone and my ankle is still sore.

i have big flare ups of gout in my feet also and have found that Naproxin works way better than the colchacine.its worth a try.I feel your pain!!

  7. After much reading. I decided I wanted plication instead of the band. Now I am worried I am too fat for plication. I have 120 to lose (I would be thrilled with 100) I read that this procedure is usually done for those with smaller BMI's. Now I am worried I will not be able to get this surgery. Any thoughts?

I am getting something done Mid march. band, plication or sleeve. I just need to know what is best for me. I am scared of the band because of all the horror stories I have read. Please share opinions!

i have had the plication done and have very much the same amount to loose.\i am very happy with it.

  8. Thanks, everyone! I am on a PPI for the next 3 weeks. I didn't have much indigestion before my surgery. I am hoping it's just my stomach getting used to its new life. The pain is kind of stabby and like a stitch you get when running. It's under my left rib. It comes and goes. I think I read another post about plication people getting that a few weeks out. Maybe my tummy is just an over-achiever and doing it early! rolleyes.gif

hey Iggy I jad the plication done on the 5th of JAnuary by dr.corvola too.I am having troubles going to the thick liquids from just broth and Water.I am sure it will come.I too also have that "stitch" like pain under my ribs. i was told it was from over doing the walking and exercising so i have quit doing that and the pain is residing little by little.

  9. I just had the new procedure called "gastric sleeve plication" I am 21 days post op. It was quite difficult to find much information on this since it is so new. I am very pleased with my results, surgeon, and overall experience. I would be happy to share information with anyone considering "plication" My surgeon was Dr. Corvalas in T.J. Mexico. I am down 14 pounds at this point. No problems whatsoever.

hi Fit i have been reading on the forum for sometime now but have never really talked to any one on here.I am in canada and am going in January to mexico with the same Dr. can you tell me any info that may think that is important for me to know.i am just nervous about the surgery itself and the next few days after
